What: Engagement Party

[You most likely heard the message on the network inviting everyone to come, and in which case, the temple is decked out and ready for the arrival. The door is open to the front entrance, where there is food, balloons and a table if you brought something for the happy couple. It's not an extravagant party to say the least; that's not really what Niles does.

However, there are a few activities. One, that Niles got from another place, was the slips of paper meant to write wishes for the couple. Good wishes, bad wishes, whatever the case may be. Feel free to leave them fully anonymous.

He has also set up a table near the back of the room, meant for two people. On it are a variety of prompts meant to set up conversation. Is he just doing things for shits and giggles or is he trying to create match ups? Only time can tell.

The third thing he has set up is a variety of small card games. Some dirtier ones, but also a simple deck of cards for things like Go Fish, Crazy 8s or Uno. Finally, a truth or dare box is set up with them, in case anyone wants to have fun with that.

But, Niles and Zoro are the main attractions of the night. Both dressed in nice clothes, and ready to meet everyone. It's their happy day, and dammit if they aren't going to celebrate.]

[Leo is steadfastly avoiding the matchmaker table. He's engaged, thank you.

Otherwise, though, he's mingling with Niles's guests, thanking everyone for coming and welcoming them to his temple. No, he doesn't know the wedding date yet. Yes, he is also engaged. No, he's not engaged to Niles.

You might find him out and about in the party or at the card table cleaning house. Or you'll find him in a private corner, recovering from so many damn people talking to him all the time.]

[If you are looking for Niles by himself, he will be standing near some of the card games. In particularly, he's always holding a deck of cards while sitting there, dressed in his dark purple suit, while taking a few sips of bourbon.]

Interested in playing against me? I'd like to be entertained, after all.

[Niles moves to sit beside him, handing Leo a nice dark beverage.]

I hope you're enjoying yourself.

[Considering he stole your bourbon and crashed your temple to host a party. But otherwise, hope you're okay.]

As much as I can be.

[He will happily take the drink.]

I still can't believe you're getting married.

[Zoro feels slightly awkward in this kind of party, but, well, it is for him and Niles after all. He's walking around, drinking anything that crosses his path, eyeing the matchmaking table weirdly. Why is that even there?

He doesn't know how to play cards really, but he'll strike up conversation with anyone he can.]

Want something to drink?

[Romeo had seen the invitation on his phone and though he didn't know who Niles or Zoro were he had come to celebrate anyways! Weddings were really important!] Okay sir! I can play! I only know how to play hanafuda though...

[He likes learning new things though and there's a lot of different types of cards here!]

[Romeo had come because of the invitation on the Bulletin boards but now he was here he recognised Zoro. At the same time he felt a really bad feeling inside him, like if he talked about what had happened with the bad man and the water something terrible would happen!

So Zorro's has had a Romeo watching him warily for a little while, he startles a little when he is spoken to but grins.] Yes sir! That would be nice!

Can you drink alcohol or would something else be better for you?

[He doesn't recognize this person, but hey, the more the merrier.]

I don't think I'm allowed alcohol, sir! I think I got to be bigger!

[He's pretty sure that's a grown ups only drink!]

I'm just as surprised as you are.

[He laughs and gets comfortable beside Leo.]

I'm more surprised I got engaged before you.

Depends on the game. Some I may not be familiar with.

[Either way, Aymeric is always up for new games. Deal him in.]

[He catches him alone, not wanting to add onto the stress of constant greeting and people pleasing. Besides, he can come and go as he pleases now that their temples have a connecting path.

There is also a glass of water in his hands as he offers it to Leo.]

How are you feeling?

I was waiting for the right time and the ring.

[Leo rather shamelessly sort of leans on Niles. This is his best friend, fight him.]

[Leo takes it with a smile, making room for Aymeric on the loveseat.]

Better, now that you're here.

Yes. Go get me something.

[Laughing and kissing Zoro on the cheek before pushing him lightly on the shoulder.]

Gladly! [Hakkai's brightly competitive smile softens to something more sincere as he takes a seat across the table, and he adds:]

Congratulations. I hope you'll be very happy.

I did not wish to add more stress to you considering.

[And honestly, this is why they don't have one for themselves; it would be much worse.]

You could never cause me stress, love. Unless you're injured and refusing rest.

I have gotten better about that.

[He just has to tell Yona that he needs to go face first into her healing pools a few minutes in advance for the future when he does get badly hurt. It'll be cool.]

I'll be the judge of that, assuming you get stabbed by trees again.

I am still surprised at the impact it had but there's no need for talk that would bring anyone down for now. I am glad that Niles and his dearest are having a good time.

As am I.

[Leo glances over to where Niles is playing cards.]

Did I ever tell you how he came to be in my service?

I do not think you have.

He was trying to rob the castle.

[Leo what.]

From what the guards told me, he'd been with some others and left behind to take the fall when they were caught. When he was brought to me--I don't remember why I was the one deciding his fate, I may have been the highest prince there at the time--I asked him for any last words.

[Leo takes a drink of his water.]

He asked me to kill him. He had nothing to lose except his life and he was eager to lose that. And I--I'd never met someone so eager to die and I was fairly young and I just, right then and there, decided he was going to be my retainer. I think he only agreed out of shock, honestly, because who does that?

There are few who do but he may have unknowingly found someone among them.
