[Since the one in Shun's hand seems to have eased off its anger as well, he switches his grip to something more typical and two-handed. He doesn't follow too closely since the cats might start something again, but he does take one or two steps after with a slight shrug.]
Not much. I just used to run into them in the streets a lot, and knowing how to calm them down was useful.
[Because if he was a pile of rubble away from an Academia patrol out for blood, he really didn't need to be given away by angry cats two feet away. He prefers to be the hunter than the hunted when it comes to his enemies.
The cat in Shun's hands, apparently dissatisfied with his lack of petting it, instead decides to shove its nose into the long collar of his coat, just under his scarf, and almost immediately decides it's a good idea to shove its whole head in. And then the rest of itself. There's a slight, frustrated hiss and a very visible tensing from Shun as the little lump moves around beneath the blue fabric, and eventually a peeping little head comes up through the looser neck of his scarf, drawing an extremely displeased look from Shun even if it's pretty hard to look at the thing at all where it's positioned.]
I don't know why the hell anyone would pay to have this happen. [Said as the calico bumps his chin with its head, because clearly now its demands for petting cannot be ignored.]
