Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods and shinki



The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.

Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




Divine Bureaucracy

Wasn't it the newly revamped Shinki Agency's job to assign shinki this time... They thought it was the original team of Amaterasu's shinki's job this one last time before Shinki Agency took over the responsibility. Needless to say, when the shinki wake up at the Meeting Hall, there's a lot of shouting. Eventually, one of the Shinki Agency representatives herds the new shinki together and instructs them to please all go to Bishamonten's temple for the time being and they will send a runner with the god-shinki assignments as soon as they can.

New gods and old gods alike will not be notified that there is a mix-up unless they come to Bishamon's temple for Training, until the Shinki Agency can figure out what happened.

Important addendum: For this round, gods still have a vision of how their shinki died, however they can't make out any details, particularly about who they saw die.
Once a shinki of the Agency gives the god the name of their shinki, the god is then able to find them by name. Once they give their shinki a vessel name the god will have the full vision of how their shinki died.

This addition comes in response to some questions and need for clarification. Apologies and thank you for your input.

God Training

Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

• New characters are welcome to ask old characters if this mix-up is common (spoilers: it's not)

• New Gods: take what information you can from Amaterasu's shinki (see FAQ) while waiting to find out if you've been assigned a shinki

I can summon the rain and wind, use knives, have good accuracy in throwing at non-moving targets, and I know how to defend myself.

[All said as she was counting her fingers, realizing she may not be the type to use a weapon since she relies on her wind abilities and fists.]

I don't think I'm the type to use a weapon or know how to...

[Maybe. Something tells her it may be the case, but she wasn't too sure the more she thought about it. She doesn't remember of a time that she did.]

I suppose that's what happens when you smash a bunch of mythologies together...

[There's more important things to do first, and Garry puts his hands on his hips with a thoughtful frown of his own. While being named isn't exactly a foreign concept now thanks to the pamphlet, he's still not really sure how he feels about it... After all, although he doesn't know how, he very clearly remembers his name, doesn't he? So to just be given another name...]

[...Well, he guesses if he wants to be helpful, it's just something he'll have to go along with.]

Physical Training

[What a cute smile. He's very appreciative of such a charming smile.

It gives him something to wipe off later.]

Weapons. [He pulls a knife out from his shirt and gives it a spin in his fingers with a smirk on his face.] It's easier to see who won and lost that way, don't you think?

[Best be careful, Allen. He's definitely got more up his sleeve.]

[He stands up straight again, shaking his clothes out to warm them up.]

This may have been the worst of anything I've seen.

Rest and Refreshments

[Does anyone really need a smoke here? Suppose without dying as a problem, people can smoke up a storm without any issues.

But, it's also a pain to witness. Grumbling and shaking his head.]

You smell horrible, you realize.

[Toushirou sips his water, eyes returning to people watching.]

You sound like you've had a rough day.

[How can you be intimately acquainted when she hadn't given her name yet? Even though that thought passes Kirie's mind it doesn't show. Hibiki is too much.

The finger under her chin and Hibiki with putting her hand over her heart from when she introduces herself. What....what? what?]

U-Um....

[SHE JUST MET YOU!! This is embarrassing! Konami has to lean back, away from Hibiki and slide down the bench. She's not going to be able to think otherwise. Still, her face is still red as ever.]

Shikyion-san. Got it. A-are you this friendly with everyone you meet?

[But 99% of the time when he was out of commission it was due to a broken something or other.]

A little. I've been getting more sleep but- [He shrugs. Nightmares don't go away that easily.]

[ Hibiki seems more startled by this reaction than her teacup breaking. Then, after a moment of Nike's feelings sinking in, she reaches to try and brush Nike's lower eyelids with her thumb, ever so gently, just in case. Just because she doesn't understand doesn't mean she can't try to act her way out of this console a damsel in distress. ]

Tears don't become you, mademoiselle. Look.

[ And she produces....another teacup. ]

[ She aims to satisfy the audience, you see. Pleasing a hard sell now and then isn't so bad. ]

[ She won't push the personal boundaries thing again right away. But she will smile like this is a totally normal thing to say point-blank.

[She smiles a little more widely, recognizing the name Sigyn at least...and Loki of course but something else catches her attention...]

You left? And returned? You...left dead and returned alive?

Well I'm certainly not a god. I'm human, and it'd feel somewhat blasphemous to claim it. I'm just...filling in, I think. That's how I'd like to think of it, anyway.

[Because aren't the Olympians immortal? Or aren't they supposed to be?]

I'd prefer Makoto though. Do you...have anything you'd like me to call you?

S-Stop saying that, I mean, you're not wrong but you're the one being really charming. You're practically sparkling!

[She shakes her head. Hibiki is sparkling, its just hard to believe she isn't imagining it! But at least with some breathing room she can settle down a little bit.]

I'm Konami Kirie. I just arrived here today. I'm suppose to be the god Sif or something...

[Kirie doesn't quite buy the whole 'turned god' thing just yet.

You seem...pretty comfortable so you must know this place well, right? Any advice?

[All of Izuku's training has been focused on his quirk and his body. Mostly because his body needs to be strong enough to handle his quirk.]

It is, but I would... rather we didn't break anything. [He likes being intact and his shinki would be so mad.] Besides, hand to hand focuses more on incapacitating your opponent than... completely destroying them. At least usually.

... But how sturdy is that armor?

You know about all the bodies being found, right?

I'd like to believe that. [But when you're from a superhero world, you can't just let things go.]

I've never heard of Nike-sama before... but then again, I'd never heard of a lot of these gods before now, heh heh! Do you know what kind of god they're supposed to be?

Konohanasakuya-hime. The goddess of life, volcanoes, and... a mountain in this realm. Fuji, I believe? ( Here's the first hint she's clearly not from Japan if she doesn't recognize Fuji of all places. ) I've never heard of Nike before... Are you familiar with them, Sakamoto?

( Sakamoto-san, even, despite the fact they might be around the same age. Knowing Japanese, he'll probably notice she speaks incredibly formal and polite. )

If you can't hold your position without an arrow then you w-won't be able to hold it with an arrow either. ( And she turns a practice arrow over in her hands as she speaks, contemplating if she should let him try anyway to see. She's trying to remember what her brother had done for her when she started. ) If you drop your position, the arrow will just hit the ground...

D-don't move, okay?

( And she'll start to slip the arrow into position carefully for him, letting it rest on his fingers. )

When you think you're ready try to hit a-as close to the target as you can.

[ The flip's a nice touch and it does catch him a little off-guard, but then he's laughing, because that's a move he totally would have pulled and that just makes everything more fun.

Already anticipating the blow from behind, he drops instead to the ground, balanced on his hands as he kicks hard with his feet, swinging them in a low blow aimed at the guy's knees as he pivots on his palms. It's a move he often uses to launch himself back onto his skateboard, but for the moment it will do for this. It certainly shows he's nimble enough to deal with an attack coming from most directions, even if it is somewhat unexpected. ]
