Summary: The Heavens are throwing a formal party! Old and new gods alike are invited, so put on your nicest outfits and some good dancing shoes, and come see what this shindig is all about.

[Maria laughs, waving a hand as she lets them down into her lap again.] I have experience having to do this sort of thing at the last minute. It's not fun, but I can manage if I have to.

[When Alex points out the detail about her hair, she nods, reaching up to tuck a stray curl behind her ear.] It's nice to change things around sometimes, especially for something like this. I should really do it a bit more often.

You attend parties like this often then?

[Then again, that didn't seem all too surprising with Maria. She seemed to fit into this type of setting just fine.]

I'd love to see other styles. You have such nice hair, I'm sure you could pull off a lot of them.

Since I was a musician in my world, I'd often have to go to parties - not quite like this, but still formal. I didn't always have a lot of time to prepare, especially if I was busy with something else at the time.

[Not that she particularly wants to share what those things were, because some of them certainly weren't good or anything she wants to linger on too long. It's better to just think of when she was busy with work instead of with Fine.]

I'll definitely have to think about it. I have a lot more time to try out things like that here, and I'd like to take the chance while I have it. Though I think you could do a lot of interesting things with yours as well.

[Alex chuckles.] I've tried a couple of braids, but that's about it.

Any chance you'll be performing some time here?

Maybe. [Maria lets out a slightly rueful smile.] I've had to withdraw from that whole competition business with Hibiki, but I'd rather not let that get in the way of performing myself. We just don't get the opportunity all that often.

[It's a little bit of a shame how rarely the Heavens reach out for help in entertainment at those sort of things, but she supposes they have their reasons.]

[Competing with Hibiki?] That...sounds challenging. [Hibiki seemed to have quite the flair about her. While she hadn't seen her perform, she could only imagine how extravagant it could be considering what little Alex has been exposed to so far.]

If you do manage to have one, I would love to watch.

[There was something about music that took one away from their troubles. The radio was usually Alex's go to, but if she could watch a live performance, who knew how much more wonderful that would be.]

[Maria laughs a little at that.] Hibiki is talented, but...I don't know. I think she needs to learn that a performance isn't all style.

[It had always been the difference between those under CelePara and those under Sparkle Motion - that lean towards flash and glamour in the former, and the focus on raw performance and substance in the later. Maria had never really raised it to Hibiki, on the assumption that she'd dismiss it, but it's an obvious one to her.]

Don't worry. If I do perform again, I have quite a few people I plan to invite - that is, if it's not public anyway.

She's definitely..entertaining though. [She chuckled lightly.]

[When Maria hinted at extending her an invite, Alex felt touched. She wasn't sure she had words to describe the feeling, but it reminded her of a certain gun store owner back in Ergastulum. Another one who had treated her differently compared to most.]

[She gave her hand another squeeze.]

I'm..feeling much calmer now. I can get myself back to the temple..

Well, yes, you can't argue that. [Maria sounds faintly amused herself, because "entertaining" is definitely one word to describe Hibiki's general manner. It's very exaggerated, but some people love that sort of thing.

Maria squeezes her hand back, smiling a little more softly again.]

If you're sure. Don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it - and that doesn't just go for getting back to your temple, either.

[Whatever this is, Maria certainly wants to help with it, and not just let it fester.]

[Alex nods.]

I'll..I'll try not to be.

[She gets up but turns to face Maria, holding her hand in both of hers.]

Thank you, again..it's..it's really nice..having someone there for me..

[Since Alex is upright again, Maria stands up herself, sweeping down her dress a little as she does. She still remembers the feeling of being in the kind of position Alex is in, needing a hand to hold, and she runs a thumb over the side of her hand to reassure her.]

I'll do my best to be there whenever you need it. [It seems like it's important for her, considering the state she was in.]
