[ William remains quiet as Grell speaks, absently watching her rummage through the bottles of liquor. Perhaps it was foolish of him to think that, with the earlier admission of her feelings, he'd begun to understand the way she thought.

Grell, on her own, was such a contradiction. And William, hardly wavering from his usual mindset, couldn't be expected to place all those mismatched pieces of Grell's mind together in a way that formed any sort of logical image. He's unsure why, but that fact is almost saddening.

Perhaps he really doesn't understand his own mind, either.

Quietly, he stands, replacing the fallen cushions to their original spots before grabbing that hideous sequined blazer of his. He was probably going to burn the retched thing when he got home. ]


I will return to my own temple, then.

[ Anything more he says in this moment can't possibly help rid the air of such a thick and awkward tension. ]
