[ He’d been mistaken. The world was still off kilter, but surprisingly thorough sense of outrage her sentence provokes is grounding. Bad enough someone thought to force them on another detour, to split them up. Worse that they were fucking around with people’s minds.

Something about it happening to one of his party hits a nerve he didn’t know he had, a wound from when he’d faced down Ukoku that still hasn’t entirely healed.

His attempts at deflecting with a show of bad temper cease entirely, voice going quiet and intent as he says something he certainly wouldn’t to anyone other than his only peer:

[ Well, he’ll try to.

He isn’t sure of how much trouble Gojyo has caused or how he’s going to handle him yet, but he knows it’s necessary. He can only imagine that Hakkai has been worse than useless in this situation, and this isn’t Sharak’s problem. (And, if he had to guess, she no doubt made it her problem in whatever amount of time Genjo hadn’t been here.) Planning has never been his strong suit, but he’ll make it work.
