Who: Oscar and Yamanbagiri
When: March 14th
Where: Oscar's temple
What: So Manba needs a god and Oscar needs a shinki.
[It's getting into spring now and Oscar's spent the last few days trying to remember how his aunt got everything prepared for spring planting. He's pretty sure he's got it down, thanks in no small part to the internet, but it's going to be a weird year for growing.
And weird in general since, y'know, he's not on Remnant and is currently playing at being a god but he's still trying to figure out how to handle that so one thing at a time.
It's getting to be around lunch time when Oscar heads in from tending to the assorted livestock on his farm, including Yamanbagiri's horse. He needs to make an announcement about planting soon, get those volunteers all together for a big thing.]
Maybe we can make a pot luck out of it....

And distracting himself with work. Helping out at the farm is perfect for him, where he can focus on the task until he feel better. But after a while, he's... calm down enough to properly think about where to go next.
He need a name, a god. He wonders if Heaven will just assign him to a god? Or maybe... he can choose someone?
Well, he can think more about that after he get something to eat. And happens to overhear Oscar.]
... Pot luck? For what?

[Now the topic's on his mind, he looks at Oscar.]
Did you eat yet? I'm about to get something to eat. [He's grown a little more comfortable eating at Oscar's temple. Well, mainly getting the ingredients to throw something together. Since he's not Oscar's shinki, just someone who helps out...]
no subject
[Hey if Manba wants to cook, Oscar will totally let him cook. He wanders over to peek at what the shinki is doing.]
no subject
[It depends on what they have. Maybe soup?]
no subject
Sandwiches are good. There's meat and cheese and everything in the fridge...and I think there's chips up in the cabinet.
[He goes to get the stepladder.]
no subject
I guess that's fine... I can throw something together for soup.
[Which can cook while he make the sandwiches. Yamanbagiri goes to check the fridge, and start to bring things out.]
no subject
[He goes to look over his pantry, trying to find something useful for soup.]
no subject
[Man, he miss having miso paste on hand. Anyway, he got some stuff out for the sandwiches.]
Did you find anything?
no subject
[He holds up the can in question. They are, in fact, potatoes.]
I've never seen them canned before, though. I just bought a big flat of them when I was stocking the kitchen so I'd have options.
no subject
I can work with these. Meat and potatoes go together.
[After taking the can, Yamanbagiri get ready to start cooking.]
Just sit down and they'd be ready after a while.

Once lunch is done and they've got their plates, Oscar turns to the shinki.]
Hey, uh...can I...can I ask a question?
no subject
He looks over with a blink.]
... Yeah. What is it?
no subject
no subject
[That surprised him a little. After a blink, he nods.]
I do. It's nice, and there's plenty of things to do. [A far cry from what Konohanasakuya's Temple was like, but he likes the farm. There's something nice and humbling about working here.]
no subject
That's great. Would, uh...would you want to stay here? As my shinki?
no subject
As your shinki?
[It have been long enough, that Yamanbagiri knows he can't delay finding a god. Well, he probably could. But it's a matter of safety, too.]
... Are you sure? Having me, I mean.
[He's not rejecting this. In fact, after working here for a while, he doesn't mind Oscar as his boss. At very least, it seems like Oscar is a good kid who can treat him well.]
no subject
no subject
Then... If you don't mind me, I'd be honoured, Oscar.
no subject
[Holy heck.]
Awesome. Uh...let's finish eating and then we can do that? I think I know what I have to say and do and everything.
no subject
Yes, really?
[Having someone excited for him feels kinda nice. He quickly nods.]
Right, let's finish eating and we can do it.
no subject
But lunch is eaten quickly, and Oscar takes it upon himself to do the dishes.]
And, just so I don't screw it up, your first name is Yamanbagiri, right?
no subject
That's right.
[He's a little curious about what kind of name he might get from Oscar. It is very important for him...]
no subject
[But a name. He's gonna need a name, and Oscar doesn't want to offend Manba...]
So I don't actually speak Japanese or whatever, but I was thinking maybe whatever the word for "hide" is might make a good shinki name for you?
[Because of the blanket. Not even gonna lie.]
Is that okay?
no subject
... Yeah. That's fine. As long I'll be useful to you.
[Which is his main thing here, being useful to his god.]
The word you want is... kakusu. As my name, it would be... [This feels a little too important for him to help with? But Oscar doesn't know Japanese. So he got to help.] ... Kakuki.
no subject
[Oscar nods.]
Got it. Right, uh...kneel? Please?
[He's a shorty, work with him.]
no subject
With a nod, he kneels down in front of Oscar. And looks at Oscar. His face is easier to see, despite him wearing his hood almost constantly.]
Whenever you're ready.
[Although he said that, it feels like his heart's pounding fast. Being named by a god is a big deal to him.
... Before Oscar can start, Yamanbagiri suddenly have a look as if realising something.]
Oh, oh right! The other reading for Kakusu is On. So... my vessel name would be Onki.
[His cheeks redden a little in embarrassment.]
Sorry for not mentioning that.
no subject
Two "readings"?
[Eh, it can wait until later. Oscar takes a breath.]
My name is Lugh. Grasping thy true name, I bind thee here. With borrowed name, I dub thee my servant. The name answers, the vessel to sound. I call thee as my divine instrument. The name, Kakusu. The vessel, On. Come, Onki!

[Yamanbagiri's in the middle of a battle. His clothes were tattered, more so than normal, and his hood have already fallen. There's cuts all over, some shallow and others were already bleeding. Despite this, he's still fighting valiantly. Using his sword to attack, and sometimes brought up his sheath to block blows.
Until a fast moving enemy shot out with a yari in his hands. Before Yamanbagiri can avoid it, the yari pierced through his body very deeply. He let out a pained cry, before he brought his sword up and stab the other in the chest. The enemy soldier dissolved, and Yamanbagiri collapsed to the ground. When he speak, he sounds... tired but also regretful, frustrated.]
Ahh... I don't want this... Will the comparisons continue even after I disappear...?
[His comrades were yelling out his name, before the vision ends.]
—
[By the time the vision ends, Yamanbagiri's form transformed into a cloak and is worn over Oscar's body.]
... Thank you. I guess I'm supporting you like this.
[It doesn't sound like Yamanbagiri's aware of what just happened. As far as he knows, he's likely acting like support in this form. Unless he can destroy ayakashi as a cloak?]
no subject
Y-yeah.
[He looks down, flipping the tails of the cloak a bit.]
Huh. Any idea what you do?
no subject
I'm not sure... Can you try using me?
[Considering his new name, he have some ideas about his new ability.]
no subject
[A pause.]
How? You're not a weapon, so I can't swing you...do I just think about using your power?
no subject
[It does sound simple when he said it out loud. Er, in Oscar's mind anyway. Since no one else can hear Yamanbagiri right now.]
no subject
Oscar takes a deep breath and focuses, looking for something that might be a clue as to how to use Manba. There's a flicker and a flash and he opens his eyes, looking around.
And then yelping when he looks down and sees not his hands, but Qrow Branwen's.]
What the heck?!
