[With how much stress there was in his life, Roxas wants to do something simple that he knows can clear his mind: archery. He's sure to bring his own bow and quiver to Katniss' place as he finally has decided that he wants to practice with her. Since teaching Sora a few weeks ago, he hasn't had much drive for one of his favorite hobbies he picked up in Koriko.

The way into her temple was amazing. Roxas felt at home in the forest surrounding her abode, even if the actual cottage she lives in looks so tiny in the snow. Hesitating, he knocks on the door, trying to keep a smile on his face.]


[Kido]

[Kido had been so kind to Roxas that he was more than happy to teach her how to make ice cream. Specifically ice cream mochi. He feels like he should be doing much more since she had been so insistent on cooking for him so he'd actually remember to eat.

His time running a cooking club in Koriko actually prepared him for teaching. Aki was the best teacher he knew on the subject, so he tries to emulate her and be the best teacher he could be for others. Which is probably why the club had been so successful. Sometimes he misses it. But how would you even start a club like that in a place like this?

Roxas tries not to think about it too hard as he waits for Kido to arrive. Every utensil and piece of machinery they needed was set up. Now all he needs is her and the ingredients.]

[Kido's actually really pleased. She knows how to cook a lot--she assumes she cooked in life because it comes so easily to her. But she doesn't complain. It's the thing she can do best, and it makes her feel useful.

So when Roxas agreed to teach her she was actually really happy, even if she has no ability to show any extreme emotions other than anger. She's got that covered.

She shows up ready, hair pulled up and halfway out of her hoodie when she knocks. She brought ingredients for ice cream, yeah, but also for a meal again so she doesn't leave without offering something, at least...]

[Roxas opens the door, nodding to Kido with a smile. He's been in a better mood since he's got to spend some time with people important to him. Of course Kido was important, but she has two people to loo after, and he's not the type to impose on that. If anything, he likes the fact that she has someone to look after. She seemed to enjoy it somehow.] Hey! You're here!

[He moves out of the way so she could come in and motions to the kitchen.]

Everything's set up! Do you need an apron?

[She holds up her bag when her head emerges from the bottom of the hoodie again.] No, I brought mine from home. [She didn't know if he'd have a spare. She doesn't really have a lot of clothes, so it's best she doesn't mess them up too badly.]

Thanks for doing this for me. I really appreciate it. [She doesn't even miss a beat as she adds--] Do you like sweet curry?

[The spare he has he got for Sora, so she could have borrowed on that had a puppy on it. It's okay she brought her own. He nods and closes the door behind her.]

No problem! I did this a lot back in Koriko. [He hasn't had that in forever...] Yeah! A lot! I don't like regular curry, but sweet is great.

[Honestly it's probably dumb and has something like "apron" written on it if she let Deku buy it because Deku... he's a gem.]

Good, because I brought ingredients for it. [Yeah she's not even asking if it's okay to cook she just is because damnit ur one of her duckling brothers now i guess.]

You taught people a lot? Why'd you stop?

[It's a strange feeling, but he feels kind of warm thinking about how nice Kido was to him. It was like how he felt around Aqua. Ever since that other night, he's kind of secretly hoping Kido could be like family. She could join Katniss in his little secret family tree.]

Okay! I think I have some things we can make side dishes out of in the fridge. [The house had been empty yesterday so shopping happened.

He looks down as he puts on his own apron. He flattens the fabric with his hand before he answers.]

I don't know if there'd be anyone interested. And with how people come and go, it'd be chaos...

Chaos isn't all bad. I mean... the other day I woke up and our entire living room was being rearranged. Sometimes it's kind of nice. [Shouto is a mess but she likes that he is a mess and she likes him and she's very happy there. She's very happy now, here, too.] But some of us stick around longer. If you want to give it a shot, I'll help. I'm a decent cook.

[No, she's a good cook.] We can make dinner, then, after we finish the ice cream.

[missingache]

[... Kido, that isn't normal. People usually wait till others are awake before rearranging a room... Her volunteering to help does make this seem like a better idea than before. He fidgets a bit as he answers.] I'll think about it. Even if it's just a couple of us.

[He nods and takes the bags from her.] Sounds like a plan!

[blindfoldcode]

[To be fair it probably should've woken her up because she was on the couch. But she sleeps like a log.]

Keep me updated, okay? I think it'd be nice. [Even if she hates people.

But oh. Okay. There go the bags.]

You're really ready for this, huh?

[Just like Sora. Roxas needs more light sleepers in his life.]

I will. [He could use the company of more people.

He nods and takes the ingredients out, arranging them on the island.]

I've been ready for a while now.

[Kido literally slept through being hit.]

I didn't realize you were this excited. I would've come earlier.

[Ouch...]

I just got back here a couple hours ago, but I set things up when I came home.

[blindfoldcode]

You're feeling a little better, right? [Not blaming yourself for everything still?]

[missingache]

Yeah. I... I've been keeping busy, too. [He sighs and rubs the back of his neck]

A couple days ago a few of my friends disappeared... Sora didn't take it well. We kind of had a fight?

[blindfoldcode]

You got in a fight with someone because your friends disappeared? [Ok that sounds really weird.]

[missingache]

No... He wanted to see me, but I told him to stay home. He... Got mad at me. Showed up in Akihabara without shoes... He was supposed to be resting because of his injuries.

[He laughs nervously, a blush on his face.] I just spent the day with him. He teased me about it being like a date... [He can't go on. He's covering his face now.]

[Cute. Kido chuckles at that.]

Sounds like he was worried. Did you get him shoes at least.

[He nods before eventually lowering his hands.]

Yeah. He didn't wanna go home, and he didn't want me to carry him.

You have a good friend, not to leave you alone like that.

[This is also from Kido, Miss "I pretend to be stoic and hide myself away but I hate being alone," so her opinion is a little on the weird side.]

It was more him not wanting to be alone.

[Denial. Anyways, back to the task at hand.] I wrote down the recipe for ice cream, but let me show you how to mix it first.

[She appreciates a good abrupt subject change.]

All right. I think I brought everything. I know what flavors the boss likes, but I'm kind of guessing with Shouto.

[He just doesn't want to go into details about not-date because... not-date was a lot like a date-date...]

So we've got strawberry and green tea. We can make vanilla, too. It's a safe flavor. [He takes the strawberries and looks them over.] Do you know how to hull a strawberry? It's kind of like hulling a tomato. It's basically where you make sure the leaf part is separated from the strawberry.

Normally I just slice the top off. Is there another way to do it?

[Sora was being cute, but hey, don't tell him that, he'd die of embarrassment.]

Yeah. You want to get the whole stem out. [He picks up something that look like broad tweezers. He grabs the leaves and slightly twists them before pulling them off, leaving a small divot in the strawberry.] Aki taught me how to do this. She said it's because then you can get rid of the little hard piece that anchors the leaves.

Huh. [She blinks at it, picking up a strawberry to examine it.]

I guess I have a lot of tricks to pick up still.
