Laser Tag/Arcade/Onsen Open Log

Who: Chinatsu and anyone and everyone!
When: December 6th
Where: The Near Shore
What: Fun times with laser tag, the arcade, food, and onsen at the end! A mingle log for people to just have fun after everything that's happened. Feel free to make your own top levels and just interact with people. Might be a good way to meet some new CR too!

Round 2

Welcome to Round 2! The place to go when one wishes to forget responsibilities, stuff their faces, and legally shoot people! From laser tag to virtual reality to classic arcade games. A place for fun for those with physical prowess to those who prefer to hide behind the safety of their screens. Let your inner kid loose in this mostly judgement free zone. Mostly, because children cant be pretty brutal.

Laser Tag

Whether it be 2 players against each other or full on teams, put on your vests and charge up your guns! Players will be lead into a chamber where they can find their equipment and choose which color to swear allegiance to. Will you choose the pink, blue, purple, green, or white team?

All teams have the same equipment: a vest, a gun attached to it, and an armband. Your armband will display your warrior name, as well as the number of points you’ve accumulated. It will also flash the handle of anyone who has successfully taken a shot at you, in case you want to hunt them down after the game for revenge. Flashing targets are located on a player’s back, shoulders, and chest. The chest will get you 10 points as it is the smallest target. The shoulders will give you 5, and the back will get you 3, because that’s just sneaky. Get to your opponent’s base and aim for for the marker. If you manage to keep it in your team’s color by the end of the game, you win!

After listening to the game rules, the doors will slide open to a pitch black room, glow in the dark spray paint covering the maze of walls inside. A fog machine lets out a continuous stream of smoke, in case your vision wasn’t hampered enough. Watch your step! There are slopes and steps, that can lead you to higher ground or a place to hide. The walls have openings to provide cover and a prime position to attack. When you exit, you can see the rankings on the tv screen to see who earned the most points for bragging rights.

Please refrain from physically attacking people with either yourself or your gun. Other than that, take down your opponent however you can. Most importantly, have fun!

**An rng will be used to provide your names. Please see the comment below to get one!

Arcade Games

For those that don’t want to get too sweaty or would like something less stressful, check out the arcade! They’ve got kid friendly games like wacman and super bario, and games for the older crowd like Tennant Evil. Try to win some cute but strangely designed stuffed toys in the crane machine or take some purikura. Collect as many tickets as you can and claim a prize from the booth. Please be courteous of other guests and keep in mind that their are children around. So please, watch your language. Or else :)

Food

Seems even the restaurants are into games. Up for a challenge? Can you eat a giant plate of barbecued meat? A 12 inch deep dish pizza? A bowl or ramen that can fit five regular bowls in it? Take on each restaurant's heaviest meal and score some free food! Maybe you’ll even get your face on the wall of fame. Don’t worry, they have regular sized meals too. They’ve got ice cream and crepes for dessert, as well as some very instagram worthy bubble tea drinks.

Onsen

On a more relaxing note, slip into the warm, healing waters of the onsen. Robes, towels, all your bathing needs will be provided. There is a divider between the male and female sections, but you can still hold a conversation with the other side if you speak loud enough. Chat with your friends or even strangers. What better way to get to know someone than by washing their back?

An area is available to have footbaths regardless of gender, as well as common room with massage chairs to sit back and relax in. Have some tea or milk while you're at it!

I suppose they might not want to encourage lazing away all your time in the Heavens when you could be answering prayers and so on, but that is the only reason I can think of as to why they do not, especially given their apparent popularity down here.

[Zelda isn't really one for exploring the Near Shore outside of her duties as a goddess and other Heaven-related events, but she's seen enough to know these things are dotted around just about everywhere. She kicks her feet a little, making tiny splashes that are hopefully gentle enough to not earn the ire of the proprietors.]

It would definitely be a welcome addition at the end of training days, I would think.

I imagine plenty of gods laze about the heavens without the help of an easily accessible onsen.

[Netflix, video game consoles, a comfortable couch, there are many comforts in a common temple that can while the time away like nothing else. Maybe that's why the older gold households have tons of shinki to handle the work.]

I agree. It'd be a good way to relax. A good way to socialize for some.

[Ginia hunches her shoulders as her feet draw circles in the water. She doesn't mind; hanging back and listening is nice. If someone knows sign language, all the better, but it's never anything she expects. The fact everyone's been patient with her and her phone is nice enough.]
sageprincess: (Catching interest)

[personal profile] sageprincess 2018-06-27 05:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, do you speak from experience, perhaps?

[Yes, when in doubt about socializing: dunk on Caster. That always goes over well. Certainly better than her training day comment, at least. That seems to have made things a little awkward on accident. Fingernails tapping a nervous rhythm on the pool's edge, she frantically thinks of somewhere else to steer the conversation.]

Though, newcomers might take some time to, ah-- "warm up" to the idea. [Yes, that was awful, she's aware.] I know I, at least, would not have allowed myself to be parted from what possessions I still had when I first awoke here.

[Then again not everyone's an anxious war veteran, so.]
unlucky7: (STATUS :: That so?)

[It's not Zelda, it's herself. It's always herself. But she looks up and smiles at Zelda, laughing a bit as she nods. When in doubt, dunk on Caster. It's true Caster isn't the most proactive when it comes to answering prayers - unless there's the promise of a good story - but he's always ready for a good fight. He's also clearly doing something right considering the temple's income seems to have increased slightly since she's joined the temple.]

I don't know how I would have handled it either on my first day.

[She remembers Dust mentioning his first training day, he was forcibly dragged to the beach. No doubt if her first day was similar, there'd been far more bloodshed.

It's strange; almost two months have passed since her arrival. A month and a half in Caster's service. How time flies when you're hunting ayakashi and stalking cultists.]

I heard the training sessions weren't as organized as they are now. Barebones, one might say.

[At least she managed to get a smile out of her. That's a good sign, right? She's beginning to wonder if her relationship with Archer will always be fraught with drama, but perhaps she can manage something a little closer to "normal" with Ginia. But that being said, she shrugs at the mention of the state of the training sessions.]

I would not know. There was an obstacle course and plenty of refreshments set up when I first arrived-- almost four months ago, now? [Wow, that's... kind of scary to think about. She shakes her head to clear it.] Though the animated training dummies had not been implemented as a feature yet. But I would not be surprised if they were as poor off as you have been told before that point; it seems as though the Heavens do not know how to handle us any more than we know how to handle ourselves.

[It's interesting hearing how long everyone has been around, learning who came around at the same time. Shun and Hakkai are the two people she personally knows that have been around the longest, Caster and Archer arrived in August, Lancer ten days later. It puts Zelda around the same time frame as them. It explains why they're so close - at least from what Ginia's seen - why Caster would entrust Zelda as his Master.

There is also a long history of drama and complications unknown to Ginia. Maybe one day she'll hear about it, or ask how they all met, or she'll stay in the dark because it isn't her business.

Ginia delays her words with a drink of her milk tea, turning over the realization in many ways she's only trying to get to know Zelda because of her connection to Caster and Archer. If it wasn't for that, would they have a reason to talk or would they simply pass by each other like so many others on the Far Shore?

Ultimately, she's only talking to Zelda to see what the two most important people in her life see in her. But also, with the sheer amount of men in her life, it's nice to talk to other women once in awhile. Maybe it's unfair to Zelda. Maybe it's ultimately selfish. Well, Ginia never claimed to be good.

Ginia sets the bottle aside, half her drink gone, takes up her phone and continues on with the conversation as normal.]

With the state of the last training session, I worry they're backsliding. I met a shinki that was left largely in the dark about everything. At least the amusement park was nice. [As if that somehow made up for "Hello, you're dead and now assigned to a god who you will serve as their weapon."] Though given the events of the forest, I suppose I can understand the last session being understaffed.

Yes, it seems like most every event in the Heavens is organized by Amaterasu's shinki, but they are also the ones that have to respond to emergencies like the forest incident or security measures like their patrols after the chaos of the moon viewing.

[Fortunately, Zelda is quite content talking about big picture topics like the state of the Heavens and the threats posed against them, regardless of whatever reasons Ginia has for seeking her company this evening. It's probably a bit counter intuitive, given that this day is meant to be for fun and relaxing, but Zelda's not really good at either of those things, so.]

Really, for all that we lump all the old gods together, Amaterasu and those that serve her directly seem to be the only ones actually interested in us and the security of Heaven. Or at least they are the only ones willing to be even a bit transparent about it.

[She has her problems with the way Amaterasu handled the forest situation, of course; just about everyone does. She just doesn't see the point in fighting her about it. There are bigger problems to handle and better hills to die on than that.]

It is little wonder that they might be overworked, catering to us as well as whatever tasks they must have as the Queen of Heaven's shinki.
unlucky7: (STATUS :: Attentive)

[personal profile] unlucky7 2018-07-08 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Their distance and silence can be frustrating, but I hope they realize their efforts are appreciated.

[It took far too long for Ginia to realize "Ammy" was Amaterasu herself. Even now, aware of the level and weight of responsibility upon her and the power she commands, Ginia still thinks of the goddess as the one who took time to teach her how to tie decorative knots and wove a bracelet for her. As the girl who wanted a moment to herself and ran when her shinki drew near. And with her apparent age and the knowledge her temple was directly attacked, Ginia wonders her youth is tied to a recent reincarnation in the way Ebisu's is.]

I wonder if there is a way to help more? Not to suggest we aren't helping given our own investigations or that there isn't enough for us to do on our own without working for the Heavens, but assisting with Heavenly duties could be a way of ingratiating ourselves and gaining the trust needed to know more.
sageprincess: (Default)

[personal profile] sageprincess 2018-07-15 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
There would not be any harm in asking, I suppose.

[Zelda looks up towards the sky then, contemplating. There's not a part of her that believes Amaterasu's desire for new and old gods alike to cooperate and get along is anything but genuine, but she also knows that, as ruler, the girl doesn't have the luxury of listening to her own heart alone. Especially as a ruler currently being threatened by a nebulous and secretive outside force.]

There is always the possibility that her shinki might view their work as an honor - they have been specifically chosen by the Queen of Heaven, after all - and as such some might view an offer of assistance as an affront to their pride. But there are many duties that they seem to be tasked with, and it takes all kinds to make a world, so... I would expect inquiring about such might necessitate a bit of stubbornness, perhaps, but it would certainly be worth asking about.

[And somewhere the Powers That Be decided "hey let's make some missions relating specifically to patrolling The Far Shore and stuff like that." Thanks, Powers That Be!]

[personal profile] unlucky7 2018-07-16 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
[Does Ginia have the time and stubbornness needed? Perhaps. Her investigation into the cult behind the hasn't stalled out, but targets and goals have changed a little between meeting Votelli and identifying more members of the cult. Maybe new duties to help Amaterasu is the change she needs. Or relax and focus on herself for once, but never. Perish the thought.

Though as much as she tends to neglect herself in favor of work, Ginia isn't entirely careless when it comes to others. She looks at Zelda, lapsing into a brief contemplative silence. She won't pretend to know Zelda well, but the last time they actually spoke, they were in the process of rescuing Caster from the forest. Before that, Zelda had stopped by because she'd lost her shinki.]

How have you been?

[They may not know each other well, but the question is still genuine. Maybe it should have been asked earlier too.]
sageprincess: (Laughing along)

[personal profile] sageprincess 2018-07-18 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh?

[Zelda drops her head back down to look at Ginia, surprise at the topic shift evident in her expression. Ginia isn't the only one who tends to neglect herself in favor of the bigger picture and the things that could be done, and it's rare that anyone ever bothers asking about her personal state when it's so much easier to get caught up in thinking about everything else. After the moment of shock subsides, she smiles, though it's a little unsure and weak on one side.]

I am fine. Why do you ask? I did not say anything too nonsensical, did I?

[is something visibly wrong with her please tell her so she can fix it oh god--]
unlucky7: (STATUS :: Unsure)

[personal profile] unlucky7 2018-07-18 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
[Ginia shakes her head and waves a hand, wondering if she over-stepped with her question. It's entirely possible her worry is unfounded or even unwanted. But as she already blundered into this, there's only pressing onward.]

No, you didn't say anything nonsensical. I suppose we've only met under unusual or unpleasant situations and it's been a few days since the forest. I know you're closer to Caster and Archer, so forgive me if I'm overstepping.

[As her message plays, Ginia stares down at the water and fidgets with her hands.]
