May Training
Who: Everyone
What: Information and Training
When: July 15
Where: Bishamon's temple, the Far Shore
Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods (although there's none this time) and shinki

The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.
The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.
Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.

God Training
- Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.
Shinki Training
- Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.
Physical Training
- The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.
Rest and Refreshments
- There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.
There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

In Summary:
- Get all the information you can handle
- Veteran new gods and shinki are welcome to volunteer showing the ropes
- Get in some training
- Don't get dehydrated
- Spectate if you want
- Have fun~
shinki training - I'm sorry
She notices a young man standing with a pamphlet matching the one in her hands. After skimming through it, Ayumu has a vague understanding that he's trying to follow the instructions given for a borderline whatevers is. Personally, she's been stuck trying to figure what a halberd's supposed to be and how she's supposed to make her fingers look like one so she approaches him, hoping that he might be able to answer.
Ayumu's not quite sure what just came flying at her but muscle memory kicks in to urge her to dodge with a quick sideways roll. She doesn't really know what she's doing but her instincts are driving her to counter something that in the heat of the moment appears to be some sort of attack. So she attempts to mimic what she's seen other shinki do with their hands and shouts.]
Line!
[But nothing happens on her end. Her fingers aren't in right shape. This would probably work much better if she had a clue what a halberd was.]
<3!
His hand reaches back behind him and fwwwwip!! he feels something pole-like connect with his palm. It's a long staff. What the heck?? Where did that come from?
Goku quickly pulls himself up to his feet, holding the staff awkwardly and staring at the girl (his attacker?) and blinking. ]
Um. Are you okay?
no subject
No attack comes, however, and with a question like that, it doesn't seem like one's going to come so Ayumu takes a deep breath and relaxes, letting the adrenalin flow back to where it belongs.]
Yes. I'm fine. Sorry about that. I was a little... startled.
[Understatement but Ayumu's a little embarrassed by both her overreaction and abysmal failure to create that borderline.]
no subject
That's okay! I was just trying this thing out, with lines and stuff.
[ She looks embarrassed, so he gives her a bright and reassuring smile. ]
I'm Goku, by the way.
no subject
I'm Ayumu.
[She bends down to pick the pamphlet she'd dropped during the scuffle (??).]
I was hoping you might be able to help me with something. I don't know if you can but there's a word in this that I don't understand. I've been trying to figure it out on my own but I just don't know what it means.
no subject
A word?
[ He tilts his head curiously. ]
Which one?
no subject
[Ayumu doesn't pronounce it quite right, it coming out sounding closer to 'hair-bird' but she's trying, at least?]
I don't know what it is.
[She laughs a little sheepishly. Ayumu's thankful for these pamphlets but a picture would have been helpful.]
no subject
[ And with the tip of his staff, he draws a line in the dirt, followed by something vaguely resembling a curved axe-like blade on one end. It's a very basic picture, but he's trying. ]
I dunno what they mean about making your fingers look like it, though.
no subject
[As basic as it is, Ayumu thinks she gets it now. As for how to make her fingers look like that, she's at a bit of a loss. It's such a strange, specific shape to mimic.]
Maybe something like this?
[Ayumu holds out her hand, fingers curling in toward her palm a bit as she tries to imitate the shape drawn in the dirt.]
no subject
[ If it's something totally dangerous, then the people in charge wouldn't just throw shinki out there to experiment by themselves, right? ]
no subject
[Ayumu swipes her hand through the air. This time her voice is quieter.]
Line!
[And nothing happens. She sighs.]
So that's not it either.
no subject
We can probably ask someone? But I dunno anyone yet.
[ Which makes you one of his first friends! ]
I know we're supposed to get partners and stuff.
no subject
[Then she remembers the shinki who gave her his tunic and went for a walk with her. But after a quick glance around the training area, she doesn't see him now. Maybe Souji had taken a break?]
Well, I met a couple who've been here for a while but I don't see them anywhere now... Maybe they left already.
[Ayumu takes another look at the drawing in the dirt, studying it intently while she continues to speak.]
Oh, have you met your god yet, Goku-san?
no subject
[ Maybe they'll eventually find someone who can teach them stuff. Goku's not especially anxious about it. (Something must give him the confidence? Besides, he can materialize a weapon. Must mean he can fight, too. He squats close to the ground, holding his staff with one hand while studying his doodle on the ground. ]
I haven't met my god, yet. Guess they're suppose to find me, cuz they didn't tell me who they were.
What about you?
no subject
[For all her anxiety over being in a place she doesn't know with no memories to guide her, she's taken great comfort in knowing her role's only that of a servant. It must be tough to come to this place in a position of command with subordinates to be responsible for.]
It's pretty exciting, in a way. I hope we'll get along well.
no subject
Everyone I've met so far have been real nice, at least. [ Including you! He grins. ]
I was a little sad about not knowing anyone at first, but it's lots better now.
no subject
[She smiles sincerely. Goku seems like such a nice boy. Not everyone would forgive an attack so quickly, even if it had been both a failure and a misunderstanding.]
Not knowing anyone doesn't bother me quite as much as not recognizing anything or knowing exactly what resources I have at my disposal. I'm not sure why.
[It makes her feel a little helpless on her own and that's a feeling she doesn't care much for at all.]
no subject
[ Hmm...Goku ponders on that word. ]
You mean like the kinds of weapons or food you might have here?
[ Weapons, because he knows they're supposed to be fighters here and that's the first thing that comes to mind as being a handy resource to have for such a situation. And food because...well. It's always important to be well fed. You can't fight on an empty stomach. ]
no subject
[She sighs.]
And not knowing what foundations I have... It's a little bothersome. But at least, I know for sure I don't know much about magic! That's a start.
[Knowing one's limits is important and now she doesn't and she's a bit at a loss with guidance.]
Does that makes sense?
no subject
[ He hasn't really fought anyone yet, as far as he remembers, so it's hard to really tell how good or bad he is at it.
He pulls the staff in front of him and looks at it curiously. ]
And you're right, at least about the weapons. Hehe. [ It just appeared out of no where. Doesn't get much easier than that! ]
Maybe if I think real hard about beef with noodles, it'll just show up.
no subject
[Not that she can really say for sure, given that her history's gone. But it feels like that might be the case.]
Are you hungry, Goku-san? There's food in the garden.
no subject
He grins. ]
Starving! Let's go.
no subject
What's there might not be as filling as a full meal but it's something to tide you over, at least, until your god finds you. If you're thirsty, too, there's water.
no subject
I guess we're supposed to go live with our gods from now on. What kind of a god do you think yours will be like?
[ They approach the food tables and he already likes what he sees. Sandwiches of all different sorts. Piles of fruit, like apples, strawberries, grapes, and oranges. Not the mention the desserts... ]
no subject
[Someone who could take care of her a little, at least, until things stop being so overwhelming and confusing would be nice. A god who could guide her until she's able to guide herself, maybe. But all of that is embarrassing to even think about much less admit out loud.]
Someone who's not hard to live with, hopefully! And who doesn't make me do all the cooking and cleaning. How about you?
[She picks up an apple off the table herself, biting into it with a crunch.]
