[Closed] A Gathering of Thieves
Who: The Phantom Thieves and their Shinki
What: Information Sharing.
Where: The Far Shore, the Park
When: July 26th, Late Afternoon
Summary: 3 new gods arrive to find that 2 of their closest friends are dead, and they are responsible
for two other people as well. A talk is needed.
Warnings: Major Persona 5 Spoilers in comments, also probably language.
[Arriving here with little warning had been jarring enough, but when the Phantom Thieves realized that they weren't alone, and that two of their number had no memories, it was time to confer somewhere. Temples and the like had felt a little raw, and not wanting to stray too far from the Far Shore until they had their bearings, the group had gathered in the park. Akira, Ann, Futaba, Makoto, and Ryuji, along with the shinki that had unwittingly become part of their circle, all standing around in a small clearing, talking. It should've been a positive occasion, but there was no denying the shroud that hung over the group. There was a lot to talk about, and things that needed to be agreed upon.
The question was...how to even start?]

[She shakes her head a little.]
I meant we can't tell them that they're Phantom Thieves.
I somehow missed this one in my earlier tag bomb
[Even thinking about telling Ann anything about her past gives him an uncomfortable prickling feeling at the back of his neck.]
They're gonna be wonderin' what the eff's happening when they find out, though. Think we could tell 'em then?
fail
Which is a problem, but one we can get around with care. Mind yourself, Ryuji.
[You know why she's saying that.]
NO U
[No, he doesn't know why she's saying that! He's kept his mouth shut about... most things... since he got here.]
U >:<
[Someone had to say it.]
what is that face
[Ah, he sees what you mean now, Makoto. His voice lowers from the offended shouting to an offended whisper.]
It ain't like anyone's listenin'. Besides, I got nothin' to hide.
... And does it really count if it's a part of who they are now? The whole persona thing, I mean.
no subject
[She's dead serious here. They've taken some really, really stupid risks before but this is different. This? There's no going back from if it starts.]

[He balls his hands into fists, and his jaw visibly clenches and unclenches. Ryuji knows that she's right about everything, because he had felt it, too. There was no denying that awful feeling in his gut he kept getting whenever he had so much as considered telling Ann everything. Despite all of that, he still can't help but hope.]
They might be dead, but we're still kinda together...
no subject
[She looks down at her hands, the knuckles white as snow, veins standing out against her skin]
I'd rather die than let anything else happen to them.
no subject
Yeah, that's what I've been hearin'. And this blight stuff is serious business, too. I'm gonna do whatever I can to keep Ann and Shion safe from that shit. The rest of you, too.
[He hopes that that's at least a little comforting, in his own way.]
no subject
[It is comforting, even if it's still Ryuji being...well...Ryuji.]
Have you had a chance to talk to Mabel yet? If you haven't...do so. she's incredibly sweet.
no subject
[It was an ACCIDENT, of course, but he forgets to clarify that. But he's grinning now, so moving right along!]
Reminds me - this mean that Mabel and Shion are kinda like Phantom Thieves now? They don't have personas but they're part of the team.
no subject
[And that's really the best she's got.]
no subject
What'd you end up namin' Akira? His shinki name or whatever?
no subject
no subject
He doesn't look up at her, but he does eventually provide a sheepish answer.]
Hyouki...
no subject
Fitting. Even now.

A sweater? In case you get cold or somethin'?
no subject
[...]
And they're shaped like kittens.

All he does is stare for a really, really long time, dumbfounded and trying to imagine Makoto shooting cat-shaped bullets out of the sleeves of some fuzzy sweater. And that mental image that he conjures up sends him into roars of laughter on the ground.]
Are you for real!? Does the sweater have a cat on it, too?
no subject
Eventually though, she gets annoyed.]
It does. Is that a problem?
no subject
[He's still laughing. He won't stop laughing.]
Does it meow when you shoot things too!?
no subject
[Are you going to make her punch you?]
