Susano'o Trashes Heaven

Who: Sho Minamimoto vs. Everyone!
What: Susano'o decides to take on Heaven. Chaos results.

Summary: In a bid to take over Heaven, Sho has unleashed an apocalyptic number of taboo ayakashi the biggest Heaven-wrecking godmode weapon this side of the Far Shore. It doesn't end well. Get ready for spring cleaning 2.0.
Warnings: Math, strong language, casual disembowelment and other violence, NPC death, potential for character death.

Susano'o, Selfies, and the Subjugation of Heaven

As he'd revealed in his 3 AM BBS post, Sho has a variety of fascinating ayakashi that he wants to share with the world. By noon, several large heaps located in various parts of Heaven have caught on fire and there is a massive outpouring of taboo ayakashi.

Concentrated primarily near the Meeting Hall and Susano'o's junk heap of a temple, these ayakashi attack shinki and gods on sight. They're vicious, powerful, and the only way to defeat them is the power of teamwork.

At 2 PM, Joshua will be providing some helpful tips. Meanwhile, Sho will be teleport-spamming throughout Heaven. Feel free to text him, but he'll stop answering right around the time Bishamon and Hajime start to catch up to him. (Picowatt will be helping out from there on!)

Boss Fight: Seiten Taisei and the Neoclassical Drakes

It's the zero hour, exactly 43,200 seconds since he posted his warning to the BBS when Sho decides to change the game. Heaven has rallied against him, gods and shinki alike, and it's time to pull out the big guns.

In the air above the Meeting Hall, he unleashes thirteen Neoclassical Drakes before releasing Seiten Taisei.

And, suddenly, it's entrails everywhere.

Post-Battle Spring Cleaning

Well, the day is saved, but there's a metric ton left to do. The mass slaughter left a bit of a bloody mess, and Susano'o has shrines on the Near Shore covered in graffiti that can turn any stray ayakashi into the taboo sort. Weird and corrupt magics all over the place, some of which are on fire. His junkyard temple is burning merrily, and there are still some stray taboo ayakashi to put down.

Anyone ready for Spring Cleaning 2.0? Grab a mop.

Good thought! [Tsuzuki calls to the young shinki -- a borderline might be enough to delay it, but the dragon is roaring and again, rearing its head back with a red glow building up around its mouth. Tsuzuki's on the wrong side of the borderline, and it's a good thing. The young shinki can leave it up to protect his god, and Tsuzuki's got distraction down. He flicks out two more ofuda, one landing to either side of the creature and erupting into misty wolflike creatures as he activates them. They aren't powerful shikigami, but they lunge and bite at the dragon's flanks with mindless obedience, and the creature whips its head around to crush one in its jaws instead of attacking.]

Are your shinki weapons?

[He's grabbing out another handful of ofuda as he speaks: if simple wards aren't strong enough to hold on this thing, maybe more complicated ones could hold it still for the blond guy's attack. Maybe.]

Haru!!

[Elise calls after the other shinki in concern, but it melts into surprise when he draws thee borderline. She hasn't learned that trick yet.]

Wow...

[But they don't have time to be impressed, because mist wolves and magic paper don't seem to be working as anti-dragon weapons. It occurs to Elise that they should have tried out her vessel from in the safety and comfort of their temple.

Well... no time like the present. She tugs Konzen's sleeve urgently.]

Try me. I can't make that barrier thing, but maybe I can help you fight.

[She hopes. She makes a mental note though. Learn barrier thing.]

Er.

[ Haru is a naginata, he could summon him. But if he's the only one of them who can draw shinki barriers...

He looks down at Elise when she tugs his sleeve. He really didn't want her to get involved in this kind of thing, despite what he told her when they first met. ]

I don't know...

[ He hesitates. But as he soon discovers, the midst of battle is no time for second guessing.

The dragon screams again and spews pure fire at the barrier in a fit of rage. Konzen gasps and almost stumbles backwards. The light flickers, but the wall still holds. But for how long? Haru quickly draws another one, but none of these will last forever. This guy with the spells and wolves seems to have some skills, but with no shinki, it'll be impossible to kill this dragon on his own. Didn't he want to be more useful instead of ducking behind the protection of others all the time? Konzen finally nods and with a little more clarity of thought, he reaches his hand out to Elise. ]

Kekki.

Shit!

[Tsuzuki throws himself backwards, rolling clear of the fire that spatters off the borderline. His outflung hand is scorched, and he swears again as he comes back to his feet, cradling the burnt fingers. The redness is fading as his healing abilities take over, but that stings.

It'll sting worse if he gets hit full-on with one of those blasts, though. He scrambles for another ofuda.]

I'll lure it this way! Go for the back!

[The creature's big. It's got a lot of reach. Tsuzuki throws another handful of ofuda, sending wolves leaping at the creature and nipping at its throat and wing. The attacks aren't leaving a mark on its scales, not even the minor wounds they can inflict on normal ayakashi. This thing's strong. Tsuzuki darts to the left, waving his arm.]

Hey, over here, big guy!

[The feeling when her other name is called is strange to say the least. It's like something gently tugging on her soul. But she doesn't have a lot of time to think about it before she is reformed into a staff in Konzen's hand.]

This is really weird...

[And not... much of a weapon. She's a little disappointed.

Although.... some inner instinct tells her that she should be able to do something in this form. She doesn't know what though. Well, it's gotta be something useful, right?

Please be something useful.]

Hey, try pointing me at it!

Lure--wait!

[ Okay, too late. Whatever this guy thinks Konzen is capable of, it's probably a lot more than he can deliver. But Konzen is determined not to let the guy go up in flames if he can help it. Hopefully he can fend the dragon off long enough to secure a retreat for them, at least.

The shinki transformation is different, this time. Maybe because he's already seen Elise die when he first opened the door to her a few days ago. It's never a pleasant sensation to be taken to that moment, which might prove to be a fatal distraction in a moment like this.

A white glow in the shape of the character「潔」floats in the air before disappearing in a blinding flash, leaving an elaborate staff in Konzen's hands. He thinks he can feel disappointment (from Elise? It's not from himself, he knows), and he quirks his brow. ]

Are you going to do something?

[ He knows that vessels aren't always exactly as they seem. Konzen quickly turns to the dragon and points the staff at it, aiming for its back, like the guy said he should. ]

[The dragon's following him, faster than Tsuzuki'd expected for such a big creature. It lashes out with its front claws, and even though he throws himself backwards, the tips of the massive and oddly shaped claws tear through his shirt and score shallow lines across his chest. He rolls back to his feet, throwing down another handful of ofuda.

The ghostly shikigami are birds, this time, erupting up from the papers and swooping in at the creature's face to peck and buffet it. They're delicate little creatures, and they collapse like the paper they're made from as the dragon snaps them swiftly out of the air. They're keeping it busy, though, as they die with tiny echoing cries. Tsuzuki takes the time to toss down a warding ofuda, then another, slowly building the framework of a more powerful ward while Konzen points his shinki's vessel form at the creature.]

[With only instinct as her guide, Elise isn't entirely sure what she expects to happen. But she'll take anything that will help. The nice man with all the paper scrolls is trying so hard to help them. And Konzen and Haru are counting on her to make something happen.

Please, anything that will stop that dragon. Anything at all.]

Please work...

[She can feel the rush of energy as the crystal at the top of her form glows a pale blue. And the dragon just... stops.

It's frozen in place. Well... she wanted something to stop the dragon. It's not likely to be frozen for long though.]

[ The dragon thrashes at the flock of paper birds, and then suddenly ... it stops. It floats there in mid-air, unable to even scream. Smoke rises from its nostrils, sending an acrid smell into the air. It doesn't look so pleased to be in a bind. ]

How long will it hold?

[ Konzen sounds impressed, but has little time to say so. He glances at the guy throwing down bits of paper, possibly for another spell? It's a mystery. ]

Nice work! I'm gonna build a ward -- it might hold for a few minutes --

[If they're really lucky.]

Can she do any kind of damage?

If not, we're gonna want to run as soon as the ward goes up!

I don't know. Probably not long...

[She can feel it breaking free. They don't have much time left. But Konzen was impressed! Yay! Elise feels pretty pleased with herself.

Until Tsuzuki asks about damage. Because while freezing an opponent is a nice idea, it isn't worth much with no follow up.]

Um, I guess you could use me to hit it...

[She's really not thrilled with that idea. It sounds like it would hurt. But Elise doesn't want to seem like she's backing down right after doing something useful.]

No, [ Konzen says, and it's the answer to both Elise and paper-animals guy. He can hear her hesitation. But even before then, the idea of it makes him recoil. Who knows what could happen to her if the staff gets damaged in an attack?

And if there's fraction of a chance that they could keep the thing bound long enough to escape, then that's what they'll do. ]

Haru--

[ The shinki nods and prepares to run. ]

We're ready. Do it.

[The last of the ofuda hits the ground. The dragon is starting to move, twitching first at its toes as if it's thawing from the outside in, and Tsuzuki brings his hands together and shouts the activating spell. Lines blaze up from paper to paper, arcing in an instant across the stone paving, and blazing up into walls around the creature. It emits an ear-piercing screech as the last of the paralysis wears off, and flings itself against the walls. Tsuzuki reels, feeling the force of its blow reverberate through the spell to him.]

Go! Run!

[He bolts after Konzen and his quieter shinki, hoping that if the wards do go down he'll feel it in time to tackle the other two to the ground.

He's still too far away for a tackle, though, when the ward shatters under the dragon's maddened thrashing.]

[Elise is actually really relieved that she won't have to find out if being used as a blunt weapon hurts. But then she can feel the dragon finally escape it's bindings.]

L- look out! It's coming!

[Not that everyone can't tell it is. What are they going to do? Will it catch them? If it does..... will it EAT THEM? She doesn't want to get eaten by a dragon.]

[ He's running, as fast as he can. Which admittedly, is not very fast at all. But he gives it his all, Haru jogging beside him and the other guy somewhere behind. He hears a lot of screaming thrashing, uncomfortably soon after they begin their clumsy retreat.

He can hear Elise yell in his head, it's coming and he doesn't have to turn around to see its shadow overtake them from above. ]

Get down!

[ He warns the others, but it's Konzen the dragon comes for. Maybe he just looks like the easiest prey. Instinctively he draws the staff close over his chest when the ayakashi dives from the sky. Heat and pain sear up from his shoulder as the dragon's claws take a vicious swipe.

He stumbles to the ground to his knee, gasping. ]

Hey! Are you okay?

[There's fresh blood soaking the back of the blond man's shirt, and Tsuzuki pelts after the creature, hands tensing. He can't -- he doesn't know what to do. His powers aren't strong enough to hold it back on his own, and Konzen's hurt. He skids between the dragon and Konzen, yelling to the young shinki who's still in his human form.]

Draw a line!

Konzen!!

[Oh no he's hurt and the dragon is still coming and they're going to get eaten and it's all cause she wasn't strong enough to help.

The combination of worry and fear swirling around inside her is pushing Elise very close to panic. She has no idea what to do.

Could she freeze it again? Maybe. But would that help? The dragon would just break free again.]

[ His breath comes out in a wheeze as he can feel the hot trickle of blood running down his arm. ]

I'm fine... [ Not really, it hurts like hell. But Konzen grits his teeth and tries to stay calm. Because he can feel the panic rising from Elise, and it's hard enough to keep his own fear under control.

Haru's emotions are less shaky. Is it because he has none? Sometimes Konzen thinks he does feel something, but it's not now. Haru quickly jumps out in front and draws a line, sweeping his arm this time vertically. The line cuts across and rips open one of the dragon's wings. It screeches and falls back, flapping its wings unevenly as it tries to stay aloft. ]

You have any other spells?

[ Konzen asks the guy as he finally stagger up on his feet. ]

I don't have any of my summons.

[Tsuzuki's chest is still bleeding, sluggishly: the shallow wounds are knitting from the outside in. He runs one of his hands over the injury, smearing it with blood, and heads for Konzen with his hand outstretched to wipe it over the injury.]

Let me get that for you, though--

[His shinki's freezing ability had lasted as long as Tsuzuki's ward. He glances at the staff in the man's hands.]

-- Freeze it again and we can teleport out?

[And leave it to keep rampaging? Well, if it's that or flail at the thing until it's killed them all, they don't have much of a choice.]

[Elise tries desperately to collect herself enough to answer. Haru is being so calm, and Konzen is counting on her.]

I c-can try...

[She's not terribly confident that it will work, but it may be their only chance. She concentrates on the dragon, throwing all of her willpower into one desperate thought.]

FREEZE!

[But this is a contest of mental strength, and she's still struggling against panic. They're not likely to get more than a few seconds.]

Konzen!

[ Tenpou and Kenren saw Konzen from afar, and it looked like something was wrong, so they hurried to see what was going on. The situation isn't too clear even now, but they can tell they are hurt and relying on a borderline. The dragon also doesn't seem to be moving. Probably because of that staff Konzen is holding.

Well.

Since it looks like there's no time to lose, he calls his soulless shinki into his weapon form and attacks after a split second (sorry for the delay, Elise!). He's going in from the side, so that Kenren can shoot at it head-on and distract it if it unfreezes. In fact, please do it just in case. ]

[ Kenren sweeps in right in front of the dragon and starts shooting at it, his soulless shinki already in her gun form. More than a distraction, he's definitely aiming for vital spots in the off-chance they might be able to stop the beast like this. ]

The hell is this thing. [ He mutters under his breath, then angles his head slightly to the side to project his voice towards the group. ] Run! Go go go!

[ Konzen will no doubt yell at him for saying that. ]

[ He can feel the shakiness in Elise's power as she commands the dragon to freeze again. It works though, however temporary. Maybe they can use that moment to teleport out, as the guy says.

Konzen's eyes widen though, as the man approaches him with his bloody hand outstretched. He's going to 'take care' of what, and how? ]

Uh.

[ Is all he manages to say before he suddenly hears his name. Out of no where, Tenpou and Kenren rush in, weapons blazing. ]

Shit!

[ He holds the staff protectively in his hand, hesitating for a second. Run, Kenren says. But what's the other option? Stand around and get killed? He's got Elise and Haru to think about. ]

Haru!

[ His shinki turns and nods, and he throws up another barrier, slicing it upward and aiming for the dragon's neck. ]

[Tsuzuki's breath goes out on a long sigh of relief as the two other gods come running. Backup. Thank goodness. They are going to get out of here in one piece -- or in closer to one piece than he was afraid of.

He nods to Konzen's gashed shoulder.]

I've got a healing ability. Can I?

-- I think they might have this one under control.

[He checks over his shoulder. Haru's throwing another borderline right at the dragon's neck as the other two fight.]

Wow, your shinki's really good with borderlines!

Wow...

[Elise had been starting to wonder if they were going to make it out of there when help suddenly materializes from out of nowhere!

It's probably a combination of the fear and helplessness she'd been dealing with, but Tenpou looks very impressive right now. She already knew he was fun to hang out with ~~they built a book castle and it was so fun~~ but she didn't know he was some kind of hero too!

And he brought someone with him. ~~his sidekick maybe? Heroes have sidekicks.~~ Who is also pretty impressive.

Her fear gives way to a cautious optimism. Maybe they'll be okay. At least it inspires her to try a little harder. But should they run? Or stay and help?]
