What: Sora is lost underground for a few days following the attack on the heavens. Time to go home and face his shinki about it. Sora has Hinata help him learn more about the herbs around his temple. OPEN prompt featuring Sora and Riku Replica’s strange collect of pets.

[Closed to Riku Replica; April 23]

[After a few days of being lost underground, Sora finally managed to return to the surface. The plus side? He avoided cleaning up duties after Sho’s meltdown completely. The downside? His shoulder was still pretty busted up thanks to a certain blond and baseball bat combo.

Curaga spells healed most of the damage but there is still a distinct throbbing in his shoulder and sharp pains. Magic would do most of the work but Sora is ready to rest and relax.

He teleports home and opens the door as quietly as possible and creeps inside. He peeks around for Riku Replica and whispers,] ...Riku? You home?

Whispering like he thinks it’ll make the reunion easier somehow. He absolutely knows Riku Replica is going to be angry. He kind of vanished for a few days without telling him. That and they still had to talk about the whole Axel thing… And the hornet-like stings Sora’s been feeling lately.]

[Closed to Hyuuga Hinata]

[Baldr’s temple is a rather simple one compared to other temples. It’s not the biggest but it’s homely and welcoming. Sitting on the shoreline, the sound of the waves are always crashing and the seabreeze is always sweet.

The strange thing about the beachside temple is the various amounts of herbs and plant life that grow near the temple and around the area. It’s attributed to Sora’s godhood as Baldr. The place is littered with Chamomile, Basil, Echinacea, Lavender, Marigold, Lemon Balm and more. And don’t forget the collections of Baldr’s Brow and highly poisonous Lilly-of-the-Valley.

Not that Sora knows any of this. Which is why he’s asked Hinata for some help deciphering what is what. Ninja-cat-goddesses know these things, right?]

[OPEN; Late April or Early May]

[If one picks to visit Baldr’s temple there are a few things one might encounter before finding Sora or Riku Replica.

A very plump and cuddly looking Dream Eater that resembles a cross between a cat, bear and dog. Yes, that is pink hearts fluffing off him.

A talking baby fox demon that happens to know how to fly. He’s new, be nice.

A two-tailed pure black cat that also happens to be an Ayakashi. Please don’t touch it. Or kill it.

Otherwise, Baldr’s temple lies on the shoreline and the doors are always open. Sora has a very bad habit of not locking anything. So feel free to swing by and encounter one of these strange creatures or say hello to a god of light or his shinki.

Beware of random Ayakashi encounters, they tend to show up once in awhile at this temple as well.]

[Okay look. Nageki's life has taken a turn for the very weird. But there is weird and there is...

A cat dog thing.

It had been his intention to come and offer Sora thanks and apologies, but... He's stuck on this thing, crouching to examine it, eyebrows furrowed.]

What is it?

[On her way up to the temple to meet Sora, Hinata did indeed catch sight of the many plants and flowers surrounding it. She thought there would only be a few and in just a certain area, but now she can really see why Sora wanted some help in identifying some of the nearby plant life.

It was a good thing she offered. While not the most knowledgeable person ever, she did at least have an idea about herbs and she did know which were poison. Important information for a ninja to have.

She continued on to the entrance, looking for Sora.]

...Sora? Um, you are here, right?

[ She's come to maybe see if she can help with the ayakashi problem--she's been worried ever since Riku's post, and she's not sure what she can do, but--

Oh. Oh, no. Oh, gosh, it's Meow Wow, and Naminé looks absolutely charmed. She kneels down, brushing her hair out of her eyes. ]

Oh, hello!

[The Meow Wow seems perfectly happy with Nageki visiting. He waddles closer to Nageki and lets out a strange woofing sound. He then wiggles his butt happily.

Sora peaks his head out at the sounds of his pet and spots Nageki.]

Oh hey! I see you've met Wan!

[oathkeeper]

[It's his Meow Wow that bounds up to greet Hinata first, but Sora follows quickly after. He waves to Hinata and smiles.]

Hey, you made it! Come on in. Ignore him!

[Sora points at the chubby Dream Eater. The fat cat dog seems pleased to have a visitor and happy pink energy puffs off him. Hello! Hello!]

[Nageki gives it a look. Seriously, what are you???]

I have. What is it? [He's very, very stuck on this.]

[Sora chuckles and then walks out to come over to them. With his toe he pushes Wan over and the creature rolls over easily with a little dog whine. But a moment later he's puffing out happy energy again.]

He's a Dream Eater! My best buddy.

This thing eats dreams? [It's weird as heck .-.]

[Sora grins. Here we go again, how to explain a Dream Eater?]

Yep! He eats dreams, but it doesn't hurt. He's not a parasite and he's not eating your energy or hurting you for it. He doesn't eat nightmares and no I don't know how he eats the dreams exactly.

[Can you tell he's had this conversation before?]

... You're asked this a lot. [He doesn't think it's like Sora to have a prepared speech.]

It's a very strange pet to have.

[oathkeeper]

[He nods with a laugh.] Yeah, a bit. He is pretty weird but you can play with him whenever you want.

[With that he gestures to Nageki to come inside, Wan still trying to jump up on Nageki.] Wanna come inside? You hungry?

[How about you don't, Wan. Nageki will like. Pat his head once.]

I just came to apologize. [Nageki is never hungry, tbh.] I panicked, before.

[oathkeeper]

[Wan seems pleased at that single pat. He lets out a happy woof meow.

But Sora shakes his head.] Nah, nothing to say sorry for, you found out something really crazy! I don't blame you for freaking out a little. Are you feeling better?

[Why is everything around Sora so weird.]

I think I am. It was hard to accept, but there isn't anything I can do about it. It was just something from my life, and it isn't as if I'm alive anymore.

Late April

[Flying around the Far Shore as often as he's been doing is kind of starting to drive Davesprite stir-crazy. It's surprising how quickly literal godly abodes start to lose their interest once you've seen one about ten times in a row - but then, he was never really that awed in the first place. It was cool, sure, but nothing mind-blowing.

He'd probably be wondering about that, if deeper consideration of anything before he came here didn't make him feel ill and uneasy every time he went near it.

However, there's something different around one of the temples today - something moving. It's pretty small, but Davesprite's flying low, and he skims lower to the ground to get a look at whatever it is.

After a few moments, he has to bodily stop and stare a moment, because it's the dream eater he's come across, and it looks like the most ridiculous stuffed toy creation he's ever seen in his life.

Drifting down to ground level, Davesprite leans down a bit to look at it closely, his wispy tail-tip curling and uncurling.]

Okay, I can say with almost one hundred percent certainty that this is definitely a thing that's in front of me right now. And nothing else, because this is some kind of hybrid technology deal even the resident half-bird is not even gonna try to decipher. [He may be reaching to prod it with one taloned hand, though.]

[The fat blue creature seems immediately taken with Naminé. He bounces happily and wiggles with glee when she gets near and quickly leaps up to lick her face!

All the while puffs of pink and blue energy rolling off him in his excitement.

Sora peeks his head out to see her and quickly puts his hand over his mouth to stifle a laugh and watch the scene unfold. Wan has a new best friend!]

[Can thank Square Enix and Disney for that one.]

I guess that's true. But that doesn't make it any less important. We might all have a second chance here, but our lives before all this happened... it's important too. Just dealing with it is a good way is better.

[Dwelling on the bad things, that's what shouldn't happen. As harsh as the memory is for Nageki, it's part of who he is though.]

[Sora is outside with his Meow Wow, the fat blue creature playing about in the sand as Sora lays sprawled out enjoying the hot sun.

His half doze is interrupted by a stage...bird person... flying overhead and coming near. He sits up with a confused look on his face but it's his pet that does the greeting.

As soon as Davesprite is close he's bounding over while barking ("boof boof boof!") with little blue bubbles popping off him in joy. Hi friend hello hi! He instnatly is trying to jump up and lick the newcomer.

Sora just laughs and makes a face.] I have no idea what you just said, but if it's anyone or anything that's a thing, I think it's you that's the thing.

[hyuuga]

[Hinata waves back to Sora.]

It's no problem, he's...cute?

[She smiles, bending down to pet the strange...catdog creature. At least he's friendly. More than she can say for all the cats at her temple.]

Um, anyway.. I didn't expect for you to have this much plant life. Especially near a beach.

I didn't come here to talk about it. [The way he says it is the verbal equivalent of shutting a door. He's not talking about it. It made people uncomfortable.]

I only came to apologize because I should've figured a way to deal with it before bringing it up like that.

[He was afraid you'd hate him tbh. Humans hate birds.]

[oathkeeper]

[Buuuuut. One of his best friends is a bird. So it's all good. He nods, knowing Nageki's tone by now and gives a little lazy shrug.]

And I said there isn't anything to apologize for. So we're even?

[He grins.] And you know I'm gonna say it's better to talk things out anyway.

Did Joshua say anything?

He said to find someone else to help. I was blighting him. I didn't realize that was something you could do.

[The way he looks actually betrays emotion! He feels a little bad about that!]

Sora where the hell were you

[It's nice timing that Riku had decided to pause his game just before Sora came home, or else he might not have heard his name being called. Or whispered, but he thinks he hears it regardless.

Either way, it sounds like Sora, and so he goes to investigate, skirting around Darkflare on his way. And yep, there's his god.]

Sora! Where were you?

[At being pet, the Dream Eater woofs happily and wiggles with glee. He just found a new best friend.

Sora just chuckles at his pet, obviously quite used to how affectionate he is with everybody he meets.]

Yeah, it's kind of everywhere, huh? It surprised me too when I got the temple. Must have something to do with being a god.

[He looks around at the front of the temple, and he can count about seven different shrubs alone.]

Just underground doing cool things

[Sora visibly winces at his name and shuts the door behind him. Wan comes bounding up to his owner and Sora sweeps him up in his arms and squeezes him like a giant chubby blue body shield.

It's probbaly best not to skirt the issue too much. Best to be truthful.]

My friend Kuroko got lost in his temple's underground tunnels so I went to help find him... I uh... got...a little lost.
