Who: Nanako and close CR
When: January 21-ish
Where: Nanshe's Shelter
What: Nanako's been helping all the sick humans, but has somehow come down with something herself.


[ The volcano had been a scary time, and while Nanako could do little about it other than offer a place to stay for people who needed it, when prayers started coming in from sick mortals, she jumps at the opportunity to help. For days on end, she hops back and forth from the Far Shore and the Near Shore, delivering cough syrup and hot takeout soup for people, and in a few bad cases, using her healing light to help some of the ones who were the worst off recover a little.

But she might get caught up a little too much in trying to be everywhere at once and starts running herself down a little too quickly, until one morning she wakes up feeling Not So Good, with a sore throat and a sniffly nose and her head aching. She tries to push herself out of bed anyway, because there was still soup and medicine to be delivered, but everything feels like it takes such effort that eventually gives in and admits maybe it's time that she asked for some help...

After a quick message on the BBS, she gets back in her pajamas and crawls back into her bed and try to sleep some more. Maybe that will help...? ]

[Instead of responding to the message she posted on the BBS, Izumo decided to do the next best thing: visit Nanako herself.

He's brought over some soup and medicine for her, along with tea that should help soothe her throat. While he's sure Nanako can take care of herself, along with Suou, it never hurts to actually check up on her either.

So, it's really no surprise if she wakes up to find Izumo there, hand pressed against her forehead as he checks her temperature.]

[Shun is one of those people who tends not to talk if he can act instead, and that had looked like Nanako's temple in the background of the video. So he drops by in relatively short order, tapping slightly on her doorframe before entering in his best semblance of actually being somewhat polite about a thing for once in his whole entire life.]

Are you awake? [It's said quietly enough that it shouldn't wake her if she's asleep, but audibly enough that it won't be hard to pick up if she's awake, either.]

[Roxas doesn't know what to do with sick people. He can't recall ever being sick himself.

But!!!! Nanako is a friend so he's doing his best. Which means a thermos of tea, some of those kids picture books about animals, candy, and bringing his monster Maine Coon of a cat, Jellybean. Cats make him feel better so maybe it'll help Nanako.

Which he sets down beside her once he finds the room, making sure none of the pelicans follow him in. Nanako will have a cat just draped across her (all 30lbs of it) and Roxas reading a book about sharks with cartoonish drawings as he waits for Nanako to wake up.]

[After seeing that post on the BBS, Forrest whips up some hot soup of his own in fairly short order and heads over to Nanako's temple. Hopefully she won't mind if he lets himself in, though he does knock politely all the same before he does. And when he gets to her room, he knocks again, speaking just loud enough for her to hear him from the other side of the door.]

Nanako...?

[ Chinatsu arrives, swinging the door open with a bag in hand. Her eyes fall down to Nanako, checking to see if she had followed her instructions. ]

[ It's the hand on her forehead that brings her out of a feverish doze to blink up at the source, taking a moment before she focuses on who is leaning over her. ]

...Izumo? When did you get here?

[ Considering how miserable she feels right now, she's been floating in that space between awake and asleep, curled up in her big fluffy bed. But that voice rouses her more towards the awake end of the spectrum as eyes slowly blink open. ]

....nii-chan?

[ It's the warm purring draped against her that eventually draws her out of a feverish doze and she makes a soft hum as she cuddles closer, earning her a lick on the nose that has sleepy eyes slowly blinking open in confusion. She doesn't think that was Chikusa...

Another blink and nope, that is definitely a giant cat looking quite comfortable and content to be curled up against her, a quick glance around the room also quickly locates where the cat came from. ]

Roxas? Sorry, I didn't hear you get here...

[ There's several short coughs as the little girl props herself up on her pillow at the sound of the knock before she manages to answer. ]

I'm in here!

[ Considering so many people had been responding and checking in on her after her message to the BBS, Nanako is still perched at the warmth of her kotatsu, her head resting sideways on her arm atop the surface of it while she let the heater keep her warm. When Chinatsu swings into her temple, though, she looks up with big eyes. ]

I didn't move my butt!

[Roxas looks over at Nanako with a smile.]

It's okay. I came in really quietly because you were sleeping. Did Jellybean wake you?

[If he did, Roxas feels bad since sick people are supposed to be resting.]

[At that indication of wakefulness, Shun opens the door slightly and actually comes in.] Right. I figured you shouldn't be dealing with this by yourself.

[If she's going to fuss about people on the Near Shore while she's sick, then she's just going to have to deal with being fussed about in turn.] I left some food in your fridge, but if you want me to make you something I can do that too.

Just now.

[He gives her a gentle smile.]

How are you feeling, Nanako?

I brought you some beef stew.

[Nudging the door open with his shoulder, Forrest walks into the room carrying a small serving tray, upon which sits a still-hot bowl of soup.]

How are you feeling?

Good, girl.

[ Chinatsu smirks, proud of her. She walks over, crouching in front of her and holding her arms out. ]

Come on. Let's get you changed and in bed.

[ She gives a sad little pout, rolling onto her side as she clutches one of the stuffed animals Ken had given her. ]

My head's all stuffy and hurts. I don't like being sick.

[ Her arms are currently wrapped tightly around one of the stuffed animals Ken had brought her, but she does her best to try and muster a smile at the sight of Shun. ]

Hi, Shun-oniichan. You didn't have to come over. What if you get sick again? Will Kotori get mad at me?

[ At the question, Nanako glances down at the large cat keeping her warm and reaches down to pet it, grinning when the purrs get louder. ]

Are you Jellybean? [ Yes, she's totally asking the cat. No, 'cat' is not actually something she speaks. Unless it's the grumpy one that talks to everyone anyway. ] No, but I wouldn't want to sleep through your visit anyway. but should you be here, Roxas? [ She glances back to him with a worried look. ] I don't wanna get you sick, too!

[ Nanako's mouth drops open in surprise, even as she lifts her hand in a little wave. ]

Forrest! Hi! You didn't have to go to all that trouble!

/ shows up 2 weeks late with starbucks?

[Adrien knows how terrible it is to be stuck in bed sick. Even more so without your parents. So he'd pulled together a small bag of things. There was an assortment of various flavors of cough drops, some activity books, colors and markers. He had a feeling there wouldn't be any need for medicine or soup here - even so he had a thermos of broth, a bottle of orange juice, a box of tissues.

He had a small stuffed cat and a couple books of fairy tales shoved into his bag that he'd carried in with him. Nanako will likely wake to find him carefully unloading his bag and setting things around. Plagg would be hovering over her and Quinn, the snake Adrien rarely left home without these days, was curled at his shoulders, peeking out from under the blond's jacket. He's speaking softly.]

Plagg, don't get to close. I don't think she wants to wake up to stinky cheese breath.

[ Nanako blinks for a moment and then eyes those outstretched arms with a slightly offended look. She's seven, Chinatsu! ]

I can walk...!

/DRINKS IT

[ Nanako hears the softly whispered words and the sound of movement nearby and blinks open her eyes to see Plagg hovering above her bed. She gives a soft sound of surprised before she sees who else is here and blinks at Adrien with sleepy confusion. ]

...Adrien?

'Way to go, Kid. You woke her up.'

[Adrien winces slightly before moving back to the bed and gently brushing her bangs from her forehead. His green eyes are watching her with concern.]

Hey, Nanako. We didn't mean to wake you up. How you feeling?

[ Her eyes flutter closed a little bit at the brush of cool fingers against her feverish brow - that feels good. ]

Mmm. My head hurts a lot. It's all stuffy, too.

[He's running his fingers lightly through her bangs.]

Probably congestion and you've got a pretty big fever if touch is anything to go by. Do you want to sit up and try something? Broth? Juice? Someone brought some medicine but it might not be good on an empty stomach.
