Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods (although there's none this time) and shinki



The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.
Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




God Training

Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

W-well, yeah! [He says that as if it's somehow a proper counter-argument on its own.

When her uncertain expression tells him that it's not, he tries again.] But you shouldn't just answer if the question's inappropriate!

[He-- can't really argue the food point any further, though. Somehow, it sounds like she knows more about the subject than he does. Oh man.] Fine, fine, I guess the point of a feast is to eat whatever you want anyway.

[And then he realizes the last point she made - and suddenly, he just has to argue again.]

Wait, wait, there's no way you can fight monsters with desserts though!

What'a inappropriate over asking about bodily functions? It's a pretty good question to ask considering our status now and all. I also found it weird we can still eat despite no longer being mortal, you know.

[Again, his outrage was so...out of place, but she supposes it proves he was more conscious over these matters. Maybe she was being too laid back for his tastes? He seems rather jumpy to her, to be quite honest.

She'll continue to enjoy her meal regardless of her partner trying to find a new subject to debate over. It was tough to tell if it were the case or not.]

How else are you going to have the energy to fight them? [Then again, she supposes.] Other than sleeping, that is. It's another fuel of energy that'll keep us from becoming their next meal. [Pointing her fork at him.] No matter in which side you may be in -- god or shinki -- you still need to look after yourself in way of eating and sleeping!

[Oh man. Yosuke finds himself embarrassed the longer the topic goes on -- which is totally not how this kinda thing should go! She should be the one getting embarrassed here! What if someone heard their conversation right now?]

I- I get it, I do, okay! [He raises his hands up in defeat. Well done, mysterious girl he's just met, your shameless ways have utterly defeated him-!] I'm sorry, so just... I get it.

[Eloquent as ever.

He's almost afraid to challenge the dessert point too now. Almost.]

You don't have to get all that energy from dessert, though. [And then there's a fork pointed at his face, and Yosuke finds himself at the receiving end of a lecture on sleep. Oh man. Oh man, how did this happen.

All he can really do is nod, defeated.]

Y-yes, m'am...

[drizzle]

...why are you apologizing for?

[The way he was putting up his hands in defeat as though he was apologizing was making her feel a little bad all of a sudden. Were they arguing? She certainly wasn't. She was only answering a simple question in her opinion.]

That's actually true! Desserts aren't our only source of energy. But I prefer being filled with treats than a heavy meal. Have you ever fought with your stomach filled with meat or soups? It's kinda uncomfortable.

[If anything else, she usually awaits for her food to settle down before going out to fight or answer any prayers.]

Because--! [He starts out all loud, then reasons that it's likely not worth it to try and explain. Instead, he groans.] N-never mind. Let's just drop the whole bathroom talk, alright?

[Before someone overhears them.]

I... haven't fought with a full stomach. I mean, normally people don't really have to fight at all, you know? [Geez, she's talking like she's been fighting for a while. Was she a martial artist before coming here or something?]

[drizzle]

Since you started it, sure, why not.

[All said just as casually as before, finding it a little funny that he was ending the conversation when he had started it. He was an interesting fellow in a over-conscious and jumpy kinda way.]

That's true. Normally, we don't, I suppose, but now we have to. It's for the sake of the living, after all. We're now responsible for their safety.

[She barely has any memory of her past life, but somehow the idea of having to fight for the sake of others was very natural to her. Almost as if she has lived that way before. At the very least, she didn't find it out of place when it was introduced to her.]

[Did-- did she have to remind him that he started it?! Seriously, he can't tell if this girl is really this tense - or just very masterfully messing with him.]

Well, yeah, when you put it like that... [For all her denseness, she sure could sound dependable when she wanted to, though.

And, honestly, Yosuke doesn't at all mind the thought of fighting to save the living - on the contrary, it's a super cool concept. Something he feels he's meant to do. He just... really hopes he's cut out for it. He can't say why, but he feels as if he's already failed in something similar before.

He shakes his head to dismiss that thought, then turns to the food table.] Alright, if it's for the sake of saving others, guess I've no choice but to dig in for real. [He turns to her with a grin.] And, fine, a small dessert probably won't hurt either. What do you recommend?

[drizzle]

[Finally! A language they both can understand. And this time, he seems to have mellowed out. A lot. It's enough to get a bright smile out of her.]

Now you're talking! Dig in. I recommend taking this time to eat as much as you can. You may need it.

[Depending on the type of god he was given, he may not expect to find this feast until the next greeting. She's overjoy over the fact that any one can join in on the feast and training; it wasn't completely saved for the very new.

His next question will leave her thoughtful. She can't help take her time to think about it.]

...I really like them all, but if I had to choose... [She'll use her fork to point at the pastries with ice cream in them, jello, or ice cream itself with a more beaming smile.] Anything frozen! It's really good. I don't think I've ever had it before. Ice cream, sorbet, gelato, and parfaits are the best to help you keep cool and satisfied!

[Maybe it's good he finally gave up trying to argue and just gave in to her eccentricity. Her smile's definitely worth it.

And, well, the more time he spends looking at the food, the hungrier he gets.] Hmm, anything frozen? [He repeats in thought, going over the things she's pointing out.] It... is kinda hot, so I guess ice cream isn't a half bad idea.

[He takes the chocolate flavour, while also surreptitiously gathering some actual food on his plate. There's all sorts of stuff from Japanese food to foreign... and some of it he's never seen before. They really went all out.] Do you get buffets like this often here?

[It was clear from her reaction that anything frozen was the best option to get to defeat any summer days. Nike will silently observe him take as much of the offered food as he can. She was glad to see he wasn't exactly a picky eater. A good detail to have in a fellow food enthusiast!

Nike will continue to eat from her plate. Hoping to have room to try some more of the unknown dishes too. She couldn't allow him to get too far ahead of her in that department. But, when he begins to ask about the buffets, Nike will nod her head first, giving her time to swallow whatever she was eating.]

Only on training days, I think. Just keep an eye out on when new arrivals appear. Like you have today. Otherwise, you'll have to rely on the income of your god. Hopefully, you had someone that has been around for a while than being entirely new.
