Banquet
( out of all the things that he could imagine happening to him, this was certainly not on the list. after all, he had thought himself chained to kyriakos for the rest of his existence and he was quite alright with that considering that it meant that he'd always be able to tend to the individuals who made up tiamat. he was happy, actually, to do such a thing, but—

now he's here. in the heavens. away from his charges and lady maribelle and he briefly thinks that he might vomit from the stress of it. lady maribelle didn't need him to help take care of the team, she was more than capable, but what if she were sad? or his charges? how could he be forgiven for abandoning them? and for what? godhood? how wretched. this was a punishment. couldn't possibly be anything but. there's no other reason why he should be here, why he should remember a life past being an echo, and . . . death. he remembers death. one of a boy he's never met and another of one that he knows so well that the knowledge of his death is suffocating.

this is hell, he thinks to himself as he towers over the banquet tables. he is a solid 10 feet of bipedal wolf, leaving most of the room craning their necks just to look at him and him nearly bending over just to retrieve some glasses of wine from the table. wedging three glasses in a paw, he looks at them for a single moment before knocking them back in unison. )

I already wish to leave.

After Midnight

( he is gone the moment that he is allowed to, dunking underneath the thresholds as he abruptly escapes from this misguided merriment. he needs to go, he needs to go, he needs to go! he doesn't know where to, but he knows that he must go somewhere. somewhere away from this, somewhere away from this insanity. he only makes it as far as the outside, stopping short after a few steps. he can see the moon here. how long has it been since he saw the real one? how many days?

he feels better for a moment before kneeling down, paws pressed to his eyes as he weeps for what's been lost. to him. to the boys. for them all. )
