Multicoloured kindnesses, met by chance, one by one

Who: Yuna and EVERYONE. No CR? No problem, drop on by to make new friends!
When: March 21st, all day
Where: Shinju's Temple
What: Hanami birthday party yayayay

[With a blanket invitation delivered, the only matter of business left is ensuring the temple is set up nicely for a gathering!

The main attraction of the day, of course, being flower-viewing in the temple's courtyard. With light snacks and refreshments lined up at tables inside the building itself and blankets and pillows available to pick up for lounging under the flowering branches, the 'viewing' part of the day should be set. As winds blow lazily through the area, blossoms in an array of colors are occasionally shaken free from the tree, falling in gentle showers to the ground below, creating a serene, relaxing atmosphere. A handful of paper lanterns have been strategically placed around the grounds as well, ensuring that anyone who happens to arrive or stay as the sun sets can still have a good view.

Elsewhere in the temple, the room Yuna uses largely for crafts appears to have spilled over somewhat. There are a few stands set up with origami paper, watercolors and brushes arranged at a table with a few chairs, card stock, glue, colored pencils, stickers, ribbons, and most importantly, there are flowers. There are flowers everywhere. Some arranged tastefully in vases, some dried and pressed and left alongside the other craft supplies, clearly for use in tandem with whatever you feel like making with the other things left out in such a tantalizing way. Go ahead. Make some stuff.

And, while the invitation had been extended to pretty much anyone wanting to drop by, should any of Yuna's friends decide to stay a little longer, she'll let them know of a cozy hot spring bath in one of the back rooms of the temple. Towels will be provided, of course, so why not stay and have a soak to wind the day down with?

The hostess herself will be roaming about the party in high spirits, ready and willing to top up beverages, share a snack, or just have a nice chat. So - kick back! Enjoy the sights!]

Something like that- You can think of us two sides of the same coin. [ It's less accurate analogy, as it suggests they are somehow both needed to make one full person- but oh well he will roll with it. ]

What brought that "evil" part, did he beat you up? [ Good and bad are often very relative ]
trustheart: (027)

[personal profile] trustheart 2019-01-20 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Well... I don't think he's evil, really. And we actually get along for the most part. It's just...

... He's pretty damn ruthless, isn't he? And on top of that, the guy kind of dresses like a supervillain. I mean, he's covered in spikes and has a tail. A tail.

The tail was a surprise- [ Caster wants to chuckle at the supervillain comment, but it's kind of forced and dies quickly. Medb made Berserker like this, he is himself made by her. Turns out sometimes even dying can't force some people to leave you alone. ]

Sounds to me like you're quite fond of him.

... I wouldn't go that far. I've only met him twice. I just... I dunno. I think I get what he's about? At least, I don't think he's the sort of person who's bad by default.
futhark: (hood; looking down)

[personal profile] futhark 2019-01-23 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Not to mention definitions of "bad" and "good" can differ depending on who you ask. [ Ah yes, the "grey" look. ]

I'd like to hear about that tho- so what is he about?
trustheart: (014)

[personal profile] trustheart 2019-01-25 01:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Uh. I guess... he just sees himself as a fighter. I don't think he really gets enjoyment out of anything else. It makes him reckless, but... well, I guess I can't really criticize someone for that.
futhark: (62)

[personal profile] futhark 2019-01-25 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Caster listens and nods. He seems to be pleased with this reply. ]

You pass- Congratulations. [ While he is not exactly sure if Berserker finds joy in anything, the fighting spree indeed might be the closest to what he sees as "fun" ] If you're not an "enemy" there is nothing to worry about.

[ And if you're an ally there might be no safer place than behind Berserker. But that might be too much of an extrapolation. Still- Caster saw how his altered side cares about his shinki. Not to mention loyalty is such a core factor for "Cú Chulainn" ]

Huh. I didn't even know I was getting graded.

... What about you, though. What's your story?
futhark: (sage of the forest)

[personal profile] futhark 2019-01-26 03:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I've been summoned here, huh, seven months ago? It's been a bumpy ride, but I got used to this whole "god duty" thing.

[ Right, they haven't got to the names. He hesitates a bit, if just because his god name is the same as his true name, and thus giving it up could give up Berserker's name as well. On the other hand, it is out there anyway, and people rarely figure it out. ]

Cú Chulainn, I go by Caster. You?
trustheart: (018)

[personal profile] trustheart 2019-01-26 05:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Chris Yukine.

[Cú Chulainn. She knows that name from mythology. And she's pretty sure she's seen the weapon from that myth in both Finé and S.O.N.G.'s list of potential relics. That explained Berserker's lance.]

But Caster, huh? I guess that means you're a wizard or something?
futhark: (reading)

[personal profile] futhark 2019-01-26 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Chris, that's a good name. ]

Druid. [ Albeit a temporary and provisional one ] I'd really rather be a Lancer. It's all thanks to my mentor I can manifest this way. She drilled the rune magic into me as much as she taught me the spear techniques.

[ And yes, of course, his Berserker self has the spear, while he doesn't. Sheesh ]

trustheart: (024)

[personal profile] trustheart 2019-01-26 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
... Okay, you're gonna have to explain this "summoning" thing to me. I get that you and Berserker are different expressions of the same basic person... But I'm not sure what you mean by "manifesting".

[It sounds kind of... weird, to her. Almost like something from a game. Do you collect different versions of the same dude based on their skills or something?]
futhark: (rune writing)

[personal profile] futhark 2019-01-26 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
[ That's not wrong, Grail War is a game, a very deadly to the participants, but in the end, it is a game. ]

I'd keep it simple and say "blame mages" but it wouldn't answer your question, right?
trustheart: (022)

[personal profile] trustheart 2019-01-26 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
... Not even remotely. Cuz from where I'm sitting that sounds like another way of saying "Caster".

[personal profile] futhark 2019-01-26 07:22 pm (UTC)(link)
[ He laughs briefly at that. ]

Fine, but you know- if we're sitting here sharing life stories, I'd say it's your turn. What's your deal, Chris?
trustheart: (078)

[personal profile] trustheart 2019-01-26 07:24 pm (UTC)(link)
[...]

I'm. Not really sure my life story is the kind of thing you tell at a party...
futhark: (looking into distance)

[personal profile] futhark 2019-01-26 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, I get that. [ He can read the mood and implications ] So what god are you?
trustheart: (007)

[personal profile] trustheart 2019-01-26 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[Chris un-tenses her shoulders, and smiles thankfully.]

Thank you. As for what god I am, I'm the goddess Ishtar.
futhark: (surprised)

[personal profile] futhark 2019-01-26 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Woah. That's an ancient bunch- [ Possibly one of the oldest if not THE oldest pantheon out there ] How's it faring for ya?
trustheart: (076)

[personal profile] trustheart 2019-01-26 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
... To be honest, It wouldn't have been my first choice. The problem is that a lot of the things covered by Ishtar's domain are stuff I'm not super comfortable with.

[She sighs.] But I'm managing. Somehow.

Cherry-pick what you're okay with, ignore the rest? Gods always had aspects that were more or less important in a given era.
trustheart: (039)

[personal profile] trustheart 2019-01-26 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I basically do do that. But them still praying to me means I've still gotta filter out those kinds of prayers, which is the annoying part.

[She shook her head.]

But I'm managing somehow.

[personal profile] futhark 2019-01-26 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
If they notice no response, maybe they will stop? [ What was Ishtar goddess of? Grail infodump doesn't help that much in cases that are not heroes, but he did his research on the mythologies in his time here. War? Love? Something like that ]

But I get what you mean. I had once spent a week part-timing at a bar. No idea what it has to do with me, but it was an enjoyable experience.
trustheart: (059)

[personal profile] trustheart 2019-01-27 07:02 am (UTC)(link)
[ Love, war, justice, political power... and also sex and desire. A bit much to expect of a young woman, let alone someone with Chris's life experiences. ]

I'm not really sure those situations are similar. But. Yeah, I'm kinda hoping they will. Still, I hope someone else picks up on that...

... The ones that don't come from total creeps, anyway.
futhark: (89)

[personal profile] futhark 2019-01-27 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmm... think if you make traps for the creeps they would stop praying to you?

[ Kind of like, divine misfortune for that kind of people? I have heard your prayers AND I DON'T LIKE THEM, go somewhere else ]

Sorry, you have to go through that, tho.
