Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods (although there's none this time) and shinki



The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.
Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




God Training

Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

[God Training]
[Being a fairly new god, Nari has no idea what he's supposed to be doing other than the ayakashi thing. So far? He's managed to figure out a small part of his new power. Unfortunately it seems to come with as mischievous a streak as the man himself has. A small storm cloud will form over the nearest person and start to drizzle the victim with heavy droplets of water. Nari himself will be trying, and failing, to keep a smirk off of his face by hiding it with his hand. It's still a little too obvious that the source of the rain happens to be the ginger.

When able to take over a small clear area, he'll be attempting to teleport between two points and not doing too well. Every time the godling appears again, he trips and stumbles with some rather loud cursing. There's no avoiding an earful of that.]

[Physical training]
[Seeing as Nari only has a soulless shinki at the moment, he's opting to watch others train for now. The guy himself is only good at hunting and decent at fishing, so this was all a little beyond what he's knows how to do. He might on occasion come up to someone with his arms crosses, god or shinki, doesn't matter.]

[The sudden drizzle over him has Toushirou peer up somewhat curiously. Upon seeing that it's a small storm cloud, he sighs and glances over to Nari. He doesn't say anything at first, simply disappearing and then reappearing with the use of shunpo behind Nari.]

[Seeing a white haired kid or perhaps young looking old guy get rained on was great in its own way. Having the unfortunate victim suddenly disappearing and then reappearing behind him? Hopefully Toushiro isn't too close, because being frightened tends to make Nari literally spark.]

What the fuck! Dude!....... how did you do that?

[Fortunately, he didn't stand too close. Being electrocuted isn't exactly high on his list, even if he can heal himself to some extent.

At the same time, when Nari talks to him, he raises an eyebrow.]

Teleporting. [It's close, somewhat, but he's not going to tell Nari the real name of the technique.] Or at least my world's version of it.

[Good, because he doesn't feel like playing doctor's kid today and patch anyone up.]

.... what the hell is wrong with people's worlds and this damn teleportation thing? Why can't ya'll be happy just walking around like normal people do!

[Toushirou just raises an eyebrow at him.]

And there are hardly any 'normal' people here.

[The voice is familiar, and Davesprite recognises Nari as soon as he sees him, but he also saw that network post the other day. At this point, he's not as sure how much of a jackpot coming back as a god is, but he gives him a lazy, two-taloned salute nonetheless.]

Hey. Or hey again, I guess, even if they must've gone Memento on your ass again.

[As for what he was doing, he turns the neon orange katana in his hand, his grip familiar and comfortable. He had been interspersing some flashstep in with his practice, so it bears clarifying.]

Depends which bit you mean, the unmannerly rhythms of swordplay that only come from years of practice in the deepest, most fuck-off isolated realms of wizened sword masters, or looking like the Flash but short-circuiting every other second.

A little bit'a both. With a katana it should be more slash-slash and not hack-slash. Poor sword ain't made for hacking.

That is not quite the best fucking question anybody ever asked, but it's up there, because I would also like to know what the fuck that even is about. I thought it was just shinki who got the on-death Eternal Sunshining, but obviously not.

[In any case, swords. Those are a thing, and Davesprite nods a little at his remark on the style of a katana.]

If you're into hack-slash you go for a heavier sword, katanas are too light and breezy for that shit but less hoity-toity bullshit than rapiers or sabers. But the flashing back and forth thing is all me, so I can't really offer any words of wisdom on that.

The big bosses don't tell anyone much of anything, so don't take it personally. It is a crying fucking shame haunting the asses of the appropriately deserving is off the table in this afterlife, though.

[And also because most of them aren't even in their own worlds, so they'd have to get back to do any ass-haunting.

Davesprite raises a brow at that particular remark.] Didn't know you were into horseback. Pretty sure you can see why that shit doesn't work so well for me, though.

[He wriggles the tip of the tail he has instead of legs, as if it wasn't obvious already.]

[Hakkai holds out a hand, eyebrows slowly rising as water splashes heavily against his palm (and his head, and his shoulders, and about a foot of ground around him.)]

[He glances over at the redheaded young man who's doing a very bad job of hiding his amusement, and smiles, utterly cheerful despite the deluge.]

What strange weather we have today! Do you suppose it'll clear?

[At least this person is taking it in an okay way.]

I dunno. Maybe it will, maybe it won't. [Which it will with a quick wave of his hand. And with another quick wave the water that the other was soaked with all collects in a puddle on the ground, not even touching the newcomers shoes. At least Hakkai will be dry now.]

[All right, now he's interested. He smiles, glancing down at the new puddle next to his abruptly dry shoes.]

Ah -- working on a new power? Or is this something you could always do?

[He moves his hand in a "so-so" gesture.]

Bit'o both. The storm thing is new. But it suits the god I am.

I thought you seemed a bit more practiced with the drying part. Susano'o?

[Nothing personal, Nari, but he has a bit of a grudge against that god. Perhaps a replacement will improve his reputation in the end....]

[That's Nari-- despite not having even thought about the guy in so long, the name is quick to come back to him. Anyway, a passing 'hi' wasn't in the plans. But that's Nari. That's Nari teleporting.

Correction: that's Nari attempting to teleport.

And this is Neji moving past the refreshment table over to where the guy's stringing together some colorful language or other, a brow raised and] There is nothing to trip over.

[Head snapping towards who said that, Nari huffs, looking a little queasy.]

People trip on air all the damn time.

[He snorts, and thinks the second to stall is good for him, somehow.] Not that I've seen.

[So-- another shinki turned god, then. It's not... sad, or anything. So why does he feel vaguely disappointed?] Teleporting isn't as easy as other gods make it seem, then, is it?

[He takes some deep breaths before answering.]

None of the other gods seem to have motion sickness. So fuck teleporting, why can't I just walk everywhere?

[....Nari, he fuckin' swears.]

[He's just lucky Chikusa wasn't holding his book when the raincloud suddenly formed over his head. For a second, Chikusa doesn't do anything, only sighs and lets his shoulders slump.]

[He was just passing through the area. Why does this happen to him.]

[It doesn't take long, however, before he reaches into his pocket and takes out a small box that can fit snugly in his palm. The ring he arrived here with flares blue for a moment- almost like fire but not quite- and the box snaps open. In a burst of energy, what looks like a white owl forms, and swoops up high into the air.]

[Keep an eye on that owl, Nari. Because it's aiming to swoop behind him, form suddenly covered in more of those blue flames which seem to transform into a small wave of water ready to crash over him. Rain Flames are a strange thing, their Tranquility factor leeching away speed, strength, and really energy at all.]

[Yes, Chikusa is this petty.]

[This guy has no sense of self-preservation, thus why this.

The owl is of concern, enough for a moment until there's sudden blue fire and water and oh gods what is going to happen if he gets hit by that????

Nari is going to attempt to awkwardly bounce out of the way of this strange water. Enough hits him that he hisses at the sudden sensation of being drained and he glares at the owl.]

...... water is a good conductor of electricity, bird-thing.

[AIN'T CALLING IT AN OWL BECAUSE OWLS DON'T DO THAT.]

[Mukurou goes over to flap by Chikusa, looking smug that it got any hit at all in. The teen himself just slides off his now soaked glasses.]
