[Waver nods. That's been very true in his experience. Face the fear over and over again and it'll just burn out after a while. Assassination attempts, for example, don't phase him anymore.

The same works with the dread. Being constantly on the knife edge of the fall burnt that out of him so much, dread just felt like pressure on his mental barriers in shinki state. Not an emotion; a sensation.
