Who: OPEN TO ALL! The open invite was sent over BBS to everyone you can hand wave that you saw it. Come enjoy the hospitality of a god of light! Bring all your gods, goddesses, shinki and spirit animals.
What: Beach Barbecue! At some point there might be a need for some gods to help destroy a certain pesky giant fish ayakashi that has somehow wandered in and wants to destroy the temple...
When: The evening of April 2nd and the morning of April 3rd!
Where: Baldr’s Temple!

[ House Mingling ]

Laid out in the kitchen is a large variety of snacks and drinks for everyone to help themselves to. So sugar up and enjoy! There is also a collection of strange Japanese snacks that Sora thought were hilarious. He doesn’t promise any of it actually tastes any good though:

In addition, there is also a Nintendo Wii U with various games that are open to anyone to play. These games include but are not limited to Mario Kart 8, Mario Party 10, Guitar Hero Live, Puyo Puyo Tetris, Wii Sports and Zumba Fitness: World Party.

[ Beach Barbecue ]

Baldr’s temple sits on a shoreline with a dock floating into the ocean. The soft sand is warm during the day but when the sun sets it gets rather chilly. A bonfire has been started to keep the beach occupants warm and the cooking starts as soon as the sun sets. Everything from burgers to hotdogs are available for eats.

The water is very cold when the sun is gone so don’t be pushing people into the ocean unless you want people to get colds. (can gods and shinki get colds?) There also might be rumors of a giant purple fish ayakashi that gobbles people up is in the water, but who knows if that’s true?

Couches, hammocks and pillows are also available for beach time snuggles if you need the private space to chat.

Somewhere someone is setting off firecrackers and sparklers. Join in and set a few off but don’t set yourself on fire!

[ GIANT PURPLE FISH AYAKASHI ]

It's true.

Sometime later in the evening when everyone is out on the beach enjoying the weather and the cool night air, there is a soft rumbling that comes from somewhere over the ocean. The rumbling goes unnoticed at first maybe attributed to the dock creaking or the waves changing wind. But soon the rumbling gets stronger and stronger and the waves become violent, lapping dangerously at the shoreline.

Soon there is a loud screeching noise that erupts from somewhere over the waves. The water parts and a giant ayakashi breeches the surface and leaps effortlessly into the air. Ugly round eyes cover its body staring in all directions and surveying the beach. Then the fish falls back into the water causing a rippling of violent waves to crash against the beach.

It's silent for a moment.

Then the rumbling gets louder. The fish is getting closer. Fast.

[ Epic Blanket Fort Battle ]

Upstairs, a gigantic epic blanket fort has been set up. If you’ve brought your own blankets and pillows they’ve been added to the pile. Inside are tons of pillows and movies to watch. Cozy up with a friend or snuggle up and fall asleep.

Or better yet, challenge someone to a pillow fight and claim victory as a pillow warrior champion. Unearthly divine powers are permitted and encouraged. Shinki usage is also permitted granted you don’t break the house.

Whatever the case, pajamas are mandatory to enter.

[ Morning Waffles ]

If you haven’t passed out by now be ready for the biggest breakfast extravaganza of your afterlife.

There are waffles stacked up high with all the fixings such as fresh strawberries, nutella, whip cream, banana slices, jams, cinnamon sugar and chocolate chips.

There is also fresh fruit smoothies of every variety. Yum. That not your thing? There is also tea and hot chocolate.

Morning waffles is also open to anyone who didn’t want to come the night before for some reason and want to come for the deliciousness only. Because who doesn’t like waffles?

And contrary to popular belief, this is the only dish that Sora can cook well.

[ WILD CARD ??? ]

Dunno what you’re doing but Sora doesn’t care as long as you are cozy and have fun.

Just don’t steal anything. He's a trusting person, okay?

[House]

[Sora can be found bustling around the kitchen. He’s left the front door open so people are allowed to come and go as they please. He’s got a stick of pocky sticking out of his mouth while he laughs at the various reactions people have to his horde of funny snacks.

Come say hi and he’ll probably ask you to try something!]

[Barbecue]

[When the food starts and the sun is gone, Sora can be found sitting near the fire getting ready to eat his dinner. He’s not great at cooking so he’s probably pawned that task off to ~~Roxas~~ someone else.

But feel free to sit down and chat with him while he gets ready to set off his firecrackers.]

[AYAAAAAAKASHI]

[The rumbling startles Sora immediately. How did an ayakashi come out this far? Did it cross the ocean? Concerned, Sora gets to his feet and summons his keyblade. There was no way he was going to let this ugly jerk crash his get together.

But it was massive. Could he do this alone? He’s definitely going to need a buddy or two to help him beat it back.]

[Pillow Battle]

[You were thinking it. Was Sora really serious about letting people battle inside his house? Of course he was. He takes pillow fights very seriously. This time he’s going to give it all he’s got which includes using godly powers. You wanna try taking him on?

He clutches his pillow like a keyblade and playfully grins at you.]

You ready?

[Waffles]

[Sora was wondering if he should make morning waffles at his temple a daily thing. Or if he could add “god of waffles” to his already long job title. Wouldn’t that be neat?

Sora is found in the kitchen the next morning, cooking a pile of waffles for everyone. But he’s sleepy. Really sleepy. His hair is a mess and his eyes look droopy.

But don’t worry the waffles still taste great. He piles a stack high for you and passes it over.]

Good morning!

[Sonic's late to the party, but hey, at least he came, right? First thing he does is seek out Sora on the beach, carrying a bag of ginormous marshmallows.]

[Which he promptly tosses at Sora's head] Brought you a present, Sunshine.

[Barbecue]

[There are fireworks. This is the kind of thing Axel's here for: okay, yes, also the food, and he's got a pile of weird snacks balanced on his plate several paces back, but fireworks.

He's arranging a group of fountains with great care, with fans of sparklers stuck in the sand behind them, to make the best home firework extravaganza anyone has ever seen.

This is going to be so cool, you guys. So cool. Especially because once he's done with all of this setup, he can back off twenty feet and set them all off at once.]

[House Mingling]

[Axel's got sand in his hair and stuck between his toes, and that means the beach hangout time's done as far as he's concerned. He's sprawling out on the couch, navigating his way through Mario Kart menus and eating cheese-dusted corn chips, and the moment anybody walks by him he's going to be pointing dramatically.]

Hey! You! C'mon, take the other controller!

Shit. Where'd that thing come from?

[Axel skids to a stop next to Sora, sparks flying around his hands as he gauges the size of it. It's not a normal fish, is it? It's an ayakashi. He tilts his head at the Keyblade in Sora's hand.]

Tell me that's your shinki.

[You're not going after an ayakashi the size of a house with a regular weapon, are you?]

[BEACH]

[ What good's a beach party without drinks? Gojyo had followed his nose to the barbeque, but he'd run home immediately to fetch several bottles of wine from his storehouse. Because he's just that kind of a good guy, okay.

Look old enough to drink? Have a bottle! Don't look quite old enough? ...He won't tell if you won't.

Come, kick back, get some sun, have a drink! It's a beautiful day. ]

[BEACH -- adult ladies version]

[ There's a couple couples already sparring down at the water's edge -- the chick on the guy's shoulders, trying to knock the other chick/guy pair down. It looks like a fun game, doesn't it?

Gojyo grins at the pretty lady next to him, and pats his own back. ] Hey, climb up! I bet we could take 'em!

[At first, Ayumu just looks puzzled by the scene but she has to admit that it does look kind of fun. And fun is something she's trying to become more acquainted with. After a moment, she nods with a laugh.]

Sure. Why not?

[Ayumu tries to get a solid grip on him and start climbing up onto his shoulders. For someone accustomed to running across rooftops and scaling walls with only a kunai, it's easy enough. Of course, whether Gojyo is used to be climbed so readily is another matter.]

[It bonks Sora right in the head and he turns to look, dropping his firecrackers for the bag of marshmallows. There's a sudden ecstatic grin on his face.]

Whoa you brought them! Alright! These are gonna be the best smores ever!

[He then looks up at Sonic and raises an eyebrow.]

Uh, what's with your hair?

[ You know, he's really not? But he's used to standing still until all kinds of conditions and that, plus the promise of having a pair of legs around his head, means that Gojyo does a very good impression of a wall until Ayumu is in position. ]

All right! Let's show 'em how it's done!

[ He has to admit, he's impressed. She's strong -- and flexible, too! His thoughts might not be the cleanest at the moment, but he's no creep -- he rests his hands on her ankles to steady her (not that she needs it!) and jogs down to where the damp sand gives a firmer footing.

There's one guy/gal couple who have been besting all takers. She's wiry and he's gym-buff, and they're far too proud of themselves. Gojyo pats Ayumu's foot, murmuring up at her under his breath as he approaches their competition. ] Don't worry, I won't let you fall.

Uh- [Sora looked down at his keyblade and frowned. No it wasn't. He wasn't sure where Riku Replica was at the moment but the fish was coming in way too fast for Sora to go look for him. What now?]

No- crap, what should we do?

[There was no way he wanted this fish to hurt anyone or to crash into his temple. He grits his teeth.]

[sigh] They're not that great for smores, since the insides don't cook as evenly as the smaller ones do, but I'm sure you're not going to listen to me and try it anyway.

[then he arches an eyebrow, putting one hand on his hip and cocking it to the side] What about my hair? Is there something wrong with it?

[His hair isn't pulled back into its usual topknot, of course. While Sonic wasn't as sold on the braid as Hajime seemed to be, he was perfectly okay with just leaving it in for the day. Just for Hajime's sake.]

[Sora just stares for a few more seconds before bursting into a fit of laughter.]

Didn't know you were a goddess!

[Sora slows to a chuckle, and wipes his eye.]

No really, it looks neat.

Step one, get out of the way!

[Axel grabs Sora's shoulder, spinning him and shoving him sideways.] Don't just stand there and wait for it to come right up into the surf! Uh --

[Step two. Step two. Uh. He chews his lower lip, and spins around to stare at the fish. A finger-snap, and flame blazes up like a corona around its fin. It doesn't seem to mind much, and Axel swears.]

Step two -- you really don't know where he is?

Shit. You can name me.

[If that thing bellies its way into the barbecue it's going to hurt a lot of people before they're ready to fight back, Axel thinks, and scowls.]

[If Sonic rolled his eyes any harder, they'd probably fall out of their sockets. Sure, he wasn't dressed in a hypermasculine fashion, but he didn't think it mattered all that much. His legs looked great in the cat tights and short shorts]

Yeah, whatever. [he stomps over to Sora and grabs the back of marshmallows, ripping it open and pulling out a marshmallow] Are you going to stuff this in your face or not? Because from where I'm standing, your mouth isn't big enough for it.

What? No that's-

[Sora's about to argue because that would mean going Nora- Nora's weren't the most respected souls around the shores and Sora doesn't want to think about that.

But he doesn't have time to argue as the giant fish gets closer and he can see giant fins peaking out of the waves. Any minute now and it would jump onto shore.

First things first then... lure it down the beach and away from anyone.

Sora runs to the shore edge and as he did he broke into Limit Form, his clothing changing and his stance adjusting. He then executes strike raid, throwing his keyblade towards the fish and nailing it right in the fin before his blade boomerangs back. It wouldn't do any damage but it was a start.]

Over here you big ugly blockhead!

[The waters ripple violently and Sora books it down the shoreline. Luckily the fish changes course as well, pinning Sora in its sights.]

[As it happened, Sonic was already on his way to explore the wonders of Mario Kart, as recommended to him by Kurama. Axel's pointing brings him up short, then he snorts and shrugs, closing the distance and taking a seat next to the Nobody.]

Well, if you insist, I suppose I could indulge you this time. [He picks the controller up with confidence, but a problem quickly becomes apparent: he has no idea how to use it]

Um. [He glances over, fighting back an embarrassed blush] How... how does it work?

I bet I can eat two of these at once.

[Sora slaps the ground next to him, commanding that Sonic sit with him and takes the marshmallow.

He wasn't the type to back down from challenges and he hadn't forgotten about this one. But he takes a second marshmallow out and holds it out to Sonic.]

But if I do this you have to, too!

Aw, haven't played before, huh?

Here, you hit that button to speed up, and use that joystick to move back and forth.

[Axel leans over, pointing out controls.] And that one to select stuff, like on this screen it wants you to pick your character and your car.

[He grins, a little evilly.]

You'll pick it up quick!

[And even if he kind of sucks at this game he is so scoring a few wins while Sonic figures it out.]

[How'd he change clothes like that?! Axel stares for a moment, then breaks into a full-out run. He's not gaining on Sora -- Sora's moving pretty fast, like he got a speed boost from that outfit somehow too -- but if he does his best he can still keep up, a dozen paces behind.

He flings quick handfuls of fire at the fish as he goes, wishing he had a decent throwing weapon: it was way easier to center the fire on something physical than just shape it into balls, and it'd be so much easier to throw that way. With the fish moving too, he just can't get a good enough line on it to ignite it directly, plus, it wouldn't do any good to lure it that way.]

Tell me there's an actual plan!

There's no way you can, your mouth is too teeny tiny. [He sits down with a smirk, crossing one leg daintly over the other. The marshmallow completely disappears in the blink of an eye. Where did it go?]

[Crossing his eyes and wrinkling his nose, Sonic pulls back the corners of his mouth, making a face at Sora, and showing off that the marshmallow is already in his mouth]

[Sora continues to run, his first priority was to get the giant fish away from everyone up at the house. He didn't want anyone getting hurt at his own temple.]

Just run!!

[The fish was still following him in the water. When Sora was satisfied he was far enough away from the temple he stops and turns to the shore, keyblade still gripped.

He wasn't sure how he was going to get out of this one without Riku Replica. Maybe if he could just beat the fish up enough that it ran away.

The fish then leaps out of the water again making a strange sound as it did. Somehow Sora didn't notice that it had grown a strange pair of frontal legs. It slams down onto the beach and starts for Sora, fast.]

[Sora burst out laughing again. He wasn't expecting Sonic to be so good at that. What the heck.]

That's gross!

[But that was the name of the game so Sora took his and starts to try to shove the entire thing in his mouth. It...doesn't work that well. He gets about a bit more than half before he starts choking on it.]

[This is not even the weirdest thing he's put in his mouth. Or swallowed whole. Because yes, he did, in fact, manage to swallow it whole.]

[And it's a good thing he did, too, because watching Sora struggle stuff a single marshmallow in his mouth sends Sonic into a fit of giggles. He covers his mouth and wraps an arm around his stomach, trying his best to hold it in, but he only ends up snorting instead]

[Sora whines at the back of his throat at Sonic's laughing and kicks out a foot to shove Sonic's side with.

But he was determined. He pushes more, getting sticky mess all over his hands and face. His cheeks balloon up like a overstuffed chipmunk. After getting a few bites into the thing he finally manages to get it all in.

Then he garbles,] SHUPPYBUMMMY!

[He means Chubby Bunny.]

[Barbecue]

[After cooking most of the food ~~because Sora would kill everyone~~, Roxas is sitting off in a quieter area with his dinner. Parties are exhausting, and he's still trying to get over the fact that there was no catch to these parties like back in Koriko.

When eating is done, he's still tucked away in a corner somewhere watching the water. At least he's enjoying that much.]

[House]

[It's his first time here, So Roxas is taking in everything about the inside of this place. It's the opposite of his temple, that's for sure. Definitely a lot warmer. He is probably going to be mostly a wallflower and just watch everyone have a good time and mingle.]

[Waffles]

[Roxas... had actually stayed the night. Surprisingly. Yes, he had promised Sora he would, but Roxas is exhausted. So many people in one place made it hard to sleep now. At least at Naminé's he knew the people who were lying about.

The lack of sleep is making this guy rather grumpy. He's glaring at the plate of waffles in front of him, planning on how he can Sora pay for convincing him to stay the entire time.]

[Sonic goes over easily and with loud, shrill peals of laughter, which only grow louder at Sora's exclamation. He can't even talk, he's laughing too hard, all he can do is point and giggle and roll around on the ground.]

[Oh gosh, there are tears in his eyes. He cannot remember the last time he laughed this hard]
