Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods (although there's none this time) and shinki



The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.
Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




God Training

Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

Before I came here, I wasn't really able to travel much. At one time I didn't even think much of the idea of staying one place for the rest of my life. [Before she knew what she was really missing out there.] But now I think it would be nice if I could see as much as I can before I leave.

[Mikaela doesn't know how long she'll be here, but thinking that she might not ever get another chance like it-- the experience feels special.]

That sounds like a shame, but I'm glad you're giving yourself the opportunity to do it here. [There's a very genuine note to her expression and tone as she says that.] I already travelled a lot back home, but I was always too busy to really appreciate it - I was a famous idol singer and had another job on top of that. Being here gives me the time to stop and see what else there is to it.

[Her old job doesn't usually come up this early, but it's hard to press exactly how run off her feet she tended to be in her own world without mentioning it.]

Back home I was a spirit of the forest. One of many, really, but I was the eyes of the god that lived there. So for many, many years I didn't have any reason to think about the world outside of the forest. But then-- I met someone. I became genuinely curious, and I was given an opportunity to do something for him outside the forest. Because of that I may have actually changed a lot.

[Nothing that she'd consider bad, really. In fact, Mikaela liked being closer to humans. Considering, then, what Maria said made Mikaela smile.]

Really? In my world, music and magic are tied to one another. I'd love to hear one of your songs sometime.

[Maria is always interested to hear about the experiences people have had in their own worlds, so she listens intently to Mikaela's story. It's a rather charming sounding tale, and she's smiling quite a bit by the end of it.]

It's good that you had that opportunity. Sometimes it takes that sort of push to bring us into ourselves, and it's always worth it in the end.

[The subject of music and magic being tied seems to strike home with Maria, and she looks, if anything, even more pleased as she goes on.]

Music has power in my world too, even if it's not quite magic. [There's a clear passion to her tone as she discusses it.] I'm part of a talent agency here as well, and we're planning to perform at Obon - a holiday due to fall soon - so there's a chance for you to hear me sing there. Do you sing yourself?

[Hearing someone talk about something they love is infectious. Mikaela finds herself intrigued, smiling wider when the performance comes us. Although she isn't familiar with the holiday, she finds herself looking forward to the celebration. Any holiday that people would sing and dance for would surely be a bright and happy occasion worth seeing for herself.]

I can't wait, I'm sure it will be lovely. I wouldn't miss it for anything.

[Remembering her own use of the art, Mikaela has to think for a moment. It's true she's sung, but she wasn't sure it was really the same. In the end, she just answers from the heart.]

A bit. I was taught a few pieces a while ago. I don't know about my skill, however... I enjoy it. I feel-- at peace when I'm singing.

[At least... that's the best way she knows to describe the warm and fuzzy feeling.]

[Likewise, Maria can always appreciate a happy and excited audience, and Mikaela's expression of interest in the celebration seems very genuine. So in return, it gets a just as genuine and broad smile from Maria. A performance without an audience is nowhere near as powerful, and the enjoyment of the audience is a top priority for any performer.]

I'm glad to hear it. There'll be some others performing too, so please look forward to it.

[It's also nice to hear that she enjoys singing, even if it's not something she's shared with others. Even so, Maria can't help but make an offer to her, given a pure enjoyment of music is one of her weak spots of fondness.]
