July Training
Who: Everyone
What: Information and Training
When: August 5
Where: Bishamon's temple, the Far Shore
Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods (although there's none this time) and shinki

The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.
The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.
Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.

God Training
- Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.
Shinki Training
- Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.
Physical Training
- The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.
Rest and Refreshments
- There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.
There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

In Summary:
- Get all the information you can handle
- Veteran new gods and shinki are welcome to volunteer showing the ropes
- Get in some training
- Don't get dehydrated
- Spectate if you want
- Have fun~

Yosuke stays quiet in the face of the inexplicable answer, still busily studying the other's features for any sign of jest. When he finds none, he concedes defeat.]
... You're... serious, aren't you? [It's more a statement than a question, really. And at this point, Yosuke isn't sure which is weirder: the fact that this kid is a hundred times older than him-- or the fact that he actually believes him.]
How come you-- you know. [He tries so hard not to spell it out so as to not insult him. But, really, him waving a hand above the other's head to wordlessly communicate his intent is likely not any less insulting.] Look like that?
[Small. Young.]
no subject
[Honestly Yosuke, he can take the insults. And he's far more patient than he usually would be considering the circumstances.
He looks at him.]
In a way, I'm still young in terms of my world, but I'm dead and has been dead for at least a couple of centuries now.
[Anything else you want to ask?]
no subject
[Okay, now he's just confused. But also curious. Very curious. Yosuke has never heard of a country where aging is this drastically different. Or what, is the guy some sort of an alien? Hey, if gods exist then why not green - or blue - little men?
Anyway, he is about to ask more-- the name of the place he comes from, the details of this weird-ass aging process, anything... and then he hears that the guy is dead.
And all of a sudden, Yosuke feels like prying would not be such a great idea. He doesn't want to remember his own death - and he figures this guy doesn't either. So he substitutes all the questions he was about to ask with just one, and it comes out very abruptly:]
So... uh, what's your name?
[And to try and make the shift a little less awkward:] I mean, since we're gonna be working together and all, I think it'd... make sense to know what to call each other, right?
[There. Now it's a totally natural shift in conversation, from death to self introductions.]
no subject
Besides, he's used to being dead.
So, at the topic change, some surprise flickers in his eyes before he allows it.]
Toushirou Hitsugaya. Just call me Hitsugaya, though.
[They're not necessarily even close enough for the shinki to use his first name.]
And yours?
no subject
Yosuke Hanamura. [He pauses, uncertain, shifting his weight from one leg to another to buy a few extra milliseconds.] I... did hear that I'd be getting a new name from you or something, though. [He tries to sound casual, but it actually makes him sorta nervous. In retrospect maybe he should have been nicer to the guy about to name him.]
They said I'd need it to--- do some cool stuff. Apparently, we're supposed to be fighting some monsters or somethin', right?
[God, he hopes the people who told him all this stuff weren't all just messing with him to make him look stupid.]
no subject
He studies him, however, trying to get a better read on his new shinki. He's nervous, that much the god can already tell. In a way, it makes him wonder if Yosuke has seen the pamphlets that are usually distributed to shinki upon arrival or if he's met anyone who's given him enough information to work with.
But he does give a nod.]
The monsters are called ayakashi. They can only be killed off with a Rend spell cast by a god and shinki pair.
[Toushirou tilts his head to the side just slightly.] By giving you name, you take on a vessel form that will aid in fighting ayakashi.
[Considering that he's already faced off against a few ayakashi, he can confirm it.]
no subject
Ayakashi, right! [He raises his index finger in recognition.] That's the name. I heard they're causing trouble for the living. [And the dead, but he'd rather not think about the part where they eat shinki.
The stuff about... rending and becoming a vessel is still sort of alien to him, though.] So I'll turn into... something, and then we can use that rend thing to clean up those monsters. Sounds simple enough. [He nods. For now, he gets the gist of it.
But he does have one, somewhat unrelated question.]
... Hey, since you're a god, you have a temple, right? [Suddenly, he sounds almost excited.]
no subject
[In a way, he is curious about what kind of form Yosuke would end up taking.
But at the question, he raises an eyebrow and he nods.]
I do.
no subject
... Could this guy actually lift a war axe?]
Should we do that here? Or go to your temple? [And since he got started on that subject...] What's the temple like, anyway? Big?
[If it's not cool enough, he's totally gonna renovate.]
no subject
[but yes, Toushirou can lift a war axe. He's tiny and may seem lanky, but he's strong.]
We can do that at the temple. [A pause.] Yes, and it's on a mountain.
