[Roxas wasn’t all too sure what he really was supposed to be doing to help someone study. The kids never gone to school himself so… whatever this student was going over was foreign to him. Calculus? Advanced English? Physics?

To be honest Roxas has only really studied animals, animal husbandry, cooking, archery, and read a ton of manga back in Koriko. Yet he and his shinki are here to help this poor guy study. He looks over at Raichi with a completely lost expression.

This guy was Japanese. Did he know what this student was trying to learn? Or was it like the death he saw... and Raichi knows less than he does? Guys into sports didn't seem that smart. Hinata was proof of that back in Koriko. All about volleyball, but that was about it.]

I don’t get how we’re supposed to help… Should we cheer him on?

[Because that’s all Roxas can think of doing.]

[Whether or not he knew the sorts of things that this kid was studying before he had died or not, Raichi gets the feeling he wouldn't really be able to remember.

Even still, just thinking about studying hard, trying to organize that sort of work, such intense problem solving... it's just too much! It's enough to fry his mind as it is. Cheering... is probably the best thing the pair of them can do, right? That'll be a great way of helping out!]

Yeah, that should work...! [Is there anything else they could do? Hmm.] Maybe we can... keep their pencils sharp. [It's... it's worth mentioning anything that might help with this pair in particular.]

[.... yes! Keeping things nice and organized and at hand would be great! But...]

... what if he freaks out? Might think there's a ghost in here.

[They need a way to keep the kid focused, first.]

[Ah, right.... he probably won't even really notice that they're there, huh? Still! It's a good plan, right?!]

We'd just have to be sneaky about it!! [Dude, when you say it that loudly, it's not really confidence inspiring in regards to 'sneakiness'.]

And food's supposed to help with studying too! Isn't it?

[Is that something he inherently knows from experience? Something he may have heard once? Or is he just hungry himself? ~~Definitely that last one, but still.~~ It is... Also not a suggestion that wouldn't raise suspicions over the room having a ghost in it, but he doesn't seem to realize it.]

Food's no good. Maybe little snacks he thinks were there the whole time? Like chips or cookies?

[That's study food, right? Or are you supposed to go healthy with studying?

This whole prayer is a mess... Time to cheer?]

.... Let's cheer quietly enough where he won't panic!

[What the heck is a 'healthy snack'???]

Right! Quiet! [Not quiet...] We can do that! [(unsure)]

[No idea! Snacks mean eating, and eating was healthy. Roxas might be a vegetarian, but even he likes variety in the food he eats.]

... I don't know how to cheer quietly.... how about we make sure that nothing will bother him. Like, making sure the windows and door are really tightly shut!

[Eating is healthy. You've got that right.]

Eh? Really? [As if he's one to talk, he'd probably just put all of his enthusiasm into cheering no matter how quiet you told him to be. Oh well...] But doors and windows, that's easy! [0 nuance requierd, he couldnt ask for a more perfect task.]

[Roxas will check the door, opening it and peeking out into the hall. The house was pretty quiet already. Was everyone in bed? That makes things easier.]

...... Raichi, I'll be right back, okay?

[He sneaks out into the hall and decides that maybe a snack was a good idea. Oranges would work!]

Eh? [Where's he going? But, all right...!] Got it! I'll be... right here!

[Where else would he go? Jeez...

But, while Roxas is off attempting to pilfer something healthy for the kid to eat, Raichi does as he says, and stays in the room. First, making sure the windows are shut tight, no noise coming through, but then he gets a little curious. By the time Roxas returns, it's very likely he'll find the shinki watching awfully intently over the kid's shoulder, trying to make heads or tails of the work at hand.]

[When Roxas comes back, he stops and stares. What... is Raichi doing?]

You okay there?

[This is probably the most still he's ever seen Raichi be. Was this kids homework really that fascinating?]

[It's true, sitting still and being quiet aren't things he's typically any good at, but having something stationary to put his focus on helps. When Roxas speaks up, Raichi leans back a little to throw his focus back over to him.]

I'm trying to figure it out!

[Maybe if he can, they'd be able to help the kid better? But it's not really paying off very quickly... Alas.] It looks... complicated.

[Roxas is curious now, so he walks over and looks over the problem as well. It all looks complicated. Though he does spot something that doesn't seem quite right.]

I think he forgot to carry a number over. See?

[He points to the number in question and the student jumps. Roxas is quick to pull back and moves away as the student looks around in a panic. A few moments later he rubs his eyes and looks back over the problem. The student then gasps and nods, erasing most of his work before redoing it.]

Uhm... I guess we helped?

[A ghost just helped you figure that problem out, student! Isn't that great?]

Oh! That makes more sense. [Maybe it does, anyway. He leans in again, watching him go over the problem with a little more ease this time around. Everything in the equation looks like it's falling into place a little easier, though Raichi still feels a lot like he doesn't really get why it's doing what it's doing.]

Does he... add those last few numbers together now?

[Addition is, thankfully, a pretty easy concept, even with no memories of learning about it in school to fall back on. We're learning! What an educational excursion!]

[Indeed it's so, as well as the original problem being rewritten to make sure the right answer was reached.]

[Why is this so hard??????]

[Because math is terrible.]

[If it were him, he'd probably just move on after finishing it once, rather than doing it again. Sure is a good thing shinki aren't required to go to school.]

This kid's smart. [A small nudge of cheer and encouragement! Clearly these math skills and diligent study habits are worthy of admiration. Raichi's 105% sure he wouldn't be able to hold himself to doing so much mental work for this long.]

... how do we know when we're done?

[Really. Have they helped the guy yet? Maybe?]

[That is... a good question. Um.]

Do we just stick around until he's done, maybe?

[It sure feels like they've helped already, but maybe they can do a little more? It couldn't hurt, right?

Unless this kid is planning on pulling an all-nighter, or something like that.]

We can if you want. If he stays up all night we can just sleep all day tomorrow.

[Which he was kind of planning on doing anyways. This math was killing him...]

[Sleep all day? What a luxurious sounding plan.]

I could do that! [Does he mean the staying up part, or the sleeping part? Who knows! Probably just both.] If you wanna, we can stay. [Since, you know, it's probably a god's final call over the shinki's.]

... No, I think we're good. The problems he's got left look just like that one. So let's go home!

[Because bed sounds nice right now.]

[Sounds like a great plan! Raichi nods in agreement!

But first let's... scoot that orange Roxas brought back with him a little closer to the kid. A reward for a job well done, perhaps!]

[Or a terrifying discovery because it wasn't there before.

Roxas put his hand on Raichi's shoulder. As much as he hates it, teleporting is the fast way back home.

Who knows if this kid will actually pass.]
