[That's a reasonable enough admission to Shun, and he doesn't feel the need to question it, instead just inclining his head in agreement. Not everyone's suited to the battlefield, but not everyone's suited to places like this, either.

Shun can't say he's directly seen how cats react to Far Shore residents, but he's seen the discussions of it on the network. It's not hard to follow the train of logic there.]


Maybe they're doing it on purpose, or as much as they can. I've seen enough people online talking about cats seeing them and reacting to them as if they would normally, so if they have that deep a connection with the dead, maybe making you heard benefits them.

[In theory, it would in this situation anyway, since they stay housed and cared for as long as this place stays in business.]
