Well, at least I'm not wearing sandals today - that'd make it harder to dance with you if I'm going to lead...?

[Which she turns into an actual question for him.]

[His tone is playful as he nods back at her.]

Skips ahead to dancing, whee

I'm gonna hold you to that!

[And they're able to go back to chatting up their friends before eventually getting to the food, then the dancing.

Sure enough, Kairi locates Forrest again from across the room as the first slow dance comes on and waves at him, pushing through the crowd of people towards him.]

[Forrest waves back, walking over to meet her.]

Ready to collect on our dance?

[She grabs both of his hands, not in any particular dance position, just excited to be close to him again.]

Absolutely! It's one of my dreams...

[She is so excited he's the type who wants to dance with her.]

[Forrest smiles, leaning in for a kiss before draping his arms loosely around her neck. She did say she wanted to lead this time, after all.]

All right... ready when you are.

[She's flushes happily at the kiss and giggles, she's just that happy. She only starts to calm down when he puts his arms around her neck and has to focus.]

If I'm leading then isn't it...

[She stays close to him, but takes his right hand in her left, with her right hand going to his waist then lower back.]

Ah... you're right.

[Forrest smiles, blushing as he moves his hands to adjust.]

Well then, lead on.

[Kairi doesn't really know steps per se, but she does know that they're allowed to stand close to each other like this and move in a slow rotating circle, just occupying a little bit of space on the dance floor.

There's a point when she's comfortable enough to try and spin Forrest outward once, then spin him back in again, making his outfit flutter gracefully. Then she dares even more... and when she spins him out, she's careful to twist his hand as he comes back towards her, and she moves into a certain position, and then... with luck...

There, she got their arms twisted so that she's kind of hugging him from behind. No matter that she's shorter, she's got her chin tucked around his arm. It's fine. It's the sentiment of the thing as they rock back and forth for a bit, and Kairi giggling happily at the feeling of being able to dance with her boyfriend so freely.]

[Forrest's pretty good at improvising, so he manages to keep up well enough. He settles in against her when she spins him out and back in, leaning gently and just swaying together to the music.]

[ She nuzzles into his back as they dance together, unable to contain the exciting things she's feeling. She gets close enough near his ear he'll be able to hear him. ]

I love you, Forrest.

[ Then she turns him back around again, resuming their dance frame and grinning back at him. She moves her head to the side, overly in tempo to the music but still with all of her attention on Forrest. ]
