[ Reiji shows up at Sanae's temple at around seven in the evening, just as promised. He's dressed in his usual casual manner, with an extra jacket in case it gets chilly - but by the look of Sanae's temple, he might not need it.

So he'll wait at the entrance until she lets him in, shooting her a text asking her to come out. He's also brought some snacks - it's polite to give your host a present, right? ]

I'm outside!

[ Oh boy oh boy oh boy her first friend to come and visit her temple, this is excited news! Of all of the time it took him to get here, Sanae had been preparing for his arrival. She had gathered scrolls and books and tablets and ink and blank parchment and charms and just about everything, gathering it all and placing it in many study rooms of her house/temple. She arranges all the materials in order of most easiest to more difficult to master in terms of protection.

When he sends her the text she nearly leaps to the ceiling. Quickly, she responds with: ] be right dere o(*≧□≦)o

[ Oops, too quick. That was a typo. ] there***

[ True to her word, Sanae will right outside within the next moment. He may see her flying out towards the entrance to her temple, a great red torii, and waving to him. ] Reiji....!

Hello, hello! And welcome! I hope the trip wasn't too difficult? [ She touches down to the ground right next to him. ] Are you thirsty? Hungry-- oh, you brought some snacks [ Dammit she made some too, she better hide those quick so they can eat the ones that he brought!! ] Here, allow me, it's actually a bit of a walk from this torii to the house. [ Can he tell that she's excited? She's excited. ]

[ Reiji's eyes are still on his phone by the time he comes into view - she might see him smile in amusement at her text, but that amusement is quickly changed into wonder as she glides over to land. ]

Wow, that was totally amazing! [ He gestures to her in a sweeping motion. ] Flying, I mean. Hello, Sanae. It's good to see you.

[ When she mentions the snacks, he'll lift the bag in his hand a little so that she can see what's on the label. There's just one pack of chips, but mostly they're biscuits and other semi-healthy things. There might also be dark chocolate at the bottom of the bag. Maybe. ]

I'm good. Walking is good exercise, anyway. You've got an incredible place.

[ She steps down upon the ground, nodding, and then begins to lead the way over the bridges. ] You really think so..? It needed a little dusting when we first got here, but other than that, it came just as it looked.

[ A thoughtful pause. ] Ah, except I had to go buy a TV and a Playsta--...

[ Oh shit oh shit, she almost just admitted that she's a gamer nerd in front of him. Um. Uhhh. ] player of BluRays. I mean-- BluRay player, I bought that! [ The newest playstation can play blurays anyway, so it's not technically a lie!

She coughs into her hand. ] But you are right. This place is big, sometimes I think too big. It can get a bit scary at night, with all the long hallways and dark water at night.

[heiring]

[ Reiji nods, casting his eyes around the scenery as they walk. Though his attention is quickly returned to her as she speaks. ]

Still, it's a nice place. I live in a much smaller one. [ And then, when she brings up the 'bluray player' - ] That sounds useful. I doubt old gods know much about modern entertainment, anyway. Pity the house didn't come with one - I think Souji got one for us too. I haven't had the time to use it, though.

[ aka 'you can totally talk to me about games I like games too cough cough' ]

It'd be good for Halloween, at least?

[ Over this bridge, and that bridge, and another bridge, and they're finally at the entrance to the house, which lies adjacent to the main shrine. ] Oh--, well, that's not good. An unused video game counsel would be sad not to be played. [ All alone, gathering dust under the TV.

How horrible. ] And you're right about Halloween. I can see these bridges being used as a test of courage in the dark! Or leading to different themes in a haunted house! [ She laughs. ] Although... even I'd probably get scared, too.

[heiring]

[ Sanae's temple looks to be about the same size as Forrest's, maybe even larger. Do people with female god aspects get bigger shrines? Hmm, curious. ]

Well, I need someone to play with when I'm not working or exercising. Sometimes Souji's busy and it'd be rude to disturb him. Do you want to come?

[ Since she obviously has a Blu-Ray player and not a Playstation???

It's a bit hard to reply to her comment about getting scared without sounding mean, though. He doesn't know her well enough. ]

If we bring enough people, it might not be so scary anymore.

[ Yeah, he said 'we'. ]

[ The feminine gods need all that space to store all of their shoes, duh. ] Oh, um, if you're inviting... I suppose.

[ G....GAH. She might be going over to a boy's place to play video games aaaaaa he also said "we" for the halloween thing too aaaaaa ]

W--well! Halloween's a long way off, isn't it? I wouldn't want to get ahead of myself. [ although a summertime test of courage isn't She pushes open the door, stepping aside to allow him to enter. ] Still. It would be fun with all new friends here...

[ To start off on the right foot, huh? ]

I'm sure Souji won't mind. It's usually just the two of us, anyway. [ And this isn't the first time he's invited someone to their shrine without asking his permission.... but details!! Those are small details. (He didn't mind the previous time.) ] You'll need to tell me what you like, of course.

[ But anyway. ]

It's good to have friends. Friends help each other when they need it.

[ And with that wise (?) statement he follows her in. It's also huge inside, just like outside. Wow. ]

[ They'll always be one step ahead, at the very least.

She chuckles, leading him down-- you guessed it-- more hallways! ] They do-- and in the cause of a haunted house, there will friends to have your back when you faint, or friends that snap a picture of your scared face and frame it for you, and friends that go "boo" when you least expect it!

[ She's one of those types that likes the haunted themes to have fun being scared. Sanae laughs, turning to him. ] And, of course, there are those friends that allow you to stay close to them when you really do get scared. [ She agrees with his wise! statement! and moves past another door. ] Where I used to live, I'm sure my friends would have just fired their magic at the first oni mask they'd see.

[heiring]

[ So many hallways. It's like a maze! ]

I haven't been to a haunted house before. [ He says this thoughtfully. At least, he doesn't remember going to one before. But if it's the same adrenaline rush that you'd get from running - ] I think I'd enjoy it, though.

[ So many things to explore and try out. And if it's with friends, then there's no danger. ]

Then... when the time comes, we should work on one together! Oh-- oh, but we'll have to do a lotta prep and studying, like watching the appropriate horror movies, and playing the appropriate horror video games to get an idea of what kind of ghosts to include...!

[ And that's just the prep!

She's imagining make up and lighting and sound effects, too!

She then turns back to him, putting on her best "scary" face. ] Re-i-jiiii, I've come back to haunt youuu...!
