Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods (although there's none this time) and shinki



The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.
Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




God Training

Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

[As always, the Valkyrie eschews the other training grounds; her purview is the physical battlefield, and here she and her Einherjar hold sway.]

[Though slight in stature, the armored goddess radiates power and solid strength as she watches her Einherjar train -- two dead souls that were not shinki, sparring each other, sword vs. lance. A third waits nearby, patient for his turn or to train others as needed.]

[She meets the gaze of those who walk by without comment. While in the last session she might offer greetings or a question, now she has retreated further into imperious aloofness, trusting the offer to be clear from her expression. Which, to be fair, it is. Those who seek to learn how to battle will be well-served to approach.]

[Unbothered by aloofness, Rekka comes wandering over, her gaze on the Einherjar.]

...They aren't shinki, are they? [She at least says it quietly so the Einherjar hopefully can't hear.]

They are not. You look upon the Einherjar, who have been Chosen to train at my side, eventually to ascend to Valhalla.

...Once I determine how that might be accomplished here. [The main sticking point in this plan is not going to keep her from her duty.]

Chosen... They were brought along with you?

[The rest of it goes over her head; she doesn't know those terms. Although—having to figure out how to navigate being here with existing duties isn't a new thought for her, and she turns her gaze away from the Einherjar.] Are you in a hurry? How long have you been here?

No, I chose them from the Near Shore here.

[She makes a slight motion with her hand, which seems more dramatic than it should because of her distant and statue-like mien.]

I am in no particular hurry. My arrival here was some time ago, though many have been here longer.

...Humans? [Sorry Lenneth, she doesn't follow.]

[Though that does put to rest Rekka's curiosity about how they're brought here; she was wondering if it was pinpoint or it took a bit of an area. She still doesn't know, but it doesn't matter too much.]

[As for being in a hurry, she looks back at the Einherjar. She's unsure if she should be in a hurry, herself. ...Although, if Lenneth is taking them from the Near Shore, then where's...?] Is the process not the same for doing it here? The ascent.

The Far Shore is not Asgard. The meadhalls of Valhalla do not await here, or anywhere in this world. So I wait and train them as I ought to, until I find the opportunity to send them to their proper fate -- to become gods.

[Does that answer adequately? She is unused to explaining the principles of her duty, though she finds herself needing to do so more and more often these days.]

["Asgard"? ...That's not too important, she's got the gist of it.] I see...

[She might have jumped into this too hastily; when she'd heard that someone else was trying to fulfill their own task while stuck here, she'd wanted to see if there was any common ground. Lenneth's situation sounds like it's a bit different... But now that she's here, she should slow down and take it easy.] I'm Rekka.

I am the Valkyrie, here also known as Osiris.

[She has a name, of course, but it is reserved for her fellow gods. Her fellow Aesir, rather, though she will reluctantly share it with gods here if pressed. But the name is irrelevant. She is her duty.]

You have arrived but recently, then?

Not too long ago. [Which is why the beings that aren't shinki caught her eye, but it doesn't seem like a problem, from the looks of it. Especially since people have non-god-related abilities here.]

What do you train? [Because she has an ink-manipulation ability she doesn't know how to use; asking's worth a shot.]

Battle, in all its forms. [Which to her mind is necessary, an obligation, for all shinki and gods alike. Therefore, Rekka would have no reason to turn down such an offer, right?]

I see... [She supposes a god ability could be used for battle... She's already met someone who didn't know how it works, either, though, so she clarifies.]

I have an ability that I received when I arrived. It doesn't seem as if it's for combat.

...I don't know how to use it. [Said reluctantly. She hates to admit it, but she doesn't like not being able to control it, either.] Do you know spells?

I do not myself practice magic, but I am capable of training mages in combat. Show me your ability.

[She is rather imperious in her command, but not intentionally; she is simply that way.]

[That's a good display of strength if any. Zoro is fascinated by the way the... are those shinki? Fight each other. It radiates power and he's attracted to it immidiately. He watches for a few second before he walks towards who seems to be their god.]

Are they your shinki?

They are not.

[The Valkyrie turns to face him, her movements slow and measured as she looks up at him.]

They are my Einherjar. Worthy souls I Chose at the moment of death to train at my side, and in time ascend to Asgard as gods. They are similar to shinki, but fundamentally different in nature and purpose.

[He stares at them for a moment, inspecting them from afar, before nodding.]

Can I fight them?

You would not find them a challenge, I am afraid.

[She can answer that easily enough simply by assessing his motions and posture. He speaks of skill and great power, at least compared to her Einherjar, who are -- well, residents of the Near Shore until their deaths, and thus only beginners with weapons and warfare.]

[Zoro deflates quite visibly, and then looks up at the Valkirie.]

What if you fight me then?

While I believe you might find that more satisfying, I do not know if a shinki should so battle with their god.

[If she reads him correctly, he doesn't hold back, nor does she. That combat could prove destructive and dangerous to either of them. Also surprise, he's her shinki!]

[He smiles, big and bright.]

Badass! That's awesome, so that means you we gotta do the thingy to give me a name and whatnot?

That is correct. We may do so when you are prepared.

[She is not good at this, as should be obvious, and is mildly relieved he is being pretty downright cheerful about it.]

I am the Valkyrie. [Her voice resonates with powers, a testament to her divine nature, as she looks up at him.] Grasping thy true name, I bind thee here. With borrowed name, I dub thee my servant. The name answers, the vessel to sound. I call thee as my divine instrument.

[Zoro smiles before he transforms into a a sword with white hilt, and, if you shine the light on it right, the blade seems white too.]

[It feels weird being a weapon again, but he likes it, it gives him purpose.]

[The goddess is silent for a moment, as she appraises the sudden sensation flooding her.]

[His power is to give strength and skill to the wielder. Hers enhances the powers of another by touch. And she is a goddess of battle.]

[She turns slightly, and with what feels like no more than a flick of the wrist, cuts through a training dummy like so much air. Simply a matter of understanding where to put the blade for maximum effect.]
