May Training
Who: Everyone
What: Information and Training
When: July 15
Where: Bishamon's temple, the Far Shore
Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods (although there's none this time) and shinki

The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.
The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.
Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.

God Training
- Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.
Shinki Training
- Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.
Physical Training
- The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.
Rest and Refreshments
- There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.
There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

In Summary:
- Get all the information you can handle
- Veteran new gods and shinki are welcome to volunteer showing the ropes
- Get in some training
- Don't get dehydrated
- Spectate if you want
- Have fun~

[Ren smiles very briefly--it's just physically impossible for him to get through a conversation without trying to lighten things up a little--but he quickly sobers up again to make it clear that he is taking this seriously despite that.]
I don't intend to do anything that would endanger him. He's my shinki, and more than that, I like he a lot as a person already. I'll come up with something to tell Eric that will keep all of us safe.

[Hakkai nods at Ren's more serious coda.]
I know.
[He smiles, too, just a quick flicker.] I've seen you deal with difficult shinki, if you'll recall. I trust you with this.
Besides, Goku is much less trouble than some.
[He should know. On both counts, in fact.]
no subject
That's a relief. I'm not sure my health could take going through that a second time.
[And yet, he would still subject himself to that again if, by some miracle, he was asked to. Thankfully, the chances of that are slim to none. The Certain Someone would definitely ask Hakkai first, if he was going to ask that of anyone.]
He doesn't seem like he'll be any trouble at all, though. He's just really enthusiastic...unless that enthusiasm means he'll be accidentally punching holes on the walls or something?
no subject
[Although, considering that his staff is supposed to be bound to him until death, does the fact that he's now dead mean he won't be able to summon it anymore?
It's a morbid thought, and Hakkai shakes his head after a moment, dismissing it.]
But I'm sure you have nothing to worry about!
no subject
[Still, he's not going to worry about it until it happens, especially if Hakkai doesn't think he needs to. Doesn't mean he can't joke about needing to be worried a little more, though.]
Maybe you should come by a little more often just to make sure. I'm still working through some of the coffee I got in Iraq, and there were some really good cookies in the gift baskets too.
no subject
[Hakkai chuckles a little. It's a pleasant memory: Goku kicking a youkai kidnapper through the roof of an animal byre. His embarrassed oops, Sanzo's scolding...
... it feels like only this morning he was with them, but he suddenly misses that camaraderie fiercely.]
Oh my, are the cookies still good? I'll have to visit soon, then, won't I?
I may have some tea you'd like, if it's still at Yuri's temple. I'll have to check.
no subject
[Obviously, Hakkai should definitely come soon, if he wants to have any hope of having any cookies at all. It's not like Ren can't just pop back over to Baghdad any time or anything.]
Oh, I'll look forward to it, then! I haven't gotten any new teas lately.
no subject
[Can't miss the cookies, after all... and with Goku in the household, a few sealed packages will go fast.
He doesn't see any need to warn Ren about his new shinki's appetite. He'll learn soon enough.]
Perhaps in a day or two, once I've had some time to settle into my new temple, then?
no subject
Yes! I'll try to be home for it. [That's assuming Hakkai doesn't call to ask if he is beforehand like a reasonable person.] Maybe I should come visit you sometime too. I kind of what to see what kind of temple you got. They're all so interesting.
no subject
He ignores the 'try to be home,' because of course for a visit he'd call first, but he smiles cheerfully at the suggestion.]
You'd be welcome! I don't know what temple I have yet myself, but it's sure to be interesting.
With any luck, it won't have a forest full of nooses around it, either....
no subject
Oh dear, that is definitely not a temple he's seen or heard of yet, and he can imagine that might be an unsettling place to live in after a while.]
Temples really come in all shapes and sizes and...landscapes that might be hard to maneuver in the dark, don't they? I don't think a temple like that suits you or a doctor, though.
no subject
[From the glint in his eye, he's definitely teasing now. He doubts his temple will be anywhere near as gloomy as Yuri's; medicine isn't quite the same as her domain. Of course -- he's also killed quite a few more people than she has.
He shrugs casually.]
... But we'll see. I'll warn you in advance if it turns out to be anything too startling.
