[It's about the first time Shun has seen Lenneth look that disturbed by something - or disturbed at all by something, really - and though his sympathy is somewhat limited, he can certainly understand the reaction.]

You're probably right. Even if it was possible, it'd hurt you and others more than it would help anyone.

[Any god here who was Chosen would have more than just a single friend, and an existence like that probably wouldn't sit well with some of those friends.]

The Heavens organised the visits last time, but I doubt they'd be that opposed to visits. Nobody can figure out why we're in this pantheon instead of those ones, anyway.

[By all rights they should be living in those other Heavens, but it's this one they've been drawn to. He's a little surprised none of the other pantheons have sent representatives to figure out what the hell is going on.

Still, if Dokugakuji wants to move on, Shun's not going to stop him, and he just shrugs a little.] Go ahead.

[The Valkyrie doesn't precisely 'grow quiet'. But her next words lose much of her imperious tone, leaving her voice gentler than most any other time.]

It would. Yet it is tempting to grant some people here an eternity in Asgard.

That would mean no ale too... [ Was she to more Heavenly parties to know that deal? Probably, the way she spoke suggested she was here for a while. ]

"Lord Odin"? [One of the other gods here, maybe? That was his best guess, although he couldn't recall anyone calling themselves such.]

[ He can be a bit too trusting but at the same time he definitely has his defenses up when it comes to dangerous situations. He's anything but a "famed" person but Sorey has the problem with talking bit too highly of others. Like he's one to talk.

Mikleo definitely doesn't know right now because it's the first time he's engaged with Tatara outside of who he usually speaks with. He's definitely different but Mikleo has yet to feel anything dangerous from him. He does seem to be quite a fellow with a few quirks here and there ]

I see-- he's always busy doing things for others, even when he's suppose to enjoy the festivities himself.

[ Mikleo gives a slight frown as he crosses his arms but it's nothing bad, really. Sorey is Sorey and there is nothing he can do to change that. ]

[ He's patient, so when she takes out her phone, he glances at it curiously.

[ Not that he meant anything by that other than light hearted teasing. He'll follow the best he can, though the way they were positioned caused him to momentarily stiffen. It's not something he's quite used to, having someone place their hands there. ]

[ He attempts to make a gesture to do so. Since it's Mikleo, he's never opposed to learning new things. In fact, he was quite curious himself but has yet to show the same excitement. Hopefully, he is able to understand the fundamentals. ]

Is that what choosing them means in your world? [From what Shun's heard from her before, her world seems to align in vague points with Norse mythology, but he might as well ask for the confirmation since there's enough differences that he can't be sure.]

Odin is the greatest of the Aesir and he who rules the gods in Valhalla. As such, he is my master, and to whom I answer.

There is another 'Odin' here, as part of the pantheon known as 'Norse', which is a strange and inaccurate reflection of my own.

Those I choose become Einherjar, and once I have trained them adequately, I send them to Vahalla to become gods. [True and literal gods, in all senses of the word, if perhaps weaker ones than the natural Aesir.]

Yeah, that's fine. [He'd somehow managed to go this long without having sake before, but how bad could it be?

[Hakkai had handed him one of the delicate little crystal glasses that the white-robed shinki are distributing, but the size of Ross's mouthful takes him by surprise nonetheless. He discreetly hides a chuckle behind his own glass.

Well, he had said that he needed a drink.]

Do you drink often?

[He's only teasing a little.]

[He winced as he felt the sake go down his throat. Maybe doing that wasn't a good idea, especially since his preference in tastes tended to skew toward sweet. Very sweet, even.]

Not at all. [That was his defence against Hakkai teasing him: 100% owning his response.] Do you?

[As alcohol goes, sake is rather sweet, but as sweets go, it really isn't, at all. The look on Ross's face is, Hakkai reflects, priceless.]

From time to time.

[Mostly when he's challenged to a drinking contest, or when he feels like he really needs a drink. Tonight, unfortunately, has been the latter.

The misfortune of others is significantly more cheering than alcohol, though, even when it's the relatively minor misfortune of taking a much-too-large drink of an unfamiliar beverage.]

Perhaps you should drink it a bit more slowly if you're not used to it....

[That gets a faint snort out of Shun, though there's no humour in it.] So basically what's going on here, but with more steps.

[He can't imagine everyone here would want to be gods in death any more than they do right now. Some people just don't really consider themselves fitting for the role, chosen or not.]

There are certain parallels. If shinki became gods as a matter of established course, it would be remarkably similar.

[Why would anyone not wish to be a god? Besides, whether or not they consider themselves fitting is irrelevant: it is the gods' purview, manifested in the Valkyrie, to decide worth.]

[ They look convincing enough, even if Rin just described someone very different than Add- no white hair and no tiara, though at least the height is similar. Guess the shinki wants to have them away just as much as two thieves- excuse me, looters- want to disappear from ther vicinity.

Did they never had fun in their life? -un-life, whatever. He gives Rin another pat in the back and a laugh as the poor shinki complains about the terrifying duo, but then he starts to apologize...? ]

We didn't--? [ But he got them all right, they're safe, and-- oh, right hidden. He smiles and lets up a happy hum, you know he's having nose up very proudly right now...

Just wait and see. He leads them to the end of the table, with a bit of detour, just to make sure they were no longer in the official shinkis gaze range. There he ducks and picks out the plate with a drink he hid there just a moment before. ]

Ta-dah! All thanks to your great job! [ Being a distraction is a stressful art, but an art nevertheless. ]

[ He's old as dirt if you look at it from this perspective. But he didn't live through those two thousand years. ]

Give or take few centuries- it's not that much.

[ He returns close after the spin and for a longer while they can just keep close and move with the music. Yeah, this kind of dancing could grow on him. Dancing with Archer even, who knows. You know, like a fungus ]
