What: Yuto finds a small padlock necklace, then Yuto in dragon form flies around.

A. A mysterious padlock
[When Yuto woke up this morning he noticed a small strange padlock on a string wrapped around the doorknob in his room. At first he thought it may be something from Hajime, but it wasn't. A prank from Davesprite then? But why would he do something like that?

It was strange and yet Yuto couldn't leave that padlock behind. He took it with himself and now that he's sitting on the rail of the bridge, he's inspecting the golden item with narrowed eyes. It looks like someone made a necklace from a rather small padlock. Maybe the person who did it lost the key but didn't want to throw this thing away?]

I wonder why it was in my room... [He says out loud.]

B. A dark dragon
[Later that day a dark shadow can be seen up in the sky of the Near Shore. Its shape is that of a black dragon and it would be no surprise if one thought it was a dragon-like ayakashi.

The dragon flies around, seemingly looking for something, then it carefully and slowly lands on a rooftop of a building and watching the streets from above. Its yellow eyes glow, but it's obvious nobody sees it.

Thankfully the dragon isn't big and it seems to be careful not to move its tail too much to not damage anything.

And it keeps on watching.]

What was in your room?

[Here, have a Lavi who's currently peering at Yuto from behind a book.

He eyes the other curiously, having overheard him.]

[darkduelist]

[Why, hello there, Lavi. He didn't see you there.

Yuto looks at the other, then he shows him the golden padlock necklace.]

This. [Yuto looks down at the necklace lying on his palm now.] It was wrapped around the doorknob.

[lostinshadows]

[It's okay, Yuto. Lavi usually tries to avoid detection, anyway.

But he peers down at the padlock necklace, interest piqued.]

Wouldn't that usually mean someone left that for you? [Or if someone left it.]

[Given Shun's still keeping up a regular patrol schedule, it's not too surprising he sees the dragon pass over him in its flight. However, he also doesn't confuse it for an ayakashi, or even seem particularly bothered by its presence - after looking up to identify it initially, he watches it pick out a rooftop to land on before heading over to the building himself. It has good-sized balconies and plenty of them, so rather than teleport straight up to the roof, he leaps up each balcony as if the whole building is no more than a slightly complicated ladder to him.

Once he passes the edge of the rooftop, he lands neatly, straightens up, and surveys the dragon again. Or, more accurately, surveys Yuto, because the sight of Dark Rebellion stabs at him fresh every time he's reminded Yuto wouldn't even remember its name.]

Even if you ask Hajime to change you first, I don't think you can take out ayakashi in that form without her anyway.

[darkduelist]

But who? And why?

[He closes his eyes.]

It wasn't my god or her other shinki, so... [Who?]

[darkduelist]

[Yuto catches sight of Shun and observes him until the other joins him on the rooftop. But even then, there's no greetings and Yuto responds only after Shun says something.]

Even so, I can still fly in this form, so it makes it easier to scan the area. [And watch for ayakashi.

He finally starts seeing some merits of being able to fly.]

[There's a slight shrug from Shun at that.] On foot works just as well. And if there's any threat around that isn't an ayakashi, you're less likely to take out a building if you use a normal weapon.

[It's put very straightforwardly, not in the manner of an argument but simply as someone who considers the other option a bit more practical. Especially since Yuto would have to ask Hajime to switch him between forms.

On the note of on foot, though, he points back the way he came from.] There's nothing back the next few blocks in that direction, I've already checked over it.

[There's a brief pause.

Not Yuto's god or her other shinki, but it's suddenly appeared?]

Let's go around and ask people if they've seen it before or missing it then.

[darkduelist]

Do you really think someone from here could've seen it before?

[It.. would've been a little weird, because how on earth it would get into Yuto's room.]

[lostinshadows]

Nope. [At least he's blunt.]

But maybe they've seen something similar to it. [A glance down at the necklace.] Otherwise, I'm thinking it's actually yours.

[darkduelist]

...Mine?

[He looks surprised for a second, then starts looking at the necklace with even more curiosity. Would he really have something like this in the past?

After a moment he comes to a conclusion that it is very possible.]

[lostinshadows]

[Lavi nods.]

Yeah. If it's just appeared on your doorknob, it'd make sense if it actually belongs to you, doesn't it?

[darkduelist]

I don't think I could take out a building [Seriously, he's not that big.] but I'll keep that in mind.

[Then he looks in the direction that Shun is pointing. And he nods.]

Alright. I'll check in the other direction then.

B

[Holy shit is that a—]

[By all accounts, he should get away. Call his god, maybe, since he'd just gotten reprimanded for it a few days ago. But that is not what he's going to do.]

[The entire climb up the stairs, all the ways this a bad idea flit through his mind, but he ignores them all and steps onto the roof.]

...Nobody seems to have seen you. [His voice is maybe quieter than it should be when talking to a dragon across a roof, but, well. He's talking to a dragon across a rooftop.]

A hard enough attack with that tail could at least wipe out part of the foundation. [These are the kinds of things Shun thinks about routinely. It's not necessarily a bad thing to be able to take out a building, but in a place this densely populated it's not really worth the risk.

It's still a bizarre experience watching Dark Rebellion speak with Yuto's voice, but Shun remains impassive in the face, at least.]

If you're interested, I could come with you to check anything you spot more closely. With the buildings this densely packed, landing on the ground in that form is going to be more trouble than it's worth for small things.

[darkduelist]

[The man heading his way doesn't go unnoticed by Yuto's watchful eyes. And so, when the other appears on the rooftop, the dragon looks right at him, but doesn't move from the spot.]

They don't notice me. [He replies after a moment, then he just observes.

Maybe it's a part of his nature to not be clear when he meets someone for the first time, but he could've really told the other he's a shinki. After all, isn't it weird to meet a dragon all of a sudden?]

[blizzardrock]

[With that confirmation, this dragon can only be one of a few things, and he has never met an ayakashi that could talk, so...]

Shinki...? [Or god? Either way, that's a relief; he was afraid he was going to have to fight, and...his borderlines aren't too good...]

[He steps closer.] Did something happen?

[Luckily it's Sora that spots the dragon figure way up high. Since he's seen the dragon from once before he's more curious and surprised than running head first to attack the supposed "ayakashi". No, instead he teleports himself right up to that rooftop beside the dragon.]

Yuto? What're you doing?

[It's not usual for Yuto to just be cruising around in his vessel form, is it?]

[darkduelist]

[Probably?

Yuto still looks at the necklace, then a small frown appears on his face.]

...I guess I would wear something like this. [He pauses.] Do you think it's okay for me to keep it?

[It was in his room... but still.]

[darkduelist]

I'm not going to attack a building. Or try to fight here in this form. [Does that make you feel any better? But really, he doesn't want any buildings damaged.

Yuto looks at him for a moment, before going back to watching the streets.]

Thanks, but I don't want to keep you from anything. [Was Shun going somewhere before he saw him?]

[lostinshadows]

[He refrains from making a lame joke, nodding.]

I think it'd be fine.

[He closes his book.]

So why not put it on?

[darkduelist]

Yes. I'm a shinki. [Yuto nods a lightly when saying that but his gaze never leaves the other.]

Nothing happened. I'm watching for ayakashi. [He glances at his wings.] Besides, it's a good idea if I practice flying every now and then.

[So he doesn't get rusty.]

[darkduelist]

[Yuto blinks, looks at Lavi then looks at the padlock. Its golden surfaces shines in the sunlight.

He hesitates a moment before he actually puts it on.]

...And?

[He asks as if something was supposed to happen.]

[darkduelist]

[Yuto should be glad then that it's Sora and not someone else, right?

When the other appears suddenly on the rooftop, Yuto looks at him warily, then relaxes visibly when he sees it's Sora.]

...You could say that I'm patrolling. [He pauses, then goes back to watching the streets.] And practicing flying, too. [Or at least he was doing that before he perched himself here.]

[lostinshadows]

[Lavi chuckles.]

And does it feel normal to you?

[To have it with you, he wants to ask, but--

Lavi could already be doing potential damage by encouraging this.]

Either way, it looks good on you.
