There's some evidence -- a few people have disappeared and then returned remembering more of their life than they did when they vanished. Of course, we already know that this place can alter our memories.

[So, in other words, Occam's razor doesn't suggest that people are disappearing back home to take up their lives without interruption just because they remember a few additional events.]
