They keep saying they're not the ones doing it. It'd be more convincing if they actually found proof of other people doing it, but it's not like they ever took responsibility for bringing us.

[Which probably validates the suspicion to them, but not to anyone else. Then again, there's very little about the relationship between old and new gods that tends to be valid to anyone else.]

Flattery doesn't get you everywhere.

This is as good an opportunity as any to have you try something new.

[ She's going to motion him to wait a moment before disappearing into the crowd again and coming back after a moment. She's brought one piece of ikura sushi and some caviar on a small blini. ]

Here. Ikura's on the left. On the right is caviar. I only took a small bit of each just in case neither meets your approval.

[ So people do go home... in a way. She feels the fondness in Hibiki's tone. Her teammates seem to mean as much as PriPara does to her. There's a smile there as she closed her eyes. ]

If that's the case... I shall leave it up to you to help restore my memory. Hopefully that comes with my true potential.

Well, it's clear he did an excellent job.

[ There's a smile back before she offers him her hand. ]

[ She is reaching her limit of how much of this she can watch. So Hibiki might leave him to it. ]

[ Cue look of confusion here because... wow does heaven really have all types. He does seem to hesitate slightly though before thinking about how best to answer Tunks' question.

He decides to go with something... like a kind of explanation. ]

It's said that Satan's domain burns with fire and brimstone. Blue fire is caused by a chemical reaction that occurs when sulfur is burned.

[ Hibiki smirks, helping herself to a snack as a tray passes. ] A mere God of Fortune is beneath my shinki's attention.

[ He's a young kid with a healthy constitution. He'll be okay. ]

I'm not sure if it helps that my shinki and I are kind of already in hell to begin with.

[ Did he just make a funny? He tried to make a funny.

But he does nod, sipping at his coffee. ]

So Hannah's a... nora? That's what I heard them call shinki that have more than one master.

[ Hibiki will gladly be allotted this quest. She smiles for Hime's sake, now. ]

I look forward to your wings unfurled in their full splendor.

[ She has no way of knowing who Hime was in life. But she had to have been magnificent. Of this, Hibiki is positive. ]

He picked up another random shinki. I haven't met them yet.

[His fingers twitch slightly when Shun stalks closer, but he keeps his gaze steady.] I'll be fighting it, too.

[But there are lines that can't be uncrossed.]

It's just an insurance. I can't...turn my eyes away from the possibility.

[Saying you can handle it is one thing. But there are times when you—can't.]

...I thought I couldn’t stop Fujiwara from dying. I thought it was true for a long time. I wasn't...there when Johan— [He cuts himself off, and finally breaks eye contact to look away and re-compose himself, before dragging his gaze back.] There are things I won't be able to do. No matter how much I want to.

I'm not being self-pitying, Shun. ...I just need help.

[She smiles as she reaches out and slips her hand into his, taking a fee steps closer and placing her other his shoulder. The man really did have quite a large build, which the suit accentuated nicely.]

[Alex teased a little. It wasn’t something she did often, but she felt comfortable enough with Archer to do so.]

[She stalks over the the banister where she left her drink, picking up the glass to finish the rest of it.]

And this why you’re probably going to get hit someday.

[There’s a frown on her face when she turns back to him. But her annoyance doesn’t last for too long and starts to simmer down quickly.]

It is, I agree. I'd think that the higher gods ought to be able to prevent something like that....

[He adopts a thoughtful expression, and concedes:]

Unless they're under attack from a more powerful force?

It's a little frightening to think we're both veterans, isn't it?

[Compared to the other newcomers. Compared to real gods and shinki, of course, they're mayflies-- and yet.

He laughs under his breath, shrugging.]

Honestly... I'm not, either. Although I may head home early. It's been a long day.

Well, I guess it's fair. Now we both have suffering feet.

[ He casually sits on the said banister, shaking off his foot a little as if to ease the pain. He puts his hand under his chin and tilts his head ]

You think your mind could be swayed? About that dance I mean.

Let's give them ten minutes or so, that should be enough to forget about existence.

[ Yeah, he's amused by this mess. And perhaps a bit too used to using supernatural abilities to get out of one. Teleporting at times is better than just dematerialization. On the other hand the lost ability to disappear while still skulking around and being a menace- he does kind of miss that ]

And what's there to see... hah. [ Gardens are nice to chill in. Someone else could chime in about aesthetics, but he just likes the ambiance of- nature, silence, variety of usually nice smells. Add a warm sun to it and some good food and you have a perfect lounging spot. ]

You could try see if there are fishes in the pond.

[AHEM. Tsuzuki breaks off there with a snicker, waving his free hand.]

Has he always been like that or is it just this place stressing him out?

[ Yeah, it's been a while since anyone aside Alex used his real name, and that's probably a good thing. Language, accent, and all those things that make it almost always into a situation where it's like... your boss gets your name wrong again, and you can only sigh with resignation.

Only this time, she really is his boss, kind of! ]

You almost got it, little lady! [ Well, she tried™ that's what's important! ] A pleasure indeed. I'm enjoying my time here. And you're an incredibly charming company.

[ He probably should ask her, why is he here. Why not in Ireland- but he risks that they will send him there- and as curious as he is, it's probably for the best his not near his homeland, or gods forbid, his godly father. The level of awkward would skyrocket. ]

Yeah, for sure! I might not be that much of a dancer, but I can manage a waltz or two.

[And Sakura knows she can relax around him, which is probably more important. He smiles cheerfully.]

So hopefully she'll have fun.

[At the word 'food' there is the audible sound of her stomach growling. A light blush forms on her cheeks, and she gives a sheepish little nod.]

A-ah...

She went to say hello to some other friends. I'm sure she'll be back soon. Her name is Kairi.

Thank goodness for that.

[Forrest nods back with a small smile.]

Yes, I'm not sure I would have had time for another on such short notice. But you've certainly made the best of it, all the same.
