Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods (although there's none this time) and shinki



The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.
Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




God Training

Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

[Since arriving, Munakata has attended each one of these events so far and typically participates in both shinki and physical training. He's met and seen quite a few shinki who have trouble with borderlines even after having been around for some time, so he's immediately drawn by this young lady's proficiency. However, he's even more intrigued by the bright light blue sheen to her borderline. It bears some semblance to his blue aura, but he can easily sense that it's something different altogether.

He approaches wearing a seemingly pleasant smile, his tone polite as he comments,]

How impressive—and what an interesting color, too. What effect does it have, adding your own power to the borderline?

It did make the borderline look rather pretty, didn't it?

[ For as long as a shinki mechanic is encouraged, or strengthened, by the shinki's confidence, Botan will almost always have a bit of an edge. Which is why she's got this pleased smile for herself when accepting the compliment. Though it does go a little sheepish at the question. ]

I won't know for sure until it's put to the test. Theoretically, if a borderline is like a wall, adding one's unique abilities could make it something like an electric fence instead. Like an extra reason to not try pushing against it.

[He raises a hand, his fingers positioned like a halberd.]

What would happen if someone were to attack it with a cutting borderline?

I wouldn't mind a test.

[ While being honest, there's still the tone of hesitation in her voice. ]

However, I admit that I'm still rather new. While I'm confident in my borderline skills, I'm unfamiliar with cutting borderlines, or what determines how it's successful against a standard one.

I see. [He lowers his hand.] Very well, then. Perhaps a different kind of test.

[So he just... starts heading straight for her borderline, going to walk into it without any hesitation whatsoever.]

[ What was- Oh no. Given that Botan doesn't know it'd be like getting smacked back with a blast of energy, there was a high temptation to break the borderline. ]

I just needed the context to understand the weight of that sort of test.

[ Yeah, no. She's gonna cover her eyes with one of her hands for this. ]

[He stops just short of the enhanced borderline before reaching out to it with his hand. Naturally, the charge of spirit energy explodes right in front of him, but his own blue aura immediately shields him and contains the outward force of the blast.

Turning to the young lady,] Oya. I think it's quite effective.

[ Botan still flinches, unsure of what was about to happen. So it's easy to understand and expect the girl's relief when that shield came up. ]

As glad as I am to hear that, you really had me worried there.

[ Not enough to disperse the borderline, now was she? ]

[Letting out a small chuckle,] Is that so? Because it seems your curiosity outstrips your worry.

[He wonders if she would've dispersed it if he'd looked any less calm and confident about whatever he'd been up to.]

Now, shall I try with a cutting borderline?

Well, I can't help it if my need to understand is greater...

[ She certainly doesn't feel guilty over it, that's for sure. Botan doesn't even need to reassure herself of that. ]

You can. What determines whether a cutting borderline is successful against a standard, or strengthened, borderline?

[ Because if it's confidence, Botan surely thinks that she'll have a chance. In reality, it'll probably lead to quite the sonic boom of energy. Which, sure, borderline destroyed, but it sorta attacks back as well. Half success? ]

[That she's completely unrepentant about the situation is actually rather endearing.]

As far as I know, it's confidence.

[And the Blue King, even without his memories, is as self-assured as they come. However, there's no denying the young lady also has a measure of impudence that Munakata finds rather admirable.

So he positions his fingers like a halbard and lets one loose...




...and almost immediately has to shield them from the blowback energy from the impact destroying the girl's borderline and releasing an explosive excess of energy.

Ah, that... was actually quite fascinating and entertaining. With an amused expression, he hums before continuing,]

How do you like the result?

[ It's Botan's instinct to flinch and bring her arms up once the blowback was starting. So when nothing happens, she peeks over an arm to see the shield taking the rest of the force.

Aside from being a little dazed at the result, just a little, Botan is looking back to where the borderline was. ]

Honestly, I'd prefer it if that happened and my borderline was still there. I suppose you can only accomplish and stand against so much when you haven't even been here a couple of weeks.

[He's being sincere, though it might be somewhat hard to tell from the pleasant yet unaffected look on his face.]

Still, for having been here such a short while, you certainly demonstrate quite the potential.

[...It's probably not worth mentioning he hasn't been here much longer than she has, right?]

Until now, I hadn't even considered combining my powers with those of the borderline.

It's nothing to apologize about. That was just... unfortunate.

[ That just meant he had a little longer to get used to everything. She'll take the praise regardless of how long the guy was here for. ]

Well, it could be trickier for some people, depending on how the powers are focused. It was easier for me because I'm particularly talented at sensing energy, and the way it is.
