July Training
Who: Everyone
What: Information and Training
When: August 5
Where: Bishamon's temple, the Far Shore
Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods (although there's none this time) and shinki

The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.
The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.
Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.

God Training
- Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.
Shinki Training
- Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.
Physical Training
- The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.
Rest and Refreshments
- There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.
There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

In Summary:
- Get all the information you can handle
- Veteran new gods and shinki are welcome to volunteer showing the ropes
- Get in some training
- Don't get dehydrated
- Spectate if you want
- Have fun~

[This is the first time You's actually gone to one of these training sessions. With wanting to be useful to Luna and training to be an idol, she hasn't had much time to do any actual shinki training. The only thing she thinks she's good at is endurance type training, so trying something new might be nice?
The pamphlet mentions borderlines. That is something You is definitely not familiar with, tying with a deep look of concentration to get the hand-sign just right.]
Mm... I don't know what a halberd is...
[Physical Training]
[This is far more up her alley! You is drawn to the staves, picking one up and twirling it around in her hand. It was close enough to a fishing spear without the pointy end. Hmm... was she able to fish like that? Would Luna be the one to ask since she knows how to use a trident? You isn't sure so she just stands there for a bit and looks rather deep in thought, staff in hand. Might want to suggest she actually train with it.]
[Rest and Refreshment]
This is so nice~
[You has claimed a spot for herself in the shade, towel draped around her shoulders. She's picked an energy drink for a quick pick me up but doesn't seem all too inclined on getting up right away after she's finished it.]
I didn't think shinki training would be so hard...

Because somebody's left the most adorable purple stuffed goat in the corner here, and its face is pointed towards You. Seems like she has a fan! ]
no subject
[That's such a cute stuffed animal! You walks over to it and kneels down, reaching out and petting it. Oh gosh it's soft.]
Did someone forget you here?
no subject
There might be a faint whirr sound from within it, but this is also a busy temple at present. So it's possible that noise came from something else. ]
no subject
Think of this staff like a really long baton! Those are easy to twirl.
[Standing far enough away so she won't hit the goat, You concentrates on spinning the staff with both of her hands for a few moments. Then she adds a little flourish and tosses it in the air. Since it was heavier and longer than a baton, so she misjudges the throw, and it clatters to the ground. She lets out a little nervous laugh and rubs the back of her neck.]
Maybe not. Guess I gotta practice that.
no subject
Though, is it a trick of the light, or did it just wheel back a pace? ]
no subject
This time she catches it perfectly.]
Ah! Got it!

[Sakon is mostly here to hang out and get in the way, so this is right up his alley. He leans over her shoulder to get a better look at the pamphlet.]
A halberd's a big pole with a blade on it. What's that got to do with this?
[Guess who's really bad at borderlines.]
no subject
The pamphlet says to shape your hand like a halberd. I think-[She moves her hand so it's like an L with the thumb and index finger.]-they mean something like this?
no subject
Yeah, something like that? Maybe two fingers?
[He tries it again and frowns. Maybe he should be going to the training sessions after all...]
Are there pictures?
no subject
No. Just descriptions of how to do it... Hmmm... maybe we have to really think hard about making a line?
[This would be easier if there was someone to show them an example.]
no subject
[He steps back and mimics how he did it before, minus the actual "making a line" part, then looks back down at the pamphlet.]
But maybe that's not the right way to do it?

Rest and Refreshment
You're telling me! Especially when you get a bunch of free stuff here!
no subject
Maybe they're trying to keep us happy with all of the free things?
no subject
[She said before shoving more food into her mouth]
I still want to get the best stomach ache ever!
no subject
[Moderation is a thing, Mabel, when you're older at least.]
no subject
[She said with a smile] Especially when there's food involved!
shinki training
[Don't mind the nerd sitting nearby, taking a break from practicing borderlines with a book in his hands.]
no subject
I don't know. It's the example they give in the book, so maybe?
no subject
[A shrug that's only barely visible.]
no subject
[That seems....... super simple.]
no subject
I guess it varies.

Shinki Training, Physical is fine too
Not quite what the pamphlet means, but maybe it'll help?]
no subject
So that's a halberd? [She holds up her fingers to mimic the angle of the halberd blades.] That makes a lot more sense. Thank you~
no subject
Dispelling the shadow halberd she makes the shape herself and then sweeps her hand. She manages to make a borderline, but it's a bit unstable and doesn't hold very long.
Also notable is that she didn't seem to shout like the pamphlets suggest.
