Laser Tag/Arcade/Onsen Open Log

Who: Chinatsu and anyone and everyone!
When: December 6th
Where: The Near Shore
What: Fun times with laser tag, the arcade, food, and onsen at the end! A mingle log for people to just have fun after everything that's happened. Feel free to make your own top levels and just interact with people. Might be a good way to meet some new CR too!

Round 2

Welcome to Round 2! The place to go when one wishes to forget responsibilities, stuff their faces, and legally shoot people! From laser tag to virtual reality to classic arcade games. A place for fun for those with physical prowess to those who prefer to hide behind the safety of their screens. Let your inner kid loose in this mostly judgement free zone. Mostly, because children cant be pretty brutal.

Laser Tag

Whether it be 2 players against each other or full on teams, put on your vests and charge up your guns! Players will be lead into a chamber where they can find their equipment and choose which color to swear allegiance to. Will you choose the pink, blue, purple, green, or white team?

All teams have the same equipment: a vest, a gun attached to it, and an armband. Your armband will display your warrior name, as well as the number of points you’ve accumulated. It will also flash the handle of anyone who has successfully taken a shot at you, in case you want to hunt them down after the game for revenge. Flashing targets are located on a player’s back, shoulders, and chest. The chest will get you 10 points as it is the smallest target. The shoulders will give you 5, and the back will get you 3, because that’s just sneaky. Get to your opponent’s base and aim for for the marker. If you manage to keep it in your team’s color by the end of the game, you win!

After listening to the game rules, the doors will slide open to a pitch black room, glow in the dark spray paint covering the maze of walls inside. A fog machine lets out a continuous stream of smoke, in case your vision wasn’t hampered enough. Watch your step! There are slopes and steps, that can lead you to higher ground or a place to hide. The walls have openings to provide cover and a prime position to attack. When you exit, you can see the rankings on the tv screen to see who earned the most points for bragging rights.

Please refrain from physically attacking people with either yourself or your gun. Other than that, take down your opponent however you can. Most importantly, have fun!

Arcade Games

For those that don’t want to get too sweaty or would like something less stressful, check out the arcade! They’ve got kid friendly games like wacman and super bario, and games for the older crowd like Tennant Evil. Try to win some cute but strangely designed stuffed toys in the crane machine or take some purikura. Collect as many tickets as you can and claim a prize from the booth. Please be courteous of other guests and keep in mind that their are children around. So please, watch your language. Or else :)

Food

Seems even the restaurants are into games. Up for a challenge? Can you eat a giant plate of barbecued meat? A 12 inch deep dish pizza? A bowl or ramen that can fit five regular bowls in it? Take on each restaurant's heaviest meal and score some free food! Maybe you’ll even get your face on the wall of fame. Don’t worry, they have regular sized meals too. They’ve got ice cream and crepes for dessert, as well as some very instagram worthy bubble tea drinks.

Onsen

On a more relaxing note, slip into the warm, healing waters of the onsen. Robes, towels, all your bathing needs will be provided. There is a divider between the male and female sections, but you can still hold a conversation with the other side if you speak loud enough. Chat with your friends or even strangers. What better way to get to know someone than by washing their back?

An area is available to have footbaths regardless of gender, as well as common room with massage chairs to sit back and relax in. Have some tea or milk while you're at it!

[It's a good thing they're snuggling close so Caster can't see her face because she's blushing hard. The comment was a joke, but oh, it's hard not thinking about Archer soaking in the pool, that infuriating smirk on his face.]

Maybe you'll exaggerate or undersell his features. This is why we need our own hot spring; so I can find out for myself.

He's a fine man- if you wonder if he's as packed as he seems to be, then yep, he is. [ Nope, not jealous. That 10kg of muscle mass difference affects speed stat a lot, he'd rather keep his ridiculously high as it is ]

What, you into him? [ There isn't really a surprise behind that question, just curiosity. If you disregard the part "can be such a colossal dick" Archer does have a lot of good qualities. Including the ability to make such good food even after the nastiest snark ]

[It's not like Archer's clothing hides how incredibly ripped he is and she's touched his chest before. There's still an immediate feeling of flustered lust as continues to think about Archer, blushing a little more from Caster's second question.]

I guess. We went on a date.

[There's a lot about Archer to be into. He's attractive, smart, nice to her even at his snarkiest, reliable in combat, an excellent cook. There's the urge to do better around him, his praise means a lot. They live together so of course it's good they get along.

But does it mean anything more? That Ginia can't figure out.]

Oooh, a date? [ Mention of that and then a blush? How could he not notice there is something this interesting going on? ]

Where, if you don't mind me asking?

[ Goddamn, he's getting into a gossipping mood, but he really wants to know more. Can he has an excuse it's because his shinki are concerned? Does it work here? ]

To an ice cream parlor. The parfaits were nice.

[Twice, actually, though the first time Saber was there too and that was a break from work, not a date. The second time was definitely a date, but is it a bit strange going to the same place twice like that? And also the place he works at? Huh.]

[ Caster lets a "pffffft" sound as he tries to contain laughter. That was the same place for their "pseudo-date" so long time ago. As reward for fishing getting ice-cream was a great idea. ]

Watch out, or you'll end up working there too. Man, he could be more creative. [ Okay, sorry, he has to laugh it off a bit, cannot contain it. ] But I suppose that's an acceptable flaw to have.

[ He elbows her gently on the side ]

I'll be rooting for ya.

[Work there too...? Ginia knows Caster has (or is it had now?) a part-time job, but she didn't know it was the same location. That makes her laugh a little (and wonder if Archer also took Caster there at some point).]

I don't know, I could use a part-time job and it's a nice place.

[She smiles at Caster's support and kisses his shoulder. It's not that she needed his approval or anything, but it's nice to know being interested in Archer won't cause any problems. Who knows, maybe Caster was okay with Archer dating other people as long as they weren't other shinki in the temple.]

What about you? When are you going to take me out?

[ As far as Caster is concerned, it makes much more sense with Ginia dating Archer, than Archer "dating" him. His shinki are kind of cute around each other, and he got a bit of a shipper streak. Which is why he did not expect it circle right back to him - and just as he was getting idea how to tease her- ]

Today doesn't count, I suppose? Because it's a group endeavor. [ He instead kisses the top of her head. ] I'll have to figure something out, a surprise. What it could be I wonder...

[ A question. ]

[Today definitely doesn't count because it's a group endeavor and because he didn't set things up in the first place. It's been a very fun day and she'll treasure the memories, but this doesn't count as a date.

Though would a date with Caster mean anything more? Does she even have the right to demand time from her god in such a way? Sure, she's setting up a date for Lancer, but that's a present to her fellow shinki and what he wants.]

I'm happy to spend whatever time you want to give. I'm happy being with you and serving you, I don't need any more.

Oh no, don't give me the formality now, Spunky.

[ What she gets is a hair ruffle now ]

I'm an old man from an old world, okay? [ In modern lingo most of his relationships range from no strings attached one-night stands, friends/frenemies with benefits, or full-on romantic courting. But then there is this whole dating thing these days and... on one hand it seems like a thing when things are more serious, and more exclusive, but on the other hand, friends go on dates, so which is it. SOMEONE, PLEASE EXPLAIN ] I'm learning but it's a process.

[ Sometimes painful for both parties, like Mai. He'd rather not hurt someone he likes like that again. But he might if he gets stuff wrong again. So you know, just to confirm ]

So I was supposed to ask you out somewhere, yes?

[Ginia shrinks slightly back into herself, chastened by the hair ruffle and her nickname. Okay, okay. He's an old man from an old world, she's a woman from a far flung future, but it doesn't mean she knows any more about how relationships are supposed to work.

In many ways she knows even less.

Be selfish, indulge in things because you deserve them. Her thoughts keep spiraling back to the order Archer gave her. It's kept her going this far so maybe it's working, but would a better, less broken person have been able to accept it without it being a directive?]

Only if you want to. I like spending time with you, but it doesn't have to be a date.

Heeey, I do like spending time with you. Never dare to think otherwise.

[ She gets locked into a side hug that is meant to be supportive ]

Guess because we're living together I didn't realize we could just go somewhere with just a two of us. My bad. [ In his defense, he wasn't really going for dates with anyone else either. Hunting ayakashi, chilling around the temple, fishing if he had some time and tormenting everyone with his guitar practice at weird hours ]

But you know, for a full boyfriend experience- I think Archer's better pick for that. [ It's awful to admit, but he knows that in the game of "shag, marry, kill" he wouldn't land on the "marry" spot ]

[Handsome, good personality (the snark is a positive, not a negative), amazing cook, dutiful when it comes to cleaning, Archer is definitely good boyfriend material as Ginia understands it. But Caster definitely has his perks too.]

Both of you said things are open. I can date you and I can date him, right? We could all go on a date together.

[Lancer too if he wanted to come along, though then is that a date or a temple outing? Or maybe Lancer can go out with Archer while she's out with Caster.

Hmm... speaking of Lancer...]

By the way, what kind of food do you like?

[ A group outing is fun, but it's true, it's what they do all the time. Hanging around the temple as a pack. Time to up his game, and look around where they could go and spend time together. Dinner? Classic, but depends a lot where- Shooting ranger? Amusement park? Camping? Racing- yeah there are things to do ]

Food? [ Huh, suddenly a question. He taps his chin as he thinks ] -I'm not very picky eater, you know, hmm. I'm not very fond of very spicy and hot food.

[ Why would you want a world of pain in your mouth ]

But everything else is a fair game.

[ SUSPICIOUS. Does Ginia want to challenge Archer in the kitchen? Or is she looking for a dinner to go ]

[That's not an answer. Well, it is an answer, but it's a bit broad. How is she supposed to find a nice dinner date location for Caster and Lancer if Lancer only wants whatever makes Caster happy, and Caster is okay with everything?

By that logic, anything will do, but Ginia wants something special for the two of them.]

I know you aren't picky, but if you could have the best version of your favorite food, what would it be?

I think we've been spoiled by Archer, you know. Whatever he makes is always just delicious.

[ Yeah, he's not helping. But if he had to think about feasts back in his hey-day... the food was totally different. Different ingredients, different seasoning. Maybe that's the way he should think to find answer to this question. ]

It's been ages [ literally ] since I had some good flavoursome mutton and a cup of ale. A cut with honey, or made in a stew with root vegetables... Wonder if they're still doing them back on my island.

[Archer really does spoil them. At first Ginia worried Archer was going all out because she was new to the temple and trying to make her feel welcome or working too hard to keep all the three of them fed. She's realized over time cooking is his way of caring and he enjoys it beyond a sense of duty. It's nice and she doesn't take it for granted.]

If Archer had a restaurant, I bet it'd be super popular.

[If people of the Near Shore remembered them at least. But hmmm, mutton and ale. That she can work with.]

[ Caster's blissfully unaware that Ginia is trying to set him up, and he focuses on her words exactly ]

Hey, let's do that. [ Let's make Archer a restaurant. ] He likes working with food anyway if we had something of our own we could do all stupid ideas we want with it.

[ Want to stage a live for musically inclined Far Shorers? Sure thing. Open game night? Go ahead. Poetry reading? Of course ]

I suppose we still can do them in the temple but... the restaurant would double as getting followers, no?

[The comment was mostly glib, but as Caster goes with it, Ginia considers it more. It would be fun having a place more people could socialize at and more people definitely need to try out Archer's cooking. And if it attracted the attention of the Near Shore, sure, it'd be a way to get followers.

But...]

Do you think Archer wants a restaurant of his own?

I wonder- I guess the question is if he enjoys cooking more than he enjoys cooking for friends.

[ Those are similar but different objectives. Both include the same activity, but one derives satisfaction from just doing a good job, and other from making someone important happy. ]

He likes making others happy. But that shouldn't come at expense of his own happiness.

[ If they come excited with the restaurant idea he might agree because he sees it's something the temple wants. So that would defeat the "but does Archer WANTS a restaurant of his own?" Caster splashes the water again and runs his hand through his hair in a frustrated gesture ]

Ahh, I don't get him at times.

[Sometimes Ginia wonders if Archer even knows what he wants. They are people driven by duty and the happiness of others. He ordered her once to enjoy things and to be a bit selfish all in the act of betterment and becoming a better person. If someone gave him the same order, would he listen? Or did someone already? She lifts her head to glance aside at Caster.

He's a good god for them. Laid back enough to force them to relax, dutiful enough to give them something to do, and someone worth protecting and caring about.]

I wonder if he knows how much people care about him. How much we care about him. And that sometimes it's okay letting other people take care of him.

[ Funnily enough, someone did. That someone might have even occasionally regretted that, but only for a second or two. He wouldn't take that back ]

Heh... [ The chuckle lacks the usual humour. Care, huh? Can Servants even genuinely care for each other? Isn't there some imperative saying "MURDER" written on them by default? Not really, or rather not always, one could say. All depends on place and magic involved. No one here wants to kill each other- there is literally no need to it. Besides, it's not like it matters - Archer can't remember anything anyway. But then what about him? He's still competitive with the bastard, memories or not. Not because he has to, but because he likes to.

Is it too early or too late to start considering the word "care" hmm ]

Damn, he's so hopeless. But it would be way too sad to just give-up on him.

[ Fuck yeah, roundabout, tsun way of saying things ]

[The problem with being tsun is sometimes the true message gets lost along the way. Ginia's mood dips, the warmer edges of her happiness softening as doubt sets in. She pulls her feet out of the water, sticking them out in front. It's getting too warm, her feet are getting wrinkly, she assures herself, pretending it's not because she's prepared to run.]

Am I hopeless too?

[Ginia stares into the water, watching the drips fall off her legs and ripple across the surface.]

[ Huh. And that leap comes from where? ]

No. [ The sudden question throws him off the rails and he looks at her with a genuine confuzzlement. They were ~~gossipping~~ talking about Archer, he thought that much was clear. ]

What brought this up?

[ He catches her hand, as he'd rather have her talk with him than run away. ]

You said Archer was hopeless. If he's hopeless, am I the same?

[She came to the temple ready and capable of fighting, but didn't have much else to offer in terms of skills. If she's good at helping out with the chores or cooking, it's only because she shadowed Archer, helping him in the early hours before anyone else woke up. They're both wrapped up in duty and serving others, the rough parts of their personality tempered by the lack of memories.]
