Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods (although there's none this time) and shinki



The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.
Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




God Training

Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

[ Her smile blossoms at the act, so utterly Jae-Ha, and a faint flush colors high on her cheeks but her smile is genuine and warm. ]

I'm glad. Then there is just the detail of giving you a vessel name. [ Which is something she takes very seriously, especially for such an important reason as this. Her expression turns thoughtful as she considers it. An idea occurring to her, her expression brightens. ] But I think I might have an appropriate one in mind. Shall we proceed?

[He draws back up to his full height, offering a faint smile in turn. He knows he has little choice in this particular matter, but he appreciates that she's made an effort to make it appear as though he does.

The blush doesn't hurt, either.]

I'm interested to know what you think might suit.

[ She smiles up at him as he stands, giving him a solemn nod, her gaze warm. ]

Very well, then. [ She takes a deep breath before speaking the words she'd learned upon first arriving here. ] Grasping thy true name, I bind thee here. With borrowed name, I dub thee my servant. Jae-Ha answers, Fuu to sound.

[ She holds a hand out to him once more. ] Fuuki, come!

[The change takes place suddenly, before he can even begin to comment on the name and whether or not he feels it might suit. It happens so quickly that the process itself is almost instant-- the handsome man who'd stood before her only moments earlier is now gone, a large dragon hovering in his place, towering over Yona herself, scales a gleaming emerald.

The only bit of Jae-Ha that remains is the bright ribbon that's tied around the dragon's tail.]

How did you--

[He knew shinki took a different form when they were named by their gods, but this was far from what he'd expected.]

[ Since her other two shinki had taken the form of a pair of glasses and a familiar bow, Yona had been anticipating something similar, perhaps daggers like Jae-Ha was so fond of using.

The sudden appearance of a dragon in front of her had not even occurred to her as a possibility and it's so unexpected she stumbles backwards, tripping on the hem of her gown in her haste and landing on her ass in the dirt with a startled yelp. She barely pays it any mind, however, blinking up in awe at the green dragon looming over her. ]

...Ryokuryuu!

[If a dragon of his size and apparent ferocity could look apologetic, it's almost certain that he does-- if only because of the slow lowering of his head followed by a very puzzled-sounding snort.]

I do hope you'll tell me I'm more impressive than your other shinki, otherwise this seems like a terrible waste.

[ The sound of his voice, as much as what he says, has her surprise fading into awe and wonder as she reaches out to tentatively lay a hand against his face where he hovers above her. She laughs softly, her expression amazed as she takes in the size of him. ]

You are certainly impressive, Jae-Ha! I never thought.... this is more than even I imagined!

[Her touch against his face is surprisingly welcome, for reasons he can't quite explain-- but it's certainly something more than the fact that she's an attractive young woman. Often, that would be enough, but there was something else at work here. The bond between god and shinki, perhaps?]

It's not like this for the others, then?

[Well, he is a particularly magnificent specimen.]

Ah, well... I've never seen anyone who could turn into something living before. My other shinki.... Shizuo turns into a pair of glasses and Hak turned into a bow. Most often they seem to take forms that help with offense or defense.

[ And Zeno and Kija are gods, not shinki. Was this, perhaps, something to do with the blood in Jae-Ha's veins? ]

[Glasses and a bow. Clearly that makes him the most impressive of the three-- he can be satisfied with that.]

No doubt a dragon can help with both. May I ask a favor, Yona-chan?

[Because what are formalities to a dragon.]

[ What are formalities to Jae-Ha in general? She smiles at the name though, quickly nodding in reply. ]

Of course, Jae-Ha. What is it?

[He exhales, almost a bit too forcefully. It's hard to gauge such things at his current size.]

If you wouldn't mind scratching the end of my nose for me?

[His arms are too short to reach it now. It's a problem.]

[ Yona blinks. And then blinks again. And then she just doubles over with laughter, giggling helplessly at the request, one hand clutching against her stomach. After the tenseness of the morning and the horrible visions she'd woken to, being able to laugh at something like this was a wonderful relief and she was desperately grateful that Jae-Ha was still so very himself. ]

Jae-Ha, come.

[ She says the words that reverses his shinki form instead, letting him change back to his normal appearance. ]

There, is that better?

[And just as suddenly as he'd changed the first time, he's back to his original form, his clothes none the worse for wear, though he makes a point of smoothing his hair down, preening just enough to ensure that everything is as it should be.]

Much. While I'm sure I make a very handsome dragon, this version of me is undoubtedly much prettier.

[ Ger smile is warm and fond as she gives a nod, because she can hardly argue that fact, can she? ]

Of course. Doorways are also less likely to be a problem like this, as well.

Was there more training you planned on doing today, or should we go find the others and see if they're ready to go home?

I think I've trained enough for today.

[Really, he's learned about as much as he thinks he's going to be able to retain in a single day, and he's curious to meet these 'others.']

I suppose we'd all better get to know one another?

[ She smiles up at him and holds out her hand to him. ]

Yes, that sounds lovely. Let's go find the others, then, and head home.
