July Training
Who: Everyone
What: Information and Training
When: August 5
Where: Bishamon's temple, the Far Shore
Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods (although there's none this time) and shinki

The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.
The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.
Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.

God Training
- Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.
Shinki Training
- Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.
Physical Training
- The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.
Rest and Refreshments
- There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.
There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

In Summary:
- Get all the information you can handle
- Veteran new gods and shinki are welcome to volunteer showing the ropes
- Get in some training
- Don't get dehydrated
- Spectate if you want
- Have fun~
God Training
She doesn't seem to have changed.]
Of course. Unfortunately, I'm not much of a dancer.
no subject
[ Raising her shoulders with a sweetened smile in turn, she hums with some amusement. ]
I haven't seen you in quite some time! Mister Hakkai, wasn't it?
no subject
It has been a while. I hope you've been well?
no subject
Ah, you're as charmingly deferential as I recall. [ Shifting her stance to take the sides of her coat up into her hands, she bends her knees with a playful curtsey. ] I wouldn't recall enough of it to tell you confidently, I'm afraid. I've returned with a much more generous title than before, however; so I can't say that I'd complain.
[ Once upright, she shrugs, careless! ]
I want to say something has changed about you, as well!
no subject
[He reaches up to brush his fingertips across the cheek under his glass eye, raising his eyebrows. It's true: there's no name emblazoned there anymore, and that's a bit of a change to begin with. That's a frequent change, though, compared to the other.]
I've had a slight promotion myself; I'm representing Iron-crutch Li now.
no subject
But as her eyes follow the motion of his fingers, her mouth opens with an impressed croon. ]
So that's what it is! Good for you, darling! [ Grell claps those hands together once! ] It's quite liberating to be able to set one's own rules, isn't it?
no subject
[And less likely to end in terrible blight. Which is a nice change. He folds his own hands innocuously together, smiling at her.]
Speaking of shinki -- have you had the chance to meet yours yet?
no subject
Oh, that sounds all too familiar...
[ Which ends with a sigh, gaze traveling off somewhere as she shrugs. ]
I have. Can't say I'm as pleased with them as I'd been with my last assignment, but it isn't anything that I can't fix, I suppose.
no subject
[He smiles in response to her laugh; it's nice to have someone appreciate that particular bitter turn of humor.
He's a bit worried about her shinki, though.]
I hope it won't require too much work to, ah, "fix."
no subject
Yes, well, as do I! [ Grell shakes her head. ] My true specialty is battle technique; I simply cannot accept any slacking, on that front! You know♥?
no subject
[Not all. There are animal shinki, cloth shinki, shinki who have some control over their weapon shakes... but mostly, a god with skill with the weapon will overcome any lack of technique on the part of the shinki.]
no subject
You really think so? My former shinki were both rather competent, so I'd never found myself worrying about it!
[ It does occur to her that, as a former shinki, he'd know better - and as such, she finds herself nodding, without needing any further answer. ]
Well, fair enough! I'll need to give him the benefit of the doubt, then!
no subject
[He spreads his hands, chuckling.]
I'm sure he'll manage! May I ask his name?
no subject
Tobias, I think it was? Although, it isn't a lack of practice that concerns me, so much as it is nerve. Mousy thing, he is!
no subject
[Hakkai pauses, and corrects himself.]
Very mousy? Quiet unless directly addressed, and silent when you've called him into his weapon form? No apparent opinions?
no subject
Why, yes. It's so-- dull! [ Head lulling back, she lets out the most exasperated sigh! ]
no subject
They don't have much personality.
[He pauses, eyebrows editorially arched.]
Some people call them soulless, but I can't help but think that's a bit impolite.
no subject
As such, his words leave great impact on her! Finally, that term makes sense. ]
Oooh, I've heard talk of soulless shinki, now that you've mentioned it! [ A hand clapping to her cheek, she breathes a sound of realization. ] Well. Seems I should put the poor bloke out of his misery, then, but I imagine that would put me at a bit of a-- hindrance.
no subject
[Casually, he shrugs.] Besides, they are quite useful, if you don't mind a quiet companion.
no subject
[ But then, she's waving a hand to disregard the thought. ]
Either way, I would imagine that I should be worse off, should I take it upon myself.
no subject
[He might feel differently about it if his soulless shinki looked like anyone he'd ever liked... but he doesn't. So. Hakkai shrugs in answer to Grell's hand-wave.]
And that's certainly the case. But don't expect too much personality out of yours, at least, not unless we discover how to return them to their normal selves.
Regardless, I wish you good luck with him.
