[He keeps in step with her, matching his strength to her grace with the skill of someone who's been teaching her and understands it well.]

I say they're good. Who else are you asking? Whose opinion matters here?

[redmare]

Umm..mine? [Obviously.]

[mithrarin]

So what do you think, then? Are you unhappy with who and what you are?

[redmare]

[That was a rather sobering question.]

Not that I'm unhappy...just unsatisfied. I know nothing about my time before here, and there's a hell of a lot that I could do better at...but yeah, I am happy with who I am. Just not where I'm at. Not yet.

[mithrarin]

That's fine. I want you to like you... and your desire to keep moving forward, to grow and improve, is one of the things I like best about you.

[redmare]

Heeeh...Then you better like yourself too. You aren't too bad yourself. [She grins.]

[mithrarin]

Coming from you... should we start picking out curtains? [Okay, the second half is a joke, but Dust recognizes that from her, that is pretty high praise.]

[redmare]

Oho, he tells jokes? [It was a relief though, considering how he had been acting after the moon festival. Making jokes, whether they were particularly funny or not, was a good sign.]

Right then. Ready to really start moving?

[Not that she gives him much of a choice before pivoting and changing their direction, pushing against him so that he's forced to walk backwards.]

[Dust has to fight his instinct, when pushed backwards, to do one of his patented flip-dodges back to gain space. He's a second slow in reacting and steps backwards quickly to try to get back on pace.]

You call that a joke? You ARE feeling generous tonight.

[redmare]

Maybe. It's why I won't give you crap for that delay just now.

[She says, despite the smirk on her face. She turns them again, pushing the corner of her hip against his to maneuver him, forcing her will onto him. Who said they'd only fight during training?]

[mithrarin]

[She has him at a disadvantage, and he knows perfectly well she's loving it. He doesn't move for just a heartbeat, long enough for her pit her strength against his and know that she can't make him move, before he steps with her.]

I'll remember that kindness next time I'm training you.

[...He's enjoying it. He really is. Not despite how much of a brat she is, but because of it.]

[If she was going to pay for it anyways, might as well take advantage while she can. Moving her hand, she changes the hold, placing her hand around his back, then twisting their bodies so she can dip him.]

You make it sound like I'm never kind.

[mithrarin]

[Somehow, her strength always manages to startle him. Maybe because she's so comparatively short, but really, he ought to know better.]

[Sensing he's losing ground, particularly as he's bent back almost beneath her, Dust scrambles to keep verbal place.]

You're always kind.... to those people not worth any more of your attention than that.

[redmare]

[She pulls him back up, having him slightly pressed up to her.]

You saying the closer I am to someone, the meaner I am?

[mithrarin]

You've never given me a break. [Nor does he seem to want one. Dust turns slightly with her, then steps away as he lifts her hand -- they might be competing in some ridiculous way, but he doesn't for a moment think she'd fail to spin as he's signalling.]

[redmare]

Hmm..maybe I don't actually like you?

[Even if they were competing, she wasn't going to have him hold his hand up awkwardly. They still gotta look good. She follows the cue and spins, a playful smirk on her face as she faces him again.]

[mithrarin]

If you didn't like me...

[When she twists around, he draws her back in -- not roughly enough to put her the slightest bit off-balance, but with a firmness and unyielding strength that brings her right up against him.]

You wouldn't be here.

[redmare]

Have you considered I might want to embarrass you?

[She doesn't crash into him, that's for sure. Her stance is strong, bumping into him more to show that she was going to follow, but not yield.]

[mithrarin]

That's too easy. You prefer a challenge.

[And making Dust dance competently with her is definitely a challenge.]

[redmare]

Did you seriously just admit to being easy to embarrass?

[Chinatsu had to laugh. But it wasn't an insulting one.]

You sound so sure that you know me.

[Not that she said he was wrong either.]

In the middle of a dance? Yeah. [He can admit it. Dust is easier to embarrass than he particularly likes, being unsuited to the social situations he so often finds himself in.]

[Chinatsu doesn't take advantage of that. Not really. And he appreciates that.]

I think I have a pretty good handle on you.

[redmare]

Cheeky.

[She pivots, swiftly turning them then extending one leg back so she can lean away from Dust, curving her back.]

Could say the same for you, though.

Oh yeah? [Dust doesn't offer so much of an inch of yield as she puts her weight against his strength, supporting her as she needs.] Let's hear some deep insight then.

[redmare]

Hmmm...You've got poor taste in popcorn, movies, songs..huh, that's everything.

[Not insights, but they were jokes.]

[mithrarin]

Maybe I do... but they're all better than yours, so I can't complain.

[He tugs her right back up out of that lean, catching her as he does.]
