The idea is to look like he's playing along -- oh, it's just Gojyo, just that drunk god Dionysus, pay him no mind -- without getting stupid in the process. If Amaterasu wants everyone at this party, then she's got big plans, and he wants to have a clear head when those plans inevitably blow up in all their faces.
Still, even for the little he's drunk, he's feeling awfully loose and happy by the time he makes his way back to the blanket where he spotted Hakkai earlier.
