[closed] it's time to....
Who: Sora, Yuto & Yuya
What: Trying to teach Sora how to play Duel Monsters fffffff
When: May 4, evening
Where: Breidablik, Baldr’s temple
Warnings: TBA
[Surprisingly, it didn’t take much for Sora to convince Yuto that a card game night would be a great idea. And for him to bring Yuya along too! He’s pretty excited to learn this new card game and having some friends around to help him learn how to play is way better. He’s pretty confident in his ability to pick up games of any sort but let’s see how well this goes.
He hasn’t had much time to really set up too much in terms of snacks and drinks. He hasn’t had much time home at his own temple in general lately. But he does have his usual stock of sweet and salty snacks and a bunch of random Japanese drinks in the fridge.
The kitchen table has a giant stack of random card games and board games stacked up on it. It’s not only Duel Monsters but a whole bunch of other games that had caught his eye when shopping a few weeks ago.
He’ll probably need help creating a deck and everything. Who better to get him started than Yuya and Yuto?]

Also, yes. Yuto is bringing Yuya along. Sora wanted to meet him, after all. Plus, it'll be more fun with three people right? They could play some board games, too and...
Yuto shakes his head slightly as he's trying not to look too enthusiastic about all of this. Gotta look calm and collected all the time... Or rather, he just starts wondering what will happened if those two will meet. Will Sora and Yuya get along? And if they do, then will that mean trouble for Yuto?
Once the Yuto and Yuya reach Sora's temple, Yuto glances at his god, before he knocks at the door.]

Teaching someone else Duel Monsters though? Kiiiind of on the iffy side. It reminds of him of Yuzu's Dueling school, and even then he was forced into it.]
If you're excited, it's fine to let it show. [He reaches out and pinches Yuto's cheek as they wait for Sora's arrival. The positive side to sensing Yuto's emotions.] Usually you're supposed to smile when you're with friends.

Hey there! How's it going? Nice to meet you, Yuya!
[Don't mind the strange creature that bounds up to greet them as well. The fat catdog lets out a happy woof and jumps up to say hello. Sora carefully toes the him out of the way with his foot so they can get inside.]
This dummy is Wan. You can just ignore him.
no subject
...Why do you always have to do that?
[Yuto tries to pry Yuya's hand away from his face and then the door open with Sora greeting them.
And he's not alone it seems. Yuto blinks a few times at the strange creature, wondering what exactly it is, before he greets them both with a nods and a small:]
Hey.
[And then he turns to Yuya and waits for him to say something. He will also let him go inside first.]

'Sup! Nice to meet you as well, Sora. Hopefully Yuto hasn't been spreading rumors about me. [There's a teasing but light jab to his shinki's ribs, but Yuya's attention is immediately zeroed in on Wan. How interesting!]
No problem. He seems pretty cool. [The moment he steps inside and gets into a more open space, he'll kneel down and clap his hands for the catdog's attention.]
no subject
Just all the terrible stuff, don't worry it makes you sound cool. [He grins. He's totally joking, but he'll play along with banter if it's given to him.
Wan immediately comes to Yuya when his attention is grabbed and he jumps up to put his paws on Yuya's knees. He wiggles happily and lets out what sounds like a mixture between a cat meowing and a dog barking. Don't mind the fluff of pink energy that flies into the air too. Sora just shrugs, he lets anyone mess around with the pet.]
Hope you guys aren't too hungry, I don't have much right now but we can order pizza or Chinese food?
no subject
And then Yuto gets another reason to frown.
He trusted you, Sora! He believed in you and yet you say things like that! After staring at Sora for about a minute or two, Yuto shakes his head and sighs.]
...I can't believe this.
[He was right to have a bad feeling.
This will be a long night.
As for the question about food...]
...I'm not hungry so do as you like.
no subject
Pizza! How's pepperoni and peppers? [There's a grunt as he attempts to heave Wan into his arms, although that's proving to be a little difficult with all the wiggling and the sheer girth of the creature.]
no subject
at the small expense of a friendHe waves them over to the kitchen area and gestures that they can sit where they like.]
Pizza it is! I'll order that up. So, you guys are gonna have to teach me a lot about this game. I've looked at a bit of it, but I'm still pretty much brand new at everything.
[He picks up a deck of cards that the store owner had recommended to him. He has no idea if it's any good, so he holds it out to Yuto to check. It's mostly a beginners deck but the store owner has put some bad choices in it.
In the meantime, the dream eater in Yuya's arms seems more than pleased to stay there for as long as Yuya lets him. He even starts letting out a purr and looks like a melted blob.]

After entering the kitchen Yuto takes the deck from Sora and sits down.]
It's okay... Yuya taught me how to play not that long ago, too. [So he's pretty new at the game himself! ...But he can already see a few cards that make no sense in this kind of deck. He takes those cards out and places them on the table in a pile. Then once he's finished he shows the remaining cards to Yuya.]
What do you think about it?
[He then points at the pile.] I don't think those will work well in this deck...
[He's waiting for Yuya's opinion, since Yuya is the expert here.]
no subject
He'll glance at the deck though, only a glance. And he'll be take his seat on the floor to cuddle the catdog.]
Looks about right. [As right as a beginner deck can get.] But this is a good test for you two if you work together! Try to keep it to forty cards, with the number of spells and traps about the same as monsters. Your want to focus on cards that'll help fulfill the summoning conditions of your monsters and also keep your opponent from overwhelming you.
no subject
Well that sounds easy enough. You know a lot about this game huh, Yuya.
[Sora takes his deck back and shuffles through to see the changes that Yuto made. This game seems pretty complicated and Sora nearly wanted to just pick the cards that he thought looked the coolest. But that's probably not the greatest idea.
He'll sit across from Yuto. But he doesn't know how this will start.]
