July Training

Who: Everyone
What: Information and Training
When: August 5
Where: Bishamon's temple, the Far Shore
Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods (although there's none this time) and shinki

The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.
Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.

God Training

Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

In Summary:
  • Get all the information you can handle
  • Veteran new gods and shinki are welcome to volunteer showing the ropes
  • Get in some training
  • Don't get dehydrated
  • Spectate if you want
  • Have fun~

[In theory, Shun knows that he's supposed to be standing here and taking that shot to test his resilience. In practice, there's no way in hell his reflexes are letting that happen, and as soon as he sees the blue flames, he dives to one side, catching himself on a hand and flipping back onto his feet.

Privately, he adds Hitsugaya to his budding mental list of fire users, the count now being somewhere in the vicinity of "far too many".]

Keep going. [In case it wasn't obvious. If he throws enough shots, he'll have to hit Shun eventually, reflexes or not.]

[Instead of choosing to say anything in response, he holds out his arm as a bright yellow light begins to surround it.]

Bakudo no. 63: Sajo Sabaku.

[The yellow light turns into a rope of some sort before it follows after Shun at an incredible speed. Whether it's used to trap him or to hit him; it depends on Shun on how fast he can avoid it since it's likely to follow after him.]

[That works too. Again, Shun reacts as soon as he sees the energy start to move, dodging to one side and then continuing in motion once he sees it's not stopping. It is useful in itself to see how long he can hold out against something like this, especially when he can't afford to slow down any.

However, having to go at that speed means any wrong move is just about going to sink him, once he makes a misaimed turn to where another part of the rope crosses over his path. He moves to leap over it, but he imagines that's going to slow him down enough for the end of it to catch up regardless.]

[As Shun moves, he moves his arm a bit in order to better control the Kido spell. While not a difficult spell, Toushirou knows that if he doesn't put in enough concentration, it'll get gradually weaker until it finally hits something.

Either way, he has it keep going after Shun until the other can manage to avoid it entirely before the rope wraps around him.]

[Shun is right in his assumption, as it turns out; his forward momentum is enough to keep him out of reach of the rope, but as soon as he has to burn some of that on a jump, the spell catches up to him. He lets out a frustrated hiss as the rope curls around him, but it was going to happen sooner or later.

Given the point of this exercise and the kind of person Shun is, though, he immediately switches over to pushing out against the spell rope, seeing how much give it might have and whether escape is a possibility.]

[The only problem with a spell rope is that it isn't easily escapable, especially for a human who doesn't possess any spiritual energy to counter against it. Then again, Toushirou reasons that if Shun uses his god powers, it might do the trick.

However, he doesn't point it out. The whole reason for this is so that Shun can find ways to counter and fight against non-humans properly. When Shun pushes out against the rope, Toushirou tightens its grip while he holds out his other hand in Shun's direction.]

Hado no. 4: Byakurai.

[Sorry Shun, but white lightning shoots out and heading at him now.]
revolutionfalcon: (impending attack)

[Thankfully, while Shun doesn't follow the same line of thought, he does focus on drawing out his god power to use against the rope - given what it does, trying to use it against a binding is almost instinctive. The rope tightening only makes that more effective, given he needs to be in contact to decay something fully.

The spark of lightning captures his attention when it bursts out, and he grits his teeth, doubling down on pushing his power out against the binding. He'll at least try to jump out of the way whether or not it breaks, but he doesn't have much chance of making it the distance if the rope doesn't give. So he braces himself for the impact one way or the other.]

[Whatever Shun is doing, it works enough that it has the rope snap. It gives Shun more leeway, but Toushirou is ready to use the Danku spell if necessary.

For now, he watches closely, waiting to see what Shun will do now that the rope has snapped and disappears after it's been decayed.]
revolutionfalcon: (fly forth)

[personal profile] revolutionfalcon 2017-07-23 02:30 pm (UTC)(link)
[The first thing he does is, predictably, dive out of the way of the lightning strike, rolling to one side and kicking back onto his feet once he's clear. The next is to charge back at Hitsugaya - his opponent clearly has the long-distance advantage here, and the only way Shun has any hope of levelling it is by making it a tighter combat. He'd try to wear out his opponent if this was a more standard long-distance combat, but given their last fight, he doubts Hitsugaya's stamina would falter first of the two of them.

His movements are swift, but his steps are light and his muscles coiled in readiness to evade. He's absolutely expecting another spell to be shot at him before he can cross the distance.]

[When Shun rolls out of the way from the lightning, he sees him charging at him. Toushirou doesn't bother to move, his posture tense and ready to move if the human manages to catch up to him quick enough. So, he holds out his hand again, bright yellow energy that seems to crackle in the air gathering at the palm of his hand.

There is an evident surge as the yellow energy turns out to be lightning.]

Hado no. 63: Raikoho. [And a sudden surge of lightning aims at Shun at an incredible speed.]
revolutionfalcon: (uncertain)

[personal profile] revolutionfalcon 2017-07-24 01:35 pm (UTC)(link)
[That is about what Shun was expecting, and it's a damn good thing he does, because otherwise he wouldn't have had a snowflake's chance in hell of dodging it. As it is, he only barely manages out of hurling himself to one side once Hitsugaya's almost reached the end of the incantation, taking advantage of the "load time" that is the words to react at a point that would hopefully make it harder to reaim in that split second.

It disrupts his momentum a lot more than the last dodge did, but he still finds his feet soon enough and keeps on coming. He's still braced for another impact, too, because if he had trouble dodging at that distance, he's going to have a lot more trouble in that grey area between long distance range and actually being able to engage him directly.]

[personal profile] freezetheheavens 2017-07-25 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[He's fast. That's something that Toushirou can at least give him credit for. Unfortunately, the one thing about fighting non-humans is their own capability of not playing fair by their own rules sometimes. Teleportation is a god's power, so Shun may be able to react slightly faster. However, the idea is temporarily pushed aside as he starts up another spell.]

Hado no. 1: Sho.

[Extending his index finger out towards Shun, there's a flicker of bright light before it disappears. However, whether it hits Shun or something around him, something is going to get forcibly blown back.]

revolutionfalcon: (aggression)

[personal profile] revolutionfalcon 2017-07-26 03:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[At this point and with an attack like that, which Shun can't even see coming, he makes a split-second decision as to whether to teleport out of the way. However, with no guarantee that's going to let him avoid the attack when he has no clue if it'll be coming from Hitsugaya or whether the disappearance means it'll be coming from somewhere else, he settles on taking the chance and bracing himself while heading straight onwards.

...And promptly gets blasted back with a far from insignificant amount of force. That's actually relatively familiar to him, though, and he manages to correct himself mid-air so he lands on his feet, skidding back and straightening up looking about as unfazed as one can after being blasted halfway across a training field with no particular defense.]

[As Shun gets blasted back, Toushirou only takes a brief moment to ensure that he isn't damaged before he holds out his hand, palm facing Shun while his other hand is placed on his outstretched arm.]

Hado no. 58: Tenran.

[There's a flicker of a bright blue light before a tornado-like blast propels from his palm and aims at Shun.]
revolutionfalcon: (brave claw)

[Something that obvious is much easier to prepare for, at least, and this time Shun is ready for it. Not quite in the same way as he has been before, though - he's been mainly focusing on countering with no powers at all, but maybe it's time to test what abuse of his god powers can do.

As the tornado storms through his vicinity, Shun disappears in the blink of an eye, and reappears behind Hijikata at a much close range than he reached last time. Not missing a beat, he steps forward with the intent to deliver a hard kick to the neck, though depending on the speed of the counter he may not even make it to the kicking part.]
