July Training

Who: Everyone
What: Information and Training
When: August 5
Where: Bishamon's temple, the Far Shore
Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods (although there's none this time) and shinki

The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.
Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.

God Training

Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

In Summary:
  • Get all the information you can handle
  • Veteran new gods and shinki are welcome to volunteer showing the ropes
  • Get in some training
  • Don't get dehydrated
  • Spectate if you want
  • Have fun~

Tch, stalker.

[He is not fazed.]

Three or four.

[Nor is Shun fazed by being called a stalker, because as far as he's concerned all that means right now is that he's kept a close eye on information openly offered.]

So not that many. And I'm guessing whoever else it is can use the "blue" can't use fire as well. [He's never seen Reisi do it, and Eno is still an unknown factor, but Shun hasn't seen him use anything at all.]

Not as far as I can tell.

[He says, reaching up to scratch at the massive burn on his shoulder. If he let himself think about it, he knows he'd have a good idea as to why that is, given the tattoo under his burn.]

If they can, no one's told me.

[Interesting. So this guy has both for reasons he can't remember, and seems to be the only one that's the case for - he notices that movement to scratch the burn as well, but doesn't inquire about it, given he's usually reasonably cautious about pushing things with shinki. But the thing about the powers is definitely something worth noting for Shun, and he nods slightly at the predicament.]

Some of them might not tell you even if they could. It looked like the only reason you posted openly about it was because you had no idea what the hell was going on when that blue power came out.

[personal profile] monkeyblue 2017-07-24 06:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Pretty much. At least I got an answer that didn't turn me into an ayakashi. Someone else has something similar going on.
revolutionfalcon: (about time)

[personal profile] revolutionfalcon 2017-07-25 04:44 pm (UTC)(link)
So someone here had the same power and contacted you? [Reisi, Shun assumes. He definitely would have seen that post, and he's been trying to gather information - that often requires giving a little back. He could just mention his suspicion, but he'd rather hear what this guy has to say on it first.] Sounds like about the best you can do when remembering too much turns you into that.
monkeyblue: (Scoff)

[personal profile] monkeyblue 2017-07-25 04:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I read somewhere that sometimes shinki suddenly remember things and don't turn. Tch.

[So much disgust at this RNG bullshit.]

Unless that happens, though, I just get to wander around. Curious but afraid. Like a toddler.
revolutionfalcon: (derisive)

[personal profile] revolutionfalcon 2017-07-26 12:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I've heard about it happening before as well. It's been going on for a while. [Though he's not sure it started until just after he got here, given the first example he remembers hearing of was one of Hajime's old shinki.

There's a close to equally disgusted noise of agreement at that summary.]
Sounds about right. It was worse when nobody knew what the consequences of finding out about their past were, but this is hardly a big improvement. It's still garbage, we're just better informed.
monkeyblue: (Distress)

[personal profile] monkeyblue 2017-07-26 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
[Wait.]

They didn't tell you what would happen when people first showed up? Are they morons?
revolutionfalcon: (calm command)

[personal profile] revolutionfalcon 2017-07-27 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
They didn't. Took them until a few weeks after it happened to a Nora and affected multiple gods, and then they held a meeting to finally tell all the gods about it.

[And then, like with most other things, the information had come down to shinki from them.]
monkeyblue: (Chibi Defeat)

[personal profile] monkeyblue 2017-07-27 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
Tch, and they're supposed to be in charge. What did they think, that people would just accept what they said as gospel?
revolutionfalcon: (200% done and rising)

[personal profile] revolutionfalcon 2017-07-27 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
With the attitudes some of them have, probably. Even some of the better ones seemed surprised that we weren't just taking them at their word.

[He's pretty sure he remembers Suijin having a similar reaction, and by and large she's one of the easier old gods to deal with.]
monkeyblue: (Excuse Me?)

[personal profile] monkeyblue 2017-07-27 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
They have no clue how humans work, do they?
revolutionfalcon: (about time)

[personal profile] revolutionfalcon 2017-07-27 05:34 am (UTC)(link)
No, they don't. [That's said without hesitation.] Some of them use our different point of view to their advantage to find better solutions to what's going on here - like Suijin, who was half the reason that meeting to tell everyone about what really happens to shinki regaining memories even happened - but others just think we're a waste of space who can't possibly be on the same tier as them.

[Cough cough, Fuujin.]
monkeyblue: (Sulky Cute)

[personal profile] monkeyblue 2017-07-27 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
[Fushimi just stares at this god in mild horror and disgust because the more he hears about these old gods, the less he likes them.]

Then why even bring new ones in?
revolutionfalcon: (derisive)

[personal profile] revolutionfalcon 2017-07-27 11:53 am (UTC)(link)
They're not the ones doing it, apparently. They've got as little idea of what's causing this as we do.

[Right down to how people keep managing to get items and memories back, because he knows for sure that they wouldn't be allowing the latter if they could help it.]
monkeyblue: (Not Very Sane)

[personal profile] monkeyblue 2017-07-27 04:37 pm (UTC)(link)
...how the hell does this place function?
revolutionfalcon: (explanation)

[personal profile] revolutionfalcon 2017-07-27 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't ask me. I don't know how it didn't just destroy itself before we even got here.

[The apparent inability to adapt is about the furthest thing from reassuring something can get.]
