Who: Eiji and everyone
What: There's something that wasn't there before in the temple
Where: Fortuna's Temple
When: May 1
Warnings: None
It had started off as a normal day. Eiji had gotten up and went about his daily business like he always did; maybe tidying up the temple where it was needed. He had just gone outside for a bit when he saw something that he didn't remember being in the recycling area.
There, on top of the closed lid, was a can. Nothing special, right? But he doesn't recall ever seeing anything like around the temple before. He approaches it and picks the can up.
"Hm? It's not open."
Was there still something inside of it? Eiji turns it over in his hands once before he decided to open it up. There was a click and then suddenly it moved. The cylindrical shape spread out and suddenly there was a mechanical bird flying in front of him. Needless to say, if anyone hears any loud, excited noises, they're all coming from him.

Later on, it made sense. Later on, Ankh understood the human's connections and why he was doing what he did. But he hadn't been too kind with Eiji who rather play with tiny robots then actually try to figure out any of the worries Ankh had.
Ankh climbed out of his window and sat on the roof, watching Eiji play with a bright red and silver candriod, feeling the slight fond smile appear on his face and not caring if anyone else sees it. Anyone that knew him knew that Ankh saw Eiji in a particularly soft light compared tot he rest of the general humanity. It would be weird if he didn't find some things about his human funny even if he usually didn't come out and said it.
"Oi, Eiji!"

As he passes, though, he notices Eiji in the grounds - not someone he's seen before, but presumably one of Ankh's shinki. Just that wouldn't catch his attention enough to draw him over, but the movement of the mechanical bird catches his eye in the next second, and his eyes follow it for a moment in clear interest before he succumbs to his own curiosity and familiarity with mechanical birds and takes a few steps over.
"I'd ask if you knew what that was, but you look a little too excited for that." His tone is serious, and a little dry.

"Ankh! Ankh, look at this! It's so cool!"
He gestures to the Taka candroid.

He was trying, so help him, he was trying. Ankh leaned forward and watched the candriod as it flew around and then headed straight for him. He gave it a look and tapped it on the beak. It made its own weird weirdly bird-like call and then headed right back for Eiji to play with the human some more.
"It's called Taka, and it's one of the candriods."
no subject
"I don't know what it is, actually. But it's really cool!"
no subject
"Have you asked Ankh about it, or hasn't it been around for long enough?"

Eiji repeats the word before looking back to Taka that had flown back over to him. He could understand the can part well enough, it had been a can when he found it.
no subject
"Ah, I haven't. I only found it a few moments ago."
And he had been too busy gushing over it.

"So you don't know what it's for, either. It seems strange to have something like this just as a companion."
This is mostly because his own robot birds are all weapons...or they were before this place stripped the "Real" part out of the Real Solid Vision in his duel disk.

"Were you looking for Ankh by any chance? You mentioned him by name."
no subject
"I know him, but I wasn't here looking for him. I was passing when I noticed that bird and was wondering what the hell it was."
He did not get much in the way of answers, but he figures that's to be expected in this place.

He had to be a little careful on how he talked about this sort of thing. Both he and Eiji came from the same world and while he missed his idiot and all his issues, he didn't want to inadvertently hurt him by forcing the memories out of him. It hurt and it was weird that he thought of that kind of pain. He was a Greeed. Greeed didn't have human pains like this but he was more now. He knew about these inner pains and fears even if it was through the filter of having lived bonded to Shingo.
"Taka is useful for long range scouting and carrying small items. One of the companies back home made them for use by certain individuals."
