A. We're on the case!

[ Every since Nanako's conversation with Hibiki a few weeks before, she'd been on a mission to locate the entire series of Magical Detective Loveline to have a showing at her temple for friends who had never seen it before. Which is, in her opinion, a Great Tragedy. But finding out that several of her other friends also liked watching similar things, she has since decided to make an entire Event of it.

Temple Nanshe is decorated in a possibly absurd amount of Pink and pastel rainbows for this anime night/sleepover. One of the rooms has been prepared with giant cushions and pillows and blankets for people to sprawl and be able to watch the anime on the large TV set against one of the walls. There's plenty of room for everyone to get comfortable however they like.

The dining room table is laid out with a variety of brightly colored foods including cupcakes cookies and candies, as well as an ice-cream bar with all sorts of colorful toppings. Nanako might have taken this whole Magical Girl theme a little too far, but she's clearly had fun preparing everything for her friends so they could enjoy themselves and tonight's Magical Adventure.

Either way, the Temple is opened up and decked out and ready to host all of Nanako's friends - even the ones she might not have made yet. In honor of the occasion, the hosting goddess herself is dressed up in her very own Magical Detective Loveline cosplay, which people who have known her for a while may have seen her dressed in before.

Show up, mingle, munch, and make yourselves comfy! ]

B. Stop or I'll put a cap in ya!

[ Anyone who has known Nanako for any amount of time has probably heard that Magical Detective Loveline is her absolute favorite person and she takes her fangirling of said Magical Detective very seriously. Which is why she's hosting tonight's party, after learning that several of her friends have never been lucky enough to experience such prime entertainment.

The series itself is about a pink-haired girl who transforms into a magical detective to solve crimes and mysteries in a Sherlock Holmes fashion along with her dapper dog sidekick, who wears a monocle, top hat and cape.

If you weren't expecting the resulting magical shenanigans and ridiculous mysteries that accompany such a premise, you are clearly in need of more magical girl animes in your life. Either way, Nanako hopes you enjoy watching the adventures of her favorite hero with her! ]

C. Sweet Dreams!

[ Knowing the anime viewing could run late into the night, Nanako's temple has been prepared for an all-night sleepover for those who just want to crash after the anime ends. There are bedrolls and futons available to be laid out in the large open living area where they'd all gathered to watch the anime, but there are also several guest bedrooms available, as Nanako's temple is set up like a Japanese B&B. There are hot springs outside should you like to soak and relax before sleeping. Feel free to seek out Nanako or one of her shinki if you need a little help in where to get settled.

[Girls Rock Ball and Idolmagika.... Ayumu commits these titles to memory. Joss might complain a little but at this point, her shinki's resigned himself to having a goddess with an infatuation with the cute and borderline ridiculous and they both know it. Besides, she's seen the soft look in Joscelin's eye whenever he's helping Toyo with her homework or she's following him around at home, she's sure he'd relent to let them watch.]

We'll have to look into these. I think it'd be fun to watch them together. How about you, Toyo-chan?

[Despite her earlier ambivalence toward the adventures of Loveline playing out on the screen, Toyo's nod now is surprisingly enthusiastic. Maybe the little soulless would be more into watching at home but the little girl seems content enough here at Nanako's.]

I'll have to ask Joss to help me set things up. He's the one with all the technology know-how in the temple.

[She tries. She tries very hard. But there's only so much learning and understanding a woman from Japan's task can reasonably accomplish within a year when she has absolutely no baseline for much of the electronics she's seen today.]

[ Tea and juice! Can do! A second goat, this one wielding a grabber arm, wheels up to pour the requested maa-verages. (The first goat does its utmost to stay very, very still, so as to avoid spilling any.)

The feat, however, is maa-naged, and Toyo is offered her juice. These goats are friends with Maa-nako. They will help make her party a success! ]

I'm still far from the most knowledgeable person on the subject but, I would say I have enough information and knowledge to at least take care of maintenance and upgrades. Just don't ask me to create one.

Ah, I don't think anyone would expect you to actually make one! Wouldn't that be super complicated?

[ Especially since Minako didn't even know it was actual technology until just now. ]

I think just knowing how to deal with it would already mean you're super smart!

[Toyo nods vigorously, clinging to the other girl. As for Ayumu herself, it's very clear that she doesn't mind at all, simply stepping aside and letting the girls have this moment. After all, this is part of why she'd come in the first place. Let Nanako have some time with a girl closer to her own age. And as for Toyo's welfare, Nanako can only be good influence, she thinks.

She smiles at the sight, simply bending down to retrieve her shinki's wand, carefully balancing the plate so none of its contents fall onto the floor.]

We did. I told Toyo-chan we'd get to play dress up. We had a lot of fun putting together her costume.

[Even if Ayumu hadn't quite been sure just what a "magical girl" was at first, she thinks that she and Toyo managed to figure something out. It had been a rather enjoyable way to spend the afternoon, really.]

We looked up different pictures and she picked out the wings herself.

[It'd taken some tries and a lot of prompting to get Toyo to decide but somehow Ayumu had gotten the little soulless girl to respond.]

[And Romeo's! It was so good how she managed to beat the bad guy each time! Just through love! Every time!]

This bits my favourite! [He stands up so he can mimic her twirl.]

I don't know... Maybe you should check what she knows first? [Memories are very tricky!]

[Toyo looks over at Garry's sketchbook with a surprising amount of alertness and curiosity for a soulless shinki. As for Ayumu, she's smiling softly at the exchange, shooting Garry a grateful look.]

I'll have to seek those out. I'm afraid that I'm still trying to turn my temple into something more child-friendly.

[Even if Ayumu'd had a childhood, her experiences are severely outdated by modern standards. From what she's observed of Toyo's behavior, she doesn't seem to be too familiar with modern technology either but it's impossible to tell if it's because she's soulless or because she's from a different era such as herself. There's just so many unknown variables when it comes to soulless shinki.

It may be a matter worth investigating seriously, if only to make her a better caretaker for Toyo and any other soulless shinki she might take into her temple in the future.]

I don't know a whole lot about what little girls today enjoy so I'm learning as I go.

[But isn't that how parenting works?]

[Is she talking to the goat or the person behind it? Who can say for certain. At any rate, Ayumu seems comfortable enough simply chatting with the goat as she gives the platter one final lookover to make certain she didn't forget any of Toyo's requests.]

It shifts a little closer to Toyo in so doing. Children are not intimaa-dating. Which is nice. ]

[ Don't flatter Hibiki too much or she might one day explode from that ego of hers.



Obi blinks rapidly, then slowly at her, with wide eyes at her reaction to his answer. ]

Uh... Is that important?

[ It's been a weird night in a weird last couple of ... days and then some more days. He's already been in this place for too long.

Staving off boredom is as good as anything, isn't it?

He turns his gaze toward Nanako, a quiet glance that stays blankly confused for some time. ]

I'm fine. [ A reflexive retort, as much as anything. His scowls deepen a little. ] Futon? [ (He is probably not pronouncing that exactly right.) ]

Yes! That's how you learn about the world and everything that goes on in it!

[ She may not be teaching him the right things here exactly.. but it's not with any malicious intent, this is just genuinely a Good Idea in Minako's mind. ]

Clearly you should come over sometime to watch movies with me! [ And also have some quality friendship time. ]

[yasei]

I do? I didn't know- So have I been learning everything wrong until now, Miss Minako?

[ Well, he'll play along, at least. From the memories that he has, he knows his world doesn't even have movies and the like. ]

Uhm, yeah, sure, I guess I can do that, Miss.

Great, then all we have to do is decide what to work on first! Maybe more on what's good or evil? Or maybe.. friendship, or romance! [ Her voice rises in pitch with every suggestion she comes up with, making it very clearly with where her priorities lie.

(It's definitely the latter.)

She wouldn't protest to any of those things though. ]

Whatever you find is the best to start with, Miss. I can't say I would know.

[ Plus, let her have her fun, is what he figures. She's sure rearing up a happy storm about this, so why not? ]

[Garry makes sure to adjust his notebook so that it's a little easier for the girl to see. With how much limb he has, well, better safe than sorry.]

With how much of a selection there is, I don't blame you for being a little lost. And then there are some things which look like they would be cute but then turn out not to be...

[Anime is truly deceiving.]

You can get an alright idea if you look on the boxes of some of them, however. There's a rating system so that you can tell what's good for what ages.

Well, I always think romance is the best. [ She sure isn't keeping that very secret. ]

So we could watch a romantic comedy! Maybe a classic, like a really poor person falling in love with a really rich person.

[yasei]

Uh-huh, sure, Miss. [ She's hardly a secretive person anyway. ]

Oh. That does feel a little familiar. It's not the most realistic thing, is it? But I guess that's partly why it's a thing in stories?

[reloves]

How is that not realistic? It could totally happen in reality!

[ Maybe in her dreams. But Minako seems convinced as she speaks either way. ]

If I did my best, I totally could get a rich person to fall for me! I mean, who could resist, right?

[yasei]

Well, it's just it seems a little bit farfetched is all.

[ But he won't change her mind, he knows that. ]

Mm, yeah, I'm sure you could pull it off Miss.

I don't think I'd be able to get the materials or artifacts needed here, so it's far from complicated.

[ Though, if somehow if Elfnein got a hold of a historical relic maybe she could work with it. ]

That's a good idea, maybe we can ask Natsuru?

He has the benefit of being closer to this era.

[Joss isn't quite a boy of this era, but having lived in goes a long way. Anyone can learn how to set up electronics, but it takes time.]

I can loan you some blu rays or give you sites you can watch the shows from.

[Joscelin can roll his eyes all he wants at the cuteness. It's good for the soul. Besides, he might enjoy the catchy music and fight scenes despite himself.]
