[ There's quite a bit that could be said, to that! That William expected a response of her, that even she was shocked at herself for not giving, might indicate that he's more perceptive than he lets on. Perhaps they know one another better than she'd realized.

At last, gathering herself to look at him once more, she takes a steady breath, in turn - and reaches out to pull him into an embrace.

Grell is expecting that she might be pushed into the water for it, but she'll try, all the same. If he'll allow it, she'll quietly pull him into her arms, hands resting at his back, chin atop his shoulder. Firm, yet gentle.

It still unsettles her to see him in this state. She doesn't wish for him to be unhappy, and selfish thoughts aside, she can feel his grief. Perhaps she needs this moment just as much. ]
