Well, it wasn't always like that. At least not until quite recently.

Usually, it would look quite different than today. There would be some more or less formal meetings for the new arrivals so they know where they ended and what the rules are. Gods and shinki separately but in groups not like those interrogations today. No questioning just sharing the information. Some useful, some don't. Sure, there would be a lot they're not telling but in general, at least the atmosphere would be friendlier.

The training would be open for all. With normal weapons. Not this nonsense that happened today. I really liked it that way. You got to fight all the people you like with all the weapons you want and if there's an audience, that's even better. It was fun.

[He smiles but it vanishes quickly.]

In the evening there would usually be food, drink, maybe music. A chance for everyone to relax. Nothing like today.

I think that I'm not the only one considering today's arrangements as a change for the worse.
