[CLOSED]
Who: Philip, Ankh, and Eiji
Where: Fortuna's temple
When: April 15
What: Philip learning about Fortuna. A LOT about Fortuna. Oh and finding a place to live.
Warnings: None yet
This place was entirely new, and despite any helpful hints that might have been given to him, he had very little idea how or why he was here. For a little while now, he'd been investigating, which was half walking around seeing what there was to see, and half being lost in his own mind. Not much talking to people. Figuring out where he was going using his vast store of knowledge seemed easier than asking for directions, or at least more interesting. Despite a lack of memories, he got the distinct impression that he was never very social. Besides, they mostly all seemed busy with cleaning, anyway.
It didn't take him terribly long to wind up at Fortuna's temple, since he at least had that much to go on for what he was supposed to be doing. After finding the temple empty at first glance and then poking around some of the back areas, he decided that no one was home. A bit inconvenient, considering, but he could occupy himself well enough. He hadn't even scraped the surface of knowledge related to this place.
Whenever they got back, they'd find Philip standing by a wall that had conveniently turned itself into a whiteboard, completely absorbed in looking at a book in his hand and scribbling notes all over the board. Probably not all of them would make sense at first glance, but there certainly seemed to be a theme among them of being somehow about Fortuna.

When Philip appeared, the temple at first wasn't sure what to do with itself before deciding on the whiteboard across the one wall from floor to ceiling. It even made sure to add a stepladder attached tot he wall that could be pushed around so Philip could reach the top of the wall while he wrote. It really was a nice building to do that, even if it did kinda seem to to darken as Ankh and Eiji came back.
Ankh didn't bother to look at the new person at the moment, having to take his ice cream and get it to the freezer before all the goodness melts. Once that was done, he hopped onto a stool and tilted his head at the jumble of words and phrases all over the whiteboard.
"What are you doing?"
no subject
Unlike Ankh, Eiji does stop to look at the person who was in the temple and the whiteboard that hadn't been there before. What was going on?
"Can we help you?"
no subject
"I just got here earlier and I was told to find Fortuna." Which in no way actually explained the whiteboard or any of the notes scribbled all over it, but he didn't seem to even consider that being odd. "Do you know where she is?"
no subject
Ankh's nose wrinkled and he glanced over at Eiji before staring at this new guy. So. This was probably the source of his weird dream that morning, causing an explosion of the pillow population and the depletion of his ice cream stash. He had thought that he would lose the dreaming thing once he was dead, but now it looked like it was turned into him seeing the death of a shinki.
Which might be useful if he had a clue as to what he had been seeing. The 'Kamen Rider' bit was almost the same as OOO but at the same time, it felt different. He would try to figure out more of it, but, well, he couldn't force memories on his shinki. It was considered bad though why hadn't been explained in that much details.
"I'm Fortuna, though I prefer to go by my real name Ankh."
no subject
So he was a new arrival and was told to find Fortuna...
"Ah, are you a new shinki then?"
no subject
"Interesting. You don't resemble any depiction of Fortuna I've found so far." He wondered whether that was a fault of everyone's interpretation or something he missed in his research. If the latter, were all the gods as badly portrayed as this one? That would be an interesting thing to look into.
And the wheels turning in his head were practically visible, but luckily Eiji talked before he had a chance to go completely off the deep end into that train of thought. He turned his attention to him, replying with a nod.
"My name is Philip. What about you? Are you also a shinki?"
no subject
The question was rhetorical since he could read what was all over the whiteboard. He could even read some of the words from other languages, and knew what some of the more long-winded theories came from, but the details under them had him scrunching up his nose. His quick search didn't give him that much information.
"Where are you getting this information from?"
Because that was not a computer and Ankh was pretty sure that he would have known if the guy was a magic user of some kind. Was that why the dream seemed a little fragmented? Like the guy himself was made out of code?
no subject
"Yes, I'm a shinki just like you. My name is Eiji Hino."
no subject
"This." Which might not make a whole lot of sense to either of them, since that page appeared completely blank.
no subject
Ankh's eyebrows shot up as he jabbed his Greeed hand at the book. From his perch he could that the pages were blank, though that didn't mean Philip couldn't see any information on it. So maybe the whole weird dream of data stuff was part of it? Which still didn't make as much sense, but what did he know being a creature whose body was a pile of magical coins.
"You do know that I can't see anything written on that page, right?"
no subject
"A blank book?"
no subject
"I see. So I'm the only one who can see it." He should have known that, now that he was thinking about it. It was still strange how he knew he has this ability and could use it, but had very little idea of what it actually was or how it worked. In any case, he supposed he should give them some kind of explanation.
"There's a library I have access to. It seems to contain almost all the knowledge in existence." Minus a few things he'd really like to look up, like his own past. He nodded toward the book in his hands. "If there's something I want to keep looking into after I find it, it appears in here."
no subject
Though if this was something natural to Philip, then Ankh was certain to be getting another weird weapon whenever he figures out Philip's vessel name.
"Did you find out anything interesting about Fortuna?"
no subject
I'm lazy and also don't want to literally write a book
There was a lot on that board. Exactly how much information do you want to know?
XD no worries
As his explanation died down some what, Ankh took a popsicle and shoved it at Philip. Whether or not he hit the mouth was irrelevant, he was only going to make sure the human doesn't go on all night long.
"That's pretty good. I'm surprised that you managed to find out so much in the hour or so we were gone."
no subject
Seeing Ankh move, he glances over at him and watches as he shoves a frozen treat at Philip.
"Ankh!"
no subject
"If I know what I'm looking for, it's easy to find information quickly."
