At least it's something I can do.

[Kaneki doesn't think too highly of himself, but he can admit when he's capable of completing a task. He's worked in a café and gotten through the initial, bumbling stages of learning how to do everything. While he may not know how to handle cats, that didn't stop the employers from insisting that he apply, though he was stunned that he hadn't much difficulty getting their attention.

Maybe it was their desperation, he's supposed. After watching the way cats have responded to other far shore visitors though, he's come to re-evaluate that]


I think...maybe it's a little easier, working in a place with cats. They always notice me, and I might be wrong about this, but customers seem to realize I'm there because the cats do.

[Not having to put as much energy into being acknowledged or interacted with makes doing a job easier]
