Summary: The Heavens don't like things being cluttered, so it's time to clean up a little bit.







Main Hall

While the main hall of the Heavens seems spotlessly clean at all times, that's not the case at all. In fact, it's been at least a decade since the last time they actually cleaned everything out properly. There are a lot of hidden closets and back rooms that have layers of dust and dozens of boxes filled with nothing but junk. Who knows, though! You might find something interesting and useful in there along with all the garbage.

Suprises

Unfortunately, some of the older temples on the Far Shore seem to have some interesting surprises tucked away, ranging from cursed artifacts all the way to magical creatures locked up in long-forgotten rooms. You are free to be creative with this as a way to get your characters into trouble while cleaning.

Complimentary Dinner

After all of your hard work, you deserve to have some tasty food and refreshing beverages. So the Heavens have provided that for you, so that you can wind down after a long day. It's not as fancy as the banquets they often put on, but there is a nice array of food and drinks for everyone to enjoy.

Counselling

As usual, there is a white-robed shinki bearing the gold chrysanthemum of Amaterasu sitting at a table in the Main Hall. There is a small sign that denotes her as the counselling shinki. Anyone is welcome to approach her, and she will smile serenely at anyone passing by as well.

[Where did this woman come from and what does she want?? Hazel's genuinely standing on top of a big, ornate desk, and for a moment can only stare down at her - kind of alarmed, even! - when she starts warning him about something.

Until it's something ridiculous. Aha.]

Is this a joke, young lady?

[miraculo]

[ Hear that rumbling? THE DUST BUNNIES ARE COMING. ] Would I joke about this---? [ Dead serious. ] These creatures, they've inhabited the deepest and darkest portion of temples for ages and ages, multiplying exponentially, and we have disturbed their slumber. [ This is all conjecture btw.

Although it's no less a serious look she gives him. ] But...! You have the one thing that can stop them. [ She points. ] A duster!

[ Here they come....! ]

[churchbelle]

[Okay, that all sounds fake. He gives her a look, then looks past her to where these creatures are supposedly coming from... Where this mysterious rumbling is coming from...

She can probably handle it, right? He holds out the duster.]

Show 'em what you're made of, miss.

[miraculo]

[ She looks upon the duster as if it were the holy sword Excalibur itself. And then with a solemn nod, she takes it into her hands. Holds it with both hands before her. If he wants her to protect him, then she will! She swears upon it as a god...! ] Y....yes, sir! I won't let them hurt you.

[ But here comes the rumbling. The roars. The... pitter-patter of many fluffy feet making their way towards them, growing louder and louder like flood cascading down from a broken dam. BAM goes the door, whoosh goes a hefty gust of wind as the creatures make themselves known. Lo and behold, a monstrous swirl of shadowy balls of fuzz, a cacophony of cute noses twitching with fine whiskers, and a portrait of red pupils all staring at the two gods before them.

For a moment, the wind settles-- the conglomeration of the bunnies is holding its breath, just as Sanae stares back at it, her knuckles white while gripping the feather duster. And then it lunges forward, spewing dust and smoke in its wake. The legion tumbles down the hallway with the strength of a freight train, tearing at the walls and knocking over anything in its path, all six hundred eyes fastened on their two targets. But just as it's about to reach them--

Sanae cleaves the air with the duster, a split second of absolutely nothing happening, and then the later half of the second filled by the quake of the giant mass as it collides with a barrier. Upon impact, the sphere disintegrates into bunnies. Lots and lots of bunnies raining everywhere. White, pure light makes itself known where it continues to be impacted by the little creatures, and soon eight more beams of light join it, forming a cage around the gods' adversaries.

Y'all shall not pass, motherfuckers.

She breathes a sigh of relief. ] Phew...... We stopped it. [ She stopped it. But she's lending credit to his "weapon". ]

[churchbelle]

[He's not expecting actual creatures. They're literal rabbits made out of dust (how droll), but something about the fact that things like that are coming at them in such high quantity really puts Hazel off. That, and the things are knocking stuff over like it's free reign for some dirt and breeze to run amok in here. And he's standing on a table.

She seems to have it under control, though- he shuts his eyes at some point because of all the dust, shielding his face with his arm so he can squint out from under it at whatever it is she's doing. Making some sort of cage?

Well, the bunnies are still pretty absurd, but he's not unimpressed.]

Ya didn't tell me the creatures were stickin' to one another like that. [After a moment he finally gets down off the desk, walking closer to her light cage and peering at it.] How's this meant to work?

[And like, thanks, maybe? Eh.]

[ She's kind of... stumped by the question. ] Er... you mean, that boundary? [ NO, SANAE, WHAT ELSE COULD IT BE. ] ...It works by--

[ Um. Uhhhhhh. ]

[miraculo]

--My abilities! [ She explains openly. ] I can create barriers like that naturally. This one-- [ She taps it with the back of her hand. It doesn't burn her, but it seems the dust bunnies are keeping themselves away from it. ] is made by manipulating light and holy elements together.

[churchbelle]

[Uh... is she alright? Should he repeat himself- oh, no, she's answering. She might be totally bullshitting him, after a pause like that, but whatever. He's still suddenly a lot more interested when she drops the word "holy."]

Ya don't say! How many holy parlor tricks have ya got?

Quite a few! There's--

[ WAIT A DAMN SECOND BOI. ]

[miraculo]

--Er, they're not parlor tricks. They're the real deal!

[ Not sure if he's joking about that parlor trick comment or not. ]

[churchbelle]

[Well that's just one of life's great mysteries. He flaps a hand at her, like never mind that.]

'Course they are. I'm a holy man myself- I know my way 'round an exorcism or two. What's your pleasure?

[Come on, everyone has a distinct holy parlor tricks style.]

[miraculo]

[ SHE'S SO CONFUSED.

But okay, she'll try to explain! ] Miracles. I can create and manipulate miracles. But they're not tricks! [ She insists!! Weh. ] Does this [ Indicating the light/holy cage. ] seem like a trick to you?

[churchbelle]

[That depends on if he can touch it, honestly—]

Turn of phrase! Beggin' your pardon. [happy now...] Ain't ever seen anythin' like it, that's all. Cross my heart, I'm not foolin' with ya.

[miraculo]

[ If he wants to be burned... probably best not to touch it though.

Also yeah she's happy. ] Oh....--really? [ And feeling a bit bad because she didn't mean to put him on the spot! ] Even as ah, um, a "holy man" yourself? [ She thought all priests/priestesses could do something like it! ]

[churchbelle]

[That was easy... He won't touch it though, grabbing holy light things seems like a bad idea even if he's a man of God. Aha.]

Not somethin' like this! I'm more familiar with the round 'em up and beat 'em style, myself, not keepin' 'em.

[miraculo]

[ Aaaah, now she understands. She thinks. ] Well, these little guys are too cute to vanquish! [ DUH.

But they did just tear up all the walls and floor and everything in their wake. ] Dontcha think?

[churchbelle]

[Well... welllll.]

Not when they came down the hall in a big ball o' disaster.

[miraculo]

Awww, but-- [ Well he does have a point. ] They're not a big ball of disaster anymore! [ Points to them. ] What do you think of them, as they are now?

[ SHE WANTS HIM TO SAY THAT THEY ARE CUTE. ]

[churchbelle]

[He's not going to say they're cute.]

[ She's just going to pluck one out from the barrier and hold it in her arms. Now her sleeves are covered in soot, but whatevs. LOOK HOW ADORABLE IT IS. It's looking up at him with big, red eyes. ] Uh huuuh.

Are you sure you don't want to keep one?

[ Lookit this smug little shit. She thinks she's ~figured him out~. Shaddup, let her have her moment. ]

[That thing's a goddamn demon and he doesn't want it's filthy body near his clean sleeves!!]

I do declare, should ya be pickin' it up like that? Those lil monsters just destroyed the whole dang hallway.

[miraculo]

What....? They're just little spirits, that's all. [ S'not like they're corrupted human souls!! Right? ] These little spirits... they gather around where dust is, using it to make their homes.

These guys just got a little angry when I cleaned up their bunnyhole.

[ Holds it up to him. LOOK AT EEEEEEEIT. ] Why don't you name this little one?
