July Training

Who: Everyone
What: Information and Training
When: August 5
Where: Bishamon's temple, the Far Shore
Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods (although there's none this time) and shinki

The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.
Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.

God Training

Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

In Summary:
  • Get all the information you can handle
  • Veteran new gods and shinki are welcome to volunteer showing the ropes
  • Get in some training
  • Don't get dehydrated
  • Spectate if you want
  • Have fun~

Doubt the big bosses are gonna tell me. Oh well. They probs got some super dumb reason. Like not tracking down your loved ones and haunting their asses.

[It's always great to know someone who actually know the weapons they wield.]

Sabers are good for horseback, so I don't mind them.

The big bosses don't tell anyone much of anything, so don't take it personally. It is a crying fucking shame haunting the asses of the appropriately deserving is off the table in this afterlife, though.

[And also because most of them aren't even in their own worlds, so they'd have to get back to do any ass-haunting.

Davesprite raises a brow at that particular remark.]
Didn't know you were into horseback. Pretty sure you can see why that shit doesn't work so well for me, though.

[He wriggles the tip of the tail he has instead of legs, as if it wasn't obvious already.]

So tight lipped and killjoy when it comes to fun. Got it.

[He didn't stick around long to ask them anything after the whole "Congrats! You're a god!" thing.

Cheeto with wings...]

It's a way to get around when you don't have any other form of transport, plus, I don't have to fucking teleport anywhere. [........] So. How did you get this form? Cursed? Born? Video game translating into real life mishap? Or don't remember because shinki thing?

Sounds about right, but with the amount of parties they throw don't say the killjoy thing to their faces.

[Also Davesprite is pretty sure Amaterasu isn't that bad, but to his knowledge he hasn't actually met her.

Davesprite's about to remark on the thing about teleportation when the questions start flying about how he got this form, and he raises his taloned hands to stem the flow before he even finishes.]

Mostly don't remember because shinki thing, but from what I have remembered, video game translating to real life mishap is the closest of those options. I'm a sprite, which is apparently a kind of game guide in my world, but I don't really know the details.

Why do they throw parties? That's like... kinda weird. None of the jobs back home I had threw parties unless it was for a retirement or a baby.

[Or are they just all that and a bag of chips about festivals?

Huh. Nari looks a little skeptical, then just shrugs.]

There's TV shows and movies about stuff like that, so I ain't surprised there's worlds where sprites are real.

I think it's supposed to be for morale or some kumbaya getting along bullshit. Never had the chance to ask. [And the old gods don't exactly tell unless they absolutely have to.

While Davesprite does nod somewhat seriously in regards to the "chances are there was going to be at least one world where that's a thing" point, he does tilt his head a bit as if it's not quite that simple.]

Are those usually half a dead crow and half a person Frankensteined together by some weird kernel thing, because I still feel like I'm a pretty unique case.
